Abstract

Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and full-duplex (FD) relaying communications are promising candidates for 5G cellular networks. In this paper, by exploiting the impact of hardware impairment, we study FD NOMA communications with a downlink scheme. In a group of two users, we find that the target rates and power allocation strategies are main factors affecting the system performance metric. We derive the closed-form formula of outage probability for two users. As main contribution, numerical results are considered to illustrate the performance of the FD NOMA. We also study the base station (BS) can adjust its transmit signal to noise ratio (SNR) to achieve relevant outage probability in several scenarios.

Abstract

As we all know, power quality (PQ) issues are a major concern these days. Field programmable gate array (FPGA) are essential in PQ analysis, particularly in smart meters for data processing, storage, and transmission. One of the most significant advantages of FPGA is its reconfigurability, with vast hardware resources that can be used to implement complex as well as time-critical data processing units. Because the FPGA architecture supports fixed point arithmetic, data loss occurs in the data path unit, necessitating the realization of the PQ event detection module, and classification model to be more accurate than software implementation algorithms. The majority of the work reported, with feed forward neural network (FFNN) structure occupying large number of multipliers and adders for classification, most of the work reported has not addressed to minimize the data path resources for FFNN instead have addressed in improving classification accuracy. Based on these issues, this paper addresses the implementation challenges in FFNN architecture design by proposing improved and fast architectures. The proposed FFNN architecture design using optimum resources. The FFNN based classifier are designed to perform PQ event detection and classification with 99.5% accuracy. The FFNN processor operates at maximum frequency of 238 MHz.

Abstract

This work proposes a new coordinated vaccine scheduling model suitable for the city size COVID-19 vaccination program. It is different from the existing COVID-19 vaccination scheduling mechanism where there is no coordination among endpoint providers. On the other side, the vaccine stock in every provider is limited, so that this mismatch creates many unserved participants. Moreover, studies on the COVID-19 vaccination scheduling problem are hard to find. This work aims to solve this mismatch problem. It is developed by combining the nearest distance and the single course timetabling. It is then optimized by using a cloud theory based-simulated annealing algorithm. The simulation result shows that the proposed model outperforms both the uncoordinated and basic course timetabling models. It can minimize the number of unserved participants, total travel distance, and the number of participants with missed timeslot. It produces zero unserved participants if the total vaccine quantity is at least equal to the total number of participants. The proposed model creates lower total travel distance than the uncoordinated or basic course timetabling adopted model. It is also better than the basic course timetabling model in creating a low number of participants with missed timeslot.

Abstract

Wireless body area network (WBAN) works near or inside the human body and is characterized by its accuracy in sending and receiving data. It works for long hours and must be low in energy consumption. One of its problems is that the transmission and reception distance is few and does not exceed a few meters. We worked on simulations based on a network consisting of ZigBee or fifth-generation (5G) and 5G with multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) nodes to deliver information to the center (hospital) at a 2.4 to 2.8 or 5 GHz frequency to solve this problem. Suppose the sensors are connected to the Arduino, which in turn is connected to the transmitter connection. The proposed method transmits data obtained from the sensor that touched the patient by multi-node to the hospital. The suggested method shows the best scenario to reduce energy consumption based on the number of active nodes. Based on the results obtained, we have noticed that ZigBee devices reduce energy use, perform better, and significantly extend the life of the nodes. While 5G devices increased the response speed in transferring data. In addition, MIMO antennas have the advantage of adding more stability in the connection between nodes.

Abstract

Corona virus disease-19 (COVID-19) is growing rapidly because it is an infectious disease. This disease is caused by a virus belonging to the type of DNA virus with very diverse genetics. This study proposes a feature extraction method using k-mer to obtain nucleotide frequencies in protein coding. In profiling viral DNA sequences, this study proposes to obtain similarity by country using hierarchical k-means, where the results are averaged by the hierarchical clustering method and then find the initial cluster center. The experimental results show that the silhouette, purity, and entropy are 0.867, 0.208, and 0.892, respectively. Then, we apply the Gini index feature selection to find the important components as characteristics in each country. The selected components are implemented using the ensemble method, Random Forest, to evaluate their performance. The experimental results showed high performance, including sensitivity, accuracy, specificity, and area under the curve (AUC).

Abstract

The employment of cognitive radio (CR) is critical to the successful development of wireless communications. In this field, especially when using the multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna technology, energy consumption is critical. If the principal user (PU) is present, developers can utilize the energy detecting approach to tell. The researchers employed two distinct phases to conduct their research: the intense and accurate sensing stages. After the furious sensing step was completed, the PU user was identified as having a maximum or minimal energy channel. There are two situations in which the proposed algorithm's performance is tested: channels for fading AWGN and Rayleigh. When the proposed methods' simulation results are compared with conventional approaches, the complexity of MIMO was reduced by roughly 42% at low SNR levels. With 70 samples and an acceptable drop in detection performance, the results were suitable for further testing.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a tsunami vulnerability assessment model on land use and land cover using information on NDVI, NDWI, MDWI, MSAVI, and NDBI extracted from sentinel 2 A and ASTER satellite images. The optimization model using algorithms LASSO and linear regression. The validation test is MSE, ME, RMSE and MAE which show that the linear regression has a higher accuracy than the LASSO. The NDWI interpolation values are 0.00 - (-0.35) and MNDWI interpolation values are 0.00 - (-0.40) which are interpreted as the presence of water surfaces along a coast. MSAVI are values (-0.20) - (-0.35) which are interpreted as the presence of no vegetation. The NDBI interpolation values are values 0.15-0.20 which are interpreted as the presence of built-up lands with social and economic activities. While the NDVI interpolation values are 0.20-0.30 which are interpreted as the presence of vegetation densities, biomass growths from the photosynthesis process, and moderate to low levels of vegetation health. The digital elevation model ASTER analysis shows that all areas with high socioeconomic activities, low NDVI, high NDWI/MDWI, high MSAVI and high NDBI are in areas with low elevation (less than 10 meters) so they have a high vulnerability to tsunami waves.

Abstract

Noise in 4G communication systems is a pressing current problem. There are various ways to reduce phase noise. The sigma-delta passive adder entrenched (PAE) approach was chosen for the WCDMA system because it provides a spurious level, phase noise, and low stabilization time. Therefore, for WCDMA applications, this study proposes a frequency synthesizer. It is then suggested that the addition of a passive adder before the modulator's quantizer to eradicate any distortions created as a result of the quantization stage. The design factors for the suggested second order synthesizer for 4G are chosen based on the analytical results for all unit of the suggested system and in accordance with WCDMA specifications. The suggested PAE frequency synthesizer for the application of WCDMA reduces noise exact effectively, according to simulation findings. With this synthesizer, the in-band phase noise is -75 dBc/Hz. For frequency synthesizer simulation, MATLAB (R2020) is utilized.

Abstract

The article demonstrates a sample of spectrum in the phosphor-covered WLED (abbreviated as p-WLED) containing one blue chip, one red chip along with phosphors of green and yellow colors. We acquired the p-WLEDs’ ideal spectrum in the CCTs, which is short for correlated color temperature range from 2700 K to 6500 K using a nonlinear program in order to optimize the radiation’s lumen efficiency (LER) when the R9 strong red's color rendering indexes (CRIs) and special CRIs exceed 98. From the outcomes of the recreation, p-WLEDs containing an InGaN blue chip with 450 nm wavelength, an AlGaInP red chip with 634 nm wavelength, along with green and yellow silicate phosphors with the value of 507 and 580 nm wavelength correspondingly; can produce white lights with CRI values of around 98 and particular CRI values of R9 for intense reds above 98. For saturated red, yellow, green, and blue colors, the average values of the particular CRIs R9 through R12 exceed 95. In CCT values of 2700 K to 6500 K, the R13 value in female figures is around 100, with LER values reaching 296 lm/W.
