The integrity monitoring system, as an integral part of aviation navigation system for global navigation satellite system (GNSS), should detect and isolated Failures or faults caused by system failures to maintain the integrity of the GNSS. The pseudorange residual noise of navigation satellites does not completely follow the Gaussian distribution, the performance of traditional filtering algorithms (such as the Kalman filtering) may be reduced due to non-Gaussian noise. The particle filter algorithm has great advantage to dealing with the nonlinear and non-Gaussian system. in this paper, the particle filter algorithm is applied to GNSS receiver autonomous integrity monitoring(RAIM) to detect the fault of navigation satellite. Firstly, Log likelihood ratio (LLR) testing is established; and then, the consistency between the state estimation of the main particle filter and the auxiliary particle filter is checked to determine whether the navigation satellite has failed; finally, the novel RAIM algorithm is undertaken by field programmable gate array (FPGA), the modules of the proposed RAIM algorithm is implemented. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is illustrated in a problem of GPS (Global Positioning System) autonomous integrity monitoring system, the algorithm and its implementation can be embeded in GNSS receiver.

This paper presented the design of integrated open loop resonator bandpass filter with notch type antenna for the use in microwave applications. Chebyshev type filter is selected as the filter characteristics and cascaded design with the antenna to produce a single module, Integrated Filter Antenna (IFA). Special feature of the antenna is the implementation of notch on the patch antenna to improve the efficiency. IFA is then simulated in electromagnetic simulation tool, Agilent Advance Design System (ADS) version 2016 and measured using R&S Vector Network Analyzer. It shows that the proposed IFA produced good measured return loss >-30dB with both vertical and horizontal gain of 9.11dBi and 8.01dBi respectively.

This paper focused on designing a bi-directional beams waveguide slotted antenna at millimetre wave spectrum. Waveguide slotted antenna is known for its highly directional pattern. By having bi-directional pattern, the capacity of system coverage can be expanded. The design is implemented by using antenna slot theory on a waveguide structure. The slotted are made on two wall surfaces and the performance is compared to the slotted on single wall. The two models designs are simulated using Computer Simulation Technology (CST) microwave software. The simulation results show that both models operate at 30 GHz with minimum reflection coefficient of -24.63 and -25.01 dB respectively. The two models achieved a fair high gain at 15.5 dB and 13.3 dB with directional beamwidth of 8.9 degree. The proposed bi-directional beams structure achieved a comparable gain in both directions when compared to the single direction.

Malaria is a most dangerous mosquito borne disease and its infection spread through the infected mosquito. It especially affects the pregnant females and Children less than 5 years age. Malarial species commonly occur in five different shapes, Therefore, to avoid this crucial disease the contemporary researchers have proposed image analysis based solutions to mitigate this death causing disease. In this work, we propose diagnosis algorithm for malaria which is implemented for testing and evaluation in Matlab. We use Filtering and classification along with median filter and SVM classifier. Our proposed method identifies the infected cells from rest of blood images. The Median filtering smoothing technique is used to remove the noise. The feature vectors have been proposed to find out the abnormalities in blood cells. Feature vectors include (Form factor, measurement of roundness, shape, count total number of red cells and parasites). Primary aim of this research is to diagnose malaria by finding out infected cells. However, many techniques and algorithm have been implemented in this field using image processing but accuracy is not up to the point. Our proposed algorithm got more efficient results along with high accuracy as compared to NCC and Fuzzy classifier used by the researchers recently.

In this paper we derive the Multicarrier Equalization by Restoration of Redundancy (MERRY) algorithm: A blind, adaptive channel shortening algorithm for updating a Time-domain Equalizer (TEQ) in a system employing MultiCarrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) modulation. We show that the MERRY algorithm applied to the MC-CDMA system converges considerably more rapidly than in the Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system [1]. Simulations results are provided to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm.

Nowadays, software products have become an essential part of human life. To build software, developers must have a good understanding of the requirements of the software. However, software developers tend to jumpstart system construction without having a clear and detailed understanding of the requirements. The user story concept is one of the practices of the requirements elicitation. This paper aims to present the work conducted to develop an Android chatbot application to support the requirements elicitation activity in software engineering, making the work less time-consuming and structured even for users not accustomed to requirements engineering. The chatbot uses Nazief & Adriani stemming algorithm to pre-process the natural language it receives from the users and artificial mark-up language (AIML) as the knowledge base to process the bot’s responses. A preliminary acceptance test based on the technology acceptance model results in an 83.03% score for users’ behavioral intention to use.

Induction motor (IM) drives have received a strong interest from researchers and industry particularly for high-performance AC drives through vector control method. With the advancement in power electronics and digital signal processing(DSP), high capability processors allow the implementation of advanced control techniques for motor drives such as model predictive control (MPC). In this paper, design, analysis and investigation of two different MPC techniques applied to IM drives; themodel predictive torque control (MPTC) and model predictive current control (MPCC) are presented. The two techniques are designed in Matlab/Simulink environment and compared interm of operation in different operating conditions. Moreover, a comparisonof these techniques with field-oriented control (FOC) and direct torque control (DTC) is conducted based on simulation studies with PI speed controller for all control techniques. Based on the analysis, the MPC techniques demonstrates a better result compared with the FOC and DTC in terms of speed, torque and current responses in transient and steady-state conditions.

There are several wastewater treatment methods and techniques which have been introduced such as by using biological, chemical, and physical process. However, it is found that there are some shortcomings in the current available methods and techniques. For instance, the application of chlorine can cause bacterial disinfection but produce secondary harmful carcinogenic disinfection. In order to acquire a better understanding in wastewater treatment process, a study of wastewater treatment system and hybrid discharge reactor to acquire gas liquid phase corona like discharge is carried out. In addition to the laboratory experiment, designing and development of the Blumlein pulse power circuit and modification of reactor for wastewater treatment are accomplished as well. The Blumlein pulse power circuit generates nanosecond high voltage pulses. The Hybrid Discharge reactor can produce both spark discharge in gas phase and liquid phase (spark-spark discharge). Analysis of the emission spectrum of the occurring discharge found the existence of various chemicals such as OH radicals. In addition, a drastic improvement in terms of oxygen content and conductivity level of the wastewater sample is also observed.

The palmprint is a new recognition method in physiological biometrics. In palmprint region of interest (ROI), the segmentation and feature extraction are two important issues. The main problem in palmprint recognition system is how to extract the region of interest (ROI) and the features of palmprint. This paper introduces two steps in center of mass moment and the application of method for ROI segmentation and then to apply the Gabor two dimensional (2D) filters to obtain palm code as palmprint feature vector. Normalized Hamming distance is used to measure the similarity degrees of two feature vectors of palmprint. The system has been tested by using database 1000 palmprint images which was generated from 5 groups of samples from 200 persons selected randomly. Experiment results show that this system can achieve a high performance with success rate about 98.7% (FRR=1.1667%, FAR=0.1111%, T=0.376).
