Abstract

9tka is a board game created by Adam Kaluza. The game can be played with 2 up to 4 players, with the goal of conquering as many areas in the board as possible. The aim of this research is to implement the 9tka game into a digital game that can be played on a personal computer. The implementation will include the feature to play against computer players. The rules and game’s play of 9tka is modelled, and then implemented using Java. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) of the computer player is implemented using the MaxN algorithm, which is an extension of the minimax algorithm. Several tests were done to gauge the robustness of the implemented AI. The experiments show that the AI is capable to make a move in time less than 541 milliseconds on average, across all types of players. Moreover, from eight respondents, the average amount of human wins is 2.25 out of 5 matches, across all types of players. This shows that the implemented AI on computer player has a better chance to defeat human opponents.

Abstract

Nonlinear control strategy was established to realize the Projective Synchronization (PS) and Hybrid Projective Synchronization (HPS) for 4-D hyperchaotic system at different scaling matrices. This strategy, which is able to achieve projective and hybrid projective synchronization by more precise and adaptable method to provide a novel control scheme. On First stage, three scaling matrices were given in order to achieving various projective synchronization phenomena. While the HPS was implemented at specific scaling matrix in the second stage.  Ultimately, the precision of controllers were compared and analyzed theoretically and numerically. The long-range precision of the proposed controllers are confirmed by third stage.

Abstract

This paper aims to point out the nonlinear phenomenon occurring in coarse/dense wavelength division multiplex (C/D-WDM) systems. This phenomenon has to betaken into account during the design of the optical network itself, as wavelengthsin the optical fiber are constantly densified. The paper points out the emergence of the non-linear four-wave mixing (FWM) phenomenonand how it relates to the dispersion in the optical fiber together with the transmit power. The output of the paper is a proposed design of the system that points to the improvement of the bit error rate (BER) with a suitable choice of dispersion and suitable transmission power.

Abstract

Perancangan timer digital pengendali on/off peralatan rumah tangga yang dibuat meliputi dua bagian yaitu perangkat keras dan perangkat lunak.

Abstract

Every Knowledge Based System has their own knowledge formalism depends on the problem to be solved, goal to be achieved, and proposed solution. This means every knowledge contained in the system will differ from one system to another. This was also meant that this knowledge cannot be used by other system, which in return makes every system must start with a learning phase from the start. One of the solutions to overcome this problem is by providing a unified model that can accept all type of knowledge which guarantees automatic interaction between Knowledge Based System. Interaction in this paper is defined as knowledge sharing, integration, and transfer from one system to another. This research provides the model and conducts the test on interaction capability. This research contributes for accelerating a new Knowledge Based System establishment because it does not need a knowledge initialization.

Abstract

The paper highlights the urgency of utilizing and promoting use of non conventional sources, particularly the wind and solar energy, so as to control the environmental pollution, such as ozone layer depletion, deforestation, loss of biodiversity, global warming etc. As a case study, the various performance factors of a 10 kW hybrid (wind and solar) power plant, which is having 60:40 power generation share of wind power to solar power were analysed. The study shows that there is mismatch between the designed and actual plant load factor (PLF), as well as the power generation share of the wind and solar power plant. It was also found that the plant utilization factor (PUF) was poor and that there is very less scope for installation of solar tracking system. Based on the detailed analysis of obtained results, certain recommendations were made for streamlining and optimizing the power generation capacity, and also for better utilization of generated power.

Abstract

Next generation sequencing technology is able to generate short read in large numbers and in a relatively short in single running programs. Graph based DNA sequence assembly used to handle these big data in assembly step. The graph based DNA sequence assembly is very sensitive to DNA sequencing error. This problem could be solved by performing an error correction step before the assembly process. This research proposed fuzzy inference system (FIS) model based spectral alignment method which can detect and correct DNA sequencing error. The spectral alignment technique was implemented as a pre-processing step before the DNA sequence assembly process. The evaluation was conducted using Velvet assembler. The number of nodes yielded by the Velvet assembler become a measure of the success of error correction. The results shows that FIS model based spectral alignment created small number of nodes and therefore it successfully corrected the DNA reads.

Abstract

Some of the already available prosthetic hands in the market are operated in open loop, without any feedback and expensive. This system counters those by having the prosthetic hand printed using 3D printer and consist of a feedback sensor to make it a closed loop system. The system generally consists of two sections, mainly Finger Input and Prosthetic Output. The two sections communicate wirelessly for data transferring. The main purpose of the system is to control the prosthetic hand wirelessly using the Mirror Glove by performing a mirror effect that will translate movement from the glove onto the prosthetic hand. The Mirror Glove monitors the movements/bending of each fingers using force sensitive sensor. The prosthetic hand also has a sensor known as force sensitive resistor. The sensors will feedback the pressure on the prosthetic hand during object grasping, allowing the prosthetic hand to grasp delicate object without damaging it. Overall, the system will imitate the flex and relaxing of fingers inside the Mirror Glove and wirelessly control distant prosthetic hand to imitate the human hand.

Abstract

The use of cryptography in the e-voting system to secure data is a must to ensure the authenticity of the data. In contrast to common encryption algorithms, homomorphic encryption algorithms had unique properties that can perform mathematical operations against ciphertext. This paper proposed the use of the Paillier and Okamoto-Uchiyama algorithms as two homomorphic encryption algorithms that have the additional properties so that it can calculate the results of voting data that has been encrypted without having to be decrypted first. The main purpose is to avoid manipulation and data falsification during vote tallying process by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of each algorithm.
