Abstract

The need for drinking water is increasing, along with the total population, while the presence of waterresources for drinking increasingly limited. This study aims to explain the pattern of distribution of drinkingwater refill outlets . Data analysis using descriptive method, served with tables and figures. In Semarangregency, in 2005 there were forty outlets refill drinking water, increased approximately doubled over the lastten years. increased almost doubled over the last tens years. The existence OAMIU located in severalvillages/wards, formed a pattern of random distribution, related to the accessibility of the area andpopulation agglomeration. Ungaran Barat subdistrict, became one of the areas that have the most numberOAMIU, such as central government, social, and economic population. Abstract

Gunungpati District is one of the districts in the city of Semarang, which has developed rapidly. Developmentcontinues, both physical and nonphysical. In education, District Gunungpati have different characteristics with otherdistricts in the city of Semarang. One of them can be seen from the level of Coarse Participation Number (CPN) andPure Partisipation Number (PPN) is very low (less than 100%). These conditions coupled with the presence of school(junior and high school) who distributions not in accordance with the development and distribution of population.Permendiknas No. 24 Year 2007 has set a school was established. The aim of this research are (1) understand thespread of CPN and PPN in the District Gunungpati, (2) availability of educational facilities available. The focus of thisresearch is the spread of CPN and PPN, the distribution patterns or patterns of distribution of school location, servicelevel educational facilities, and the suitability of the location of schools (affordability, distribution patterns, and sitecondition). Subsequently analyzed using descriptive analysis, service level, spatial analysis and spatial analysis(nearest-neighbor index). The results showed that the level CPN and PPN, both junior and senior high schools inDistrict Gunungpati in the year 2014 less than 100%. Judging from the condition of the tread, the utilization of theenvironment around the school remained largely in the form of vacant land, mixed forest and plantations. So it is stillpossible to do development. In fisografis, location of schools are on a flat area with a level of natural hazards(landslides and floods) is relatively low.

Abstract

Surface erosion is one of the determining variable of critical watershed, this related to river basin managementwhich always prioritized to critical land . Along with land use changes that lower watershed function, theassessment of land use change on surface erosion becomes very important. The research was conducted oncatchment of Mrica reservoir, especially in Serayu, Merawu, Lumajang, and Liangan. The data input of land usechanges are from 2001-2009 that using Landsat TM and ALOS. The soil loss calculating method is MUSLE(Modified Universal Soil Loss Equation). DEM data as a function of slope can be used to analyze at pixel level ofaccuracy, soil data as erodibility function, and discharge as erosivity function. Musle analysis results indicatethat the average surface erosion of Mrica reservoir catchment are 16,775,896 tons per year or 11,183,931 m3 peryear, equivalent to the soil loss thickness as 16:13 mm per year. Result of land use changes effect to surfaceerosion in the research area are moor, plantations, and scrub with R :0.85 positive correlation; 0.84, and 0.86.Forest, correlates negatively to the surface erosion with R coefficient: 0.88. Thus, managing land use with highcorrelation coefficient will greater impact to suppress soil loss/ erosion.

Abstract

Manggar reservoirs located in the Village Karangjoang District of North Balikpapan is a major water sourcewith 900 lt/sec. Water quality status of Maggar Reservoir in 2013 showed in heavy polluted condition (BLHBalikpapan, 2013). Water quality measured remains fluctuate where a water quality decline to 4th. To find themain pollution, required the pollutant sources analysis and water capacity of Manggar Reservoir. Sources ofpollution can be natural or anthropogenic. The study used quantitative methods are corroborated by qualitativeanalysis. Debit calculation using rainfall Peanman conversion approach, the analysis capacity of the reservoirusing a guide Minister Of Environmental No. 28 of 2009. The critical peak flow inlet in August at 2.8 m3/sec.While the peak on dry season occurs in August, September and October. The dominant pollution load caused bynatural sources podzolic soil that is acidic and dissolves the high levels of iron in the rocks. This causes afluctuate decrease of oxygen dissolved. While the burden of pollution from human activities is still very smallcompared to the power of purification reservoirs. Water quality reservoir capacity are remain good and on level1. There is a significant effect of the wet and dry conditions on water quality. In the wet season, reservoir waterquality tends to have low oxygen dissolved and high Fe.

Abstract

Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Semarang is one of Madrasah Aliyah which has sufficient facilities. However, thelearning process of the school implies y simple learning media. Ideally, along with technology development, geography learning is supposed to utilize the technology and facilities maximally. The purpose of this research isto know the implementation of Google earth media and map digital, and to know the comparison of learningoutcome using Google earth media and using digital map media of fauna distribution. Subject of this research isIPS students in grade XI of MAN 1 Semarang. Experiment group (learning using Google Earth media) is IPS 2students in grade XI while IPS 3 students in grade XI become controller group (learning using digital map). Thisresearch is quasi experimental design. Variable of this research is learning outcome of the student with animaldistribution material using Google earth media, and learning outcome of the students using digital map media offauna distribution. Method of collecting data used documentation, questioner, and test. Analysis of the researchshows thitung >ttabel. It means that hypothesis is approved. Therefore, I can conclude that geography learningoutcome on distribution fauna material using Google Earth media is better than using digital map media ofdistribution fauna.

Abstract

Flood disaster, by number and economic losses, account for about a third of all natural catastrophes throughout theworld. Semarang, as a waterfront city has been suffering from floods since historic time. This research aims to capturepeople’s perception and response to two different kind of flood. The study focused to identify and analyze communityresponse and its relation to their knowledge, preparedness and action level. An exploratory case study based onprimary and secondary data. The primary data were collected through observational study, questionnaires, semistructured interviews, and FGDs. A sample size of 128 was chosen based on purposive sampling methods. The findingsof the study indicated that people in the coastal areas have a high level of knowledge about floods (64%). Thisknowledge is comparatively high on amount of their past experiences of floods; however they lack in preparedness(43%) because most of the residents are fishermen who have low income so they could not must much effort to adapttheir building to flood. On the other hand, people in the inland, they lack in knowledge (18%) because flood iscomparatively recent in their area; but they have a good level of preparedness (24%) because they belong to high andmiddle level income strata. Furthermore, both communities in the coastal area and inland have a high level of actionbecause of a high knowledge and experience for coastal residents and a good preparedness for inland residents. Thisresearch leads to recommendation to improve the adaptive capacity of the people to cope with the floods. Therecommendation is to develop Community-based Disaster Education (CBDE) Framework with the main purpose is toincrease community knowledge about disaster and to enhance community resilience to flood.
