The purpose of this study was to develop a curriculum model which included local primacy based on the principles of social reconstruction curriculum in West Nusa Tenggara. This study was a developmental research which adopted and modified Borg Gall developmental model (1983) with the following stages: (1) needs analysis; (2) model development; and (3) model validation. The results of needs analysis indicated that coral reef materials were the main priority of local primacy integrated into the secondary school curriculum in West Nusa Tenggara. The principles of social reconstruction curriculum were implemented in three components as the result of model design, i.e. learning objectives, learning methods (organizational learning strategies, learning delivery strategies, and learning management strategies), and learning results or assessment. The product design model was embraced in instructional tools consisting of syllabus, topic formulation and basic competence, comic learning materials, and assessment instruments. Based on the assessment qualifications on the instructional tools validation test which included three aspects, namely the content aspect, the display aspect and the accuracy aspect of language use, the mean scores were 3.4, 3.8, and 3.4 respectively. Therefore, the overall instructional tools were in a very good category.Â

This study aims to explore cognitive assessment techniques based on teaching experience. The method in this study uses a descriptive survey with data collection techniques using purposive sampling of tutors who have taught at PKBM for 5 years. The population in this study were PKBM (Pusat Kegiatan Masyarakat or Community Learning Center) tutors in Jakarta at Package A, Package B, and Package C, namely 158 tutors with details as follows; Package A 45 tutors, Package B 53 Tutors, and Package C 60 tutors. Data collection was done by using question forms and data analysis used descriptive translation to obtain an average frequency of learning assessment techniques. The statistical analysis used Confirmatory Factor Analysis, so that it can be seen directly and indirectly. The results showed that the dominant assessment technique used in non-formal science tutors was a written test that averaged 32 times in one semester. A group of tutors with 5 to 10 years of teaching experience using a variety of assessment techniques. Descriptively, it can be said that the use of the frequency spectrum of cognitive assessment techniques is coupled with experienced tutors with a tendency in written tests. In this study, the results show that the preparation of assessment in non-formal education there is an influence between the preparation of the assessment of the implementation of the assessment. So it is necessary to improve tutor assessment preparation.

It is necessary to build students’ responsibility character when dealing with life problems such as environmental pollution. Because there is much pollution, it is important for students to analyze the condition of the polluted environment because they are expected to overcome the problems. The effort made is to teach students using problem-based learning modules. This module contains material of macrozoobenthos diversity as bioindicators of river water quality. This study aims to determine the effect of macrozoobenthos diversity as a bioindicator module based on problem-based learning on students’ environmental attitudes. The research design is quasi-experimental using a nonrandomized control group pretest-posttest design. The sample in this study was 60 students divided into experimental class and control class. The test results showed that the significance value for PBL modules is 0,016 ≤ 0.005, so the hypothesis is accepted. There is a difference between students who use the PBL module, which improves students’ environmental attitudes than science textbooks. Students’ initial environmental attitudes also influence it.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the changes in learning between learning before using the STEAM method and learning after using the STEAM method. Where the researchers analyzed the process of student activities in learning, namely in the course of making learning media to determine the ability of students to think creatively in developing the students' knowledge. In obtaining research data, researchers used an assessment score reference instrument, where the final product assessment was assessed by subject lecturers, learning media expert lecturers, and linguistics (language) lecturers. To find out whether there is a change in the ability to think creatively in each learning process before and after learning, the researcher uses a hypothesis test using the t-test. To find out whether there is a change in ability positively, namely the ability to think creatively in each learning process before and after learning, the researcher uses a hypothesis test using the t-test to find out this. It can be seen from the increase in the average learning outcomes before and after with an increase in the difference of 2.26 from the average before using the STEAM method in learning, which is 78.26. The results of the analysis test explain that the learning method using STEAM in learning has a positive impact on learning where students experience a significant average increase before and after being given learning using the STEAM method by providing hands-on experience through the project work process.

This paper aims to determine the validity of the LAB-MADI module using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Percentage Calculation Method (PCM). The survey was conducted through the evaluation of six experts via purposive sampling. The instrument used for the evaluation was the content validity instrument. Based on the results of the analysis, the mean scores of CVI and PCM of the LAB-MADI module were 0.97 and 87.22%, respectively while the mean scores of CVI and PCM of eight practical activities based on the seven stages of the MADI model were 0.98 and 81.88% respectively. The results of the study indicate that the module has high validity in the six criteria assessed (suitability for target students, feasibility, time allocation and improving the dependent variables under study: argumentation skills, science process skills and concepts of diffusion and osmosis). Therefore, this module has great potential as a good module. This module is therefore recommended to be used and tested for its effectiveness. The module is also a form of alternative teaching method to guide biology teachers so that they can add value to students in terms of argumentation skills, science process skills and Biology concepts through practical work.
