Abstract

Risk portfolio on modern finance has become increasingly technical, requiring the use of sophisticated mathematical tools in both research and practice. Since companies cannot insure themselves completely against risk, they have to manage it to yield an optimal portfolio. The objective here is to minimize the variance among all portfolios, or alternatively, to maximize expected return among all portfolios that has at least a certain expected return. Furthermore, this study focuses on optimizing risk portfolio so called Markowitz MVO (Mean-Variance Optimization). Some theoretical frameworks for analysis are arithmetic mean, geometric mean, variance, covariance, linear programming, and quadratic programming. Moreover, finding a minimum variance portfolio produces a convex quadratic programming, that is minimizing the objective function    with constraints  and . The outcome of this research is the solution of optimal risk portofolio in some investments that could be finished smoothly using MATLAB R2007b software together with its graphic analysis.

Abstract

Radial Basis Function Neural Network is a large group of neural network model which has  distance between the input vector to the prototype vectors that are the inputs of hidden units. The benefits of Radial Basis Function Neural Network to determine the function of regulatory approaches, noisy interpolation, density estimation, optimal classification theory and potential functions. There are some benefits of Radial Basis Function Neural Network, but there is a lack of standard procedures to determine the model of Radial Basis Function Neural Networks on the optimal time series data. This study uses  the data of  foreign tourist visiting  to Yogyakarta in 1994-2006. The data is taken from the amount of input 4 and classes of 3,4,5,6, and 7. Subsequently from them it is determined the center and variance of each class using K-Means clustering method and determined the number of basis functions on the model of Radial Basis Function Neural Network by using forward selection method. The results is that there are five types of centers based on the number of inputs and the number of classes. Based on the acquired centers, by using forward selection for the number of classes 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 it is obtained by consecutive number of basis functions 3, 3, 4.6, and 7.

Abstract

The Calculation of minimum capital charges with LGD model of AIRB approach is one of ways to calculate the credit risk weight, a part of banks efforts in managing the risks occurred because of defaulted debtors. In the AIRB approach, it is required components risks required to calculate the minimum capital charges, namely Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD),   Maturity (M). In addition, this model is also needed other risk components, namely: Conditional Probability of Default (CPD), Conditional Loss Given Default (CLGD) and Maturity Adjustment (MatAd). CLGD is a form of LGD modeling where the CLGD formulation formed by using beta distribution.

Abstract

In this paper, its discussed about the model re-training for workers in a company. To improve the quality of workers is usually held training (training) for workers, especially new workers or junior employees. However it is also the possibility of retraining for workers who decline spirit. The condition was one of the bases in formulating a model of retraining for workers in a company. Mathematical models for retraining discussed is a model re-training for workers based on an assessment of his colleagues. This model is shaped system of differential equations. In this model there are two equilibrium points namely the trivial equilibrium point and non-trivial equilibrium point. Local stability of the trivial equilibrium point of time fulfilled the conditions of the reproductive number is essentially less than one. This means that for a long time a good worker does not need to be a master so that workers do not re-training. Numerical simulation is given by taking the value of certain parameters that describe the changes in population size of each class of a time.

Abstract

The confidential information that sent via an insecure communication channels like the internet, have a greater risk to be tapped by the parties are not entitled to know the confidential information. One of the things that can be done is to encrypt information into code that can not be understood. Art and science to keep the confidentiality of information is called cryptography. Historically, cryptography has been used since ancient Roman times, world war, until the digital age and information technology as it is today. From the beginning of its development, the method used for the encoding process using simple calculations. Along with the development of technology, the methods used are also growing, such as the use of computers with mathematical calculations are complicated. One area of ??Mathematics that has a very important role in cryptography is algebra. Many of the methods used in cryptography using algebraic operations are defined over an algebraic structure, as in the group, ring and field. In this paper, its discussed about several applications of algebra that used in cryptography, especially on the structure of algebra (abstract algebra) and linear algebra. Given cryptographic method is Caesar cipher, shift cipher, permutation cipher, Hill cipher, ElGamal and RSA.

Abstract

The purposes of this paper are determined of gcd (greatest common divisor) and lcm (least common multiple) using division table. Namely: pair number (two or more numbers) is included in the columns on the first line. Then do the division with the least prime number of form rows in the table. The division will stop if the pair number cannot be common divided (or the numbers are relatively primes). Numbers which cannot be common divided the rest of the division. The determine gcd is equal to multiple of all the numbers in the first column. And the determining lcm is equal to multiple all numbers in the first column and last row.

Abstract

Competence of graduates of vocational education should meet the needs of the individual students, of society, and of business. Thus, in determining and preparing these competencies should consider the needs of users and the development of graduates, if not then certainly the graduates produced is not absorbed by the business or industry. The number of users of vocational education graduates is problematic in the preparation of competence, hence the Delphi Technique as a needs assessment can be used. Delphi technique is a technique to find solutions through consensus by giving kuisener iteratively to many respondents without a meeting or discussion.

Abstract

Rabies is a fatal zoonotic viral disease caused by a virus which attacks the central nervous tissue. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), every year as many as 55,000 people die because they were infected by rabies virus. It is estimated as many as 95% of the incident occurs in Africa and Asia. Almost 99% of the transmission of rabies virus to humans is caused by dogs. It required some efforts to halt the spread of rabies. Some of which is by vaccination and culling the dogs. A mathematical model is required to analyze those efforts so that they became optimal when they applied to the field. Dogs population can be divided become two compartment as healthy (X) and infected dogs ( ). The model will be analyzed using linearization method to determine the characteristics of the population dynamics of healthy and infected dogs. To strengthen the analytical results, will be simulated using Runga-Kutta 4th order method. The result of the research showed that vaccination and culling methods are less effective in eradicating rabies, but by doing a certain level of vaccination and culling level of dogs, the eradicating of rabies spreading still can be done as long as it meets certain criteria.
