Abstract

In view of rapid development of computer technology digital systems of automatic control are installed on the modern marine vessels for performance of various manoeuvres at optimal trajectories taking into account features of the ship and active disturbances. In this connection, great number of problems that deal with construction of automatic control systems, such as minimizing the fulfillment time of the maneuver, searching for the optimal trajectory, the suppression of various types of exogenous disturbances like wind and rough sea, arises. In the work, the problem of suppression of exogenous disturbances acting on a marine vessel, about which we have no information except its boundedness, is considered. The problem of searching of the controller as a static state feedback is the basis of offered approach. The system MATLAB-Simulink is accepted as the basic tool of the computer support. An example of modeling control system for the carrier is presented.

Abstract

Research on multi-class imbalance from a number of researchers faces obstacles in the form of poor data diversity and a large number of classifiers. The Hybrid Approach Redefinition-Multiclass Imbalance (HAR-MI) method is a Hybrid Ensembles method which is the development of the Hybrid Approach Redefinion (HAR) method. This study has compared the results obtained with the Dynamic Ensemble Selection-Multiclass Imbalance (DES-MI) method in handling multiclass imbalance. In the HAR-MI Method, the preprocessing stage was carried out using the random balance ensembles method and dynamic ensemble selection to produce a candidate ensemble and the processing stages was carried out using different contribution sampling and dynamic ensemble selection to produce a candidate ensemble. This research has been conducted by using multi-class imbalance datasets sourced from the KEEL Repository. The results show that the HAR-MI method can overcome multi-class imbalance with better data diversity, smaller number of classifiers, and better classifier performance compared to a DES-MI method. These results were tested with a Wilcoxon signed-rank statistical test which showed that the superiority of the HAR-MI method with respect to DES-MI method.

Abstract

Due to an ever-growing demand for spectrum and the fast-paced developmentof wireless applications, technologies such as cognitive radio enablethe efficient use of the spectrum. The objective of the present article is todesign an algorithm capable of choosing the best channel for data transmission. It uses quantitative methods that can modify behavior by changing qualityparameters in the channel. To achieve this task, a hybrid decision-makingalgorithm is designed that combinesanalytical hierarchy process(AHP)algorithms and adjusts the weights of each channel parameter, using a prioritytable. TheElimination Et Choix Tranduisant La Realité(ELECTRE)algorithm processes the information from each channel through a weightmatrix and then delivers the most favorable result for the transmitted data. Theresults reveal that the hybrid AHP-ELECTRE algorithm has a suitableperformance, which improves the throughput rate by 14% compared to similaralternatives.

Abstract

Increasing electricity demand in Java-Madura-Bali, Indonesia, must be addressed appropriately to avoid blackout by determining accurate peak load forecasting. Econometric approach may not be sufficient to handle this problem due to limitation in modelling nonlinear interaction of factors involved. To overcome this problem, Elman and Jordan Recurrent Neural Network based on Levenberg-Marquardt learning algorithm is proposed to forecast annual peak load of Java-Madura-Bali interconnection for 2009-2011. Actual historical regional data which consists of economic, electricity statistic and weather during 1995-2008 are applied as inputs. The networks structure is firstly justified using true historical data of 1995-2005 to forecast peak load of 2006-2008. Afterwards, peak load forecasting of 2009-2011 is conducted subsequently using actual historical data of 1995-2008. Overall, the proposed networks shown better performance compared to that obtained by Levenberg-Marquardt-Feedforward network, Double-log Multiple Regression, and with projection by PLN for 2006-2010.

Abstract

An improvement neural network adaptive control strategy is put forward for X-Y position platform with uncertainty by the paper. Firstly, dynamics model of X-Y position platform is established. Then, RBF neural network with good learning ability is used to approach non-linear system. The early period control accuracy of the problem is considered by the paper, because good precision in the early period is difficult to be obtained by neural network controller, so PID controller is designed to compensate control. An improvement dynamic optimization adjustment algorithm of network weights is designed to speed up the learning speed. Simulation results show that the control method is more effective to improve the control precision and real-time and has a good application value.

Abstract

For the defect in describing affine and blur invariable of scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) at large viewpoint variation, a new object recognition method is proposed in this paper, which used maximally stable extremal region (MSER) detecting MSERs and SIFT describing local feature of these regions. First, a new most stability criterion is adopt to improve the detection effect at irregular shaped regions and under blur conditions; then, the local feature descriptors of MSERs is extracted by the SIFT; and finally, the method proposed is comparing then correct rate of SIFT and the proposed through image recognition with standard test images. Experimental results show that the method proposed can still achieve more than 74% recognition correct rate at different viewpoint, which is better than SIFT.

Abstract

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are a permanent neurodevelopmental disorder that can be identified during the first few years of life and are currently associated with the abnormal walking pattern. Earlier identification of this pervasive disorder could provide assistance in diagnosis and establish rapid quantitative clinical judgment. This paper presents an automated approach which can be applied to identify ASD gait patterns using three-dimensional (3D) ground reaction forces (GRF). The study involved classification of gait patterns of children with ASD and typical healthy children. The GRF data were obtained using two force plates during self-determined barefoot walking. Time-series parameterization techniques were applied to the GRF waveforms to extract the important gait features. The most dominant and correct features for characterizing ASD gait were selected using statistical between-group tests and stepwise discriminant analysis (SWDA). The selected features were grouped into two groups which served as two input datasets to the k-nearest neighbor (KNN) classifier. This study demonstrates that the 3D GRF gait features selected using SWDA are reliable to be used in the identification of ASD gait using KNN classifier with 83.33% performance accuracy.
