Abstract

Many people have been killed indiscriminately by the use of handguns in different countries. Terroristacts, online fighting games and mentally disturbed people are considered the common reasons for these crimes.  A real-time handguns detection surveillance system is built to overcome these badacts, based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs). This method is focused on the detection of different weapons, such as (handgun and rifles). The identification of handguns from surveillance cameras and images requires monitoring by human supervisor, that can cause errors. To overcome this issue,the designed detection system sends an alert message to the supervisor when aweapon is detected. In the proposed detection system, a pre-trained deep learning model MobileNetV3-SSDLite is used to perform the handgundetection operation. This model has been selected becauseit is fast and accurate in infering to integrate network for detecting and classifying weaponsin images. The experimental result using global handguns datasets of various weapons showed that the use of MobileNetV3 with SSDLite model bothenhance the accuracy level in identifying the real time handguns detection.

Abstract

The remote phosphor structure is often disadvantageous in color quality but in terms of optics it is more convenient when compared to other phosphor structures such as conformal or in-cup ones. From this disadvantage, there are many studies to improve its chromatic output. In this research paper, we propose a dual-layer remote phosphor geometry for the improvement of white light-emitting diodes (WLEDs) in two parameters: color rendering index (CRI) and color quality scale (CQS). The 7700 K WLEDs are used in this study. The idea of the study is to place a red phosphor layer LaAsO4:Eu3+ on the yellow phosphor YAG: Ce3+, and then find the concentration of LaAsO4:Eu3+ in an appropriate way to achieve the highest color quality. The results showed that LaAsO4:Eu3+ bring great benefits for enhancing CRI and CQS. In particular, the greater the concentration of LaAsO4:Eu3+, the greater the CRI and CQS because the portion of red lights in WLEDs increases. However, the decrease in lumen output occurs when the concentration of LaAsO4:Eu3+ increases excessively. This is proved thanks to Mie-scattering theory and Beer-Lambert law. The results of important articles in WLEDs fabrication have greatly contributed to a higher white light quality.

Abstract

Digital forensic tools (DFTs) are used to detect the authenticity of digital images. Different DFTs have been developed to detect the forgery like (i) forensic focused operating system, (ii) computer forensics, (iii) memory forensics, (iv) mobile device forensics, and (v) software forensics tools (SFTs). These tools are dedicated to detect the forged images depending on the type of the applications. Based on our review, we found that in literature of the DFTs less attention is given to the evaluation and analysis of the forensic tools. Among various DFTs, we choose SFTs because it is concerned with the detection of the forged digital images. Therefore,the purpose of this study is to classify the different DFTs and evaluate the software forensic tools (SFTs) based on the different features which are present in the SFTs. In our work, we evaluate the following five SFTs, i.e.,“FotoForensics”, “JPEGsnoop”, “Ghiro”, “Forensically”, and “Izitru”, based on different features so that new research directions can be identified for the development of the SFTs.

Abstract

Falls are an important aspect of older people's health because they trigger major injuries and even death in one-third of fallen patients, making them  a major public health problem. Given the risk of physical and psychological injury, if serious injuries occur as a result of a fall, prevention is an important consideration in today's health care landscape, where the population is predominantly adult world wide. This paper presents the applicability ofa simple technique of analysis of gait signals capturedby mobile devices with the objective to the generation of early warnings on the risk of falls in older adults, which correlates with subjective scales. The technique is tested in a population of patients showing results of the significant risk of falls inpatients that the subjective scales could not detect, demonstrating that mobile devices and signal processing can become important tools in the service of elderly care in fall risk prevention.

Abstract

The aim of this article is contributeto the advanced vector control strategy of asynchronous machines. Analyzes of experimental of indirect field-oriented control are presented. In this context, we propose vector control algorithms to provide solutions to the disadvantages of field-oriented control FOC.The results obtained from various methods of determining the parameters for asynchronous machine are compared. We calculate the various parameters and then we present the technical characteristics of each element of the asynchronous machine; finally, we implement the vector control used asbasis of comparison between the simulation under Matlab/Simulink software and experiments. The simulation and experimental tests show that the proposed controller is suitable for medium and high-performance applications.

Abstract

This paper aims to point out the nonlinear phenomenon occurring in coarse/dense wavelength division multiplex (C/D-WDM) systems. This phenomenon has to betaken into account during the design of the optical network itself, as wavelengthsin the optical fiber are constantly densified. The paper points out the emergence of the non-linear four-wave mixing (FWM) phenomenonand how it relates to the dispersion in the optical fiber together with the transmit power. The output of the paper is a proposed design of the system that points to the improvement of the bit error rate (BER) with a suitable choice of dispersion and suitable transmission power.

The satellite communication providea utilization of radio frequency links. Specific frequencies are dedicated for satellite correspondences through global administrative and coordination procedures which keeps impedance amongframeworks. Over typical work, the satellite receives uplinked indicator fromearth. Progressions its frequency marginally will keep away from self-intervention then re-transmits signal ahead the downlink on the land. Pathloss depicts characteristic Propagate outside the sending signal front as it goes bythe space. A  software defined radio (SDR) is a flexible technology that aimsto replace all hardware by software to enables the design of adaptive communications systems such as changing frequencies, modulation schemes and data rates. Applied to small satellites, some of the implications areincreased data through put when down-linking or up-linking by varying communications parameters and making use of one hardware design and implementation for communicating for many missions, just by updating the software. Therefore, development time for small satellite communication systems can be reduced in the future. This paper analyzes, design and software implementation of radio frequency satellite communications links under noisy channels such as phase/frequency offsets and noise temperature. Modulation schemes such as 64QAM system is used based on Matlab tools to implement the results. Obtained results shows a good response that get the goal from the paper.

Abstract

Flash flood is a natural disaster that often occurs after heavy rain, and it is getting more common nowadays. The  flood early warning and response system (FEWRS) can be installed to minimize the level of damage and the number of casualties due to flood by providing accurate and reliable flood data. Unfortunately, the existing number of studies detailing on the factors affecting the efficiency of FEWRS in flood disaster is quite limited. The above issue is addressed in the current work, which involves conducting a comprehensive literature review on the factors that drive the effectiveness of information systems (IS) in FEWRS. The current analysis was based on the Wymer and Regan's standards. From the 66 factors identified from the previous studies on IS adoption, the most significant factors affecting the effectiveness of FEWRS are: system quality, information quality, user satisfaction, service quality, use, perceived usefulness, intention to use,net benefits, perceived ease of use,compatibility, user experience, relative advantage, complexity, perceivedrisks, educational quality, and confirmation, these factors can be constructed to the success model to address the effectiveness of FEWRS in disaster management.

Abstract

A micro-grid is a part of power system which able to operates in grid or islanding mode. The most important variable that able to give us information about the stability in islanded micro-grid network is the frequency dynamical responses. The frequency analysis for multi-area micro-grid network model may involve a complicated of mathematical equations. This makes the researcher intending to omit several unnecessary parameters in order to simplify the equations. The purpose of this paper is to show an approach to derive the mathematical equations to represent the average behavior of frequency dynamical responses for two different micro-grid areas. Both of networks are assumed to have non-identical distributed generator behavior with different parameters. The prime mover and speed governor systems are augmented with the general swing equation. The tie line model and the information of rotor angle was considered. Then, in the last section, the comparison between this technique with the conventional approach using centre of inertia (COI) technique was defined.

Abstract

With the growing and aging population, patient auto monitoring systems are becoming more popular. Smart sensors linked with the internet of things (IoT) make patients' auto monitoring system possible. Nowadays myRIO with LabVIEW is more popular for easy data acquisition, instrument control, and automation. This paper proposed myRIO and IoT based health monitoring and diagnosing system (HMDS) to acquire heartbeat rate, pulse, blood pressure (BP), temperature and activities of the patient using various smart sensors with more accuracy. The acquired raw data from the various sensors had been sent to the myRIO using ESP 8266 Wi-Fi module. The received raw data by the myRIO would be processed to the equivalent medical parameters using LabVIEW and the same might be transferred to the remote monitoring system (RMS) using cloud via a gateway. The abnormalities in the obtained data would be monitored and the diagnosis was made. The experimental setup was developed using various wearable sensors, ESP 8266, myRIO with LabVIEW and cloud with the gateway.
