Abstract

Lukulo upstream watershed represents a watershed in Karangsambung Geological Nature Preserve, thisbasin is located administratively in Central Java Province with Area is ± 281,394 km2. In rainy season theriver discharge of upstream lukulo steep increase, while in the dry season is very small. The purpose of thisstudy was to analyze the surface hydrology in relation to the flood discharge in the Lukulo upstreamwatershed using remote sensing data. Data of SRTM image was processed DEM hydro-processing in theform of flow determination and network catchment extraction produced 16 units of sub-drainage. Results ofcoeffitient runoff value estimates using Bransby and Williams method is 58% with flood discharge wasestimated using the rational method at 562, 098 m3/second which had difference with the actual flooddischarge at 1, 662 m3. Value of flood discharge in the Lukulo upstream watershed is relatively large andcan cause flooding /overflowing of rivers in the surrounding area.

Abstract

Pekalongan Regency of Central Java is a region with high risk of disaster. Various kinds of disaster such aslandslide, flood, drought, and tidal flood have somehow become “seasonal customer” for occurring inPekalongan Regency. This research aimed to prepare the mapping of disaster risk in order to strengthen theefforts in reducing disaster risk in Pekalongan Regency. The research method applied in this research refers tothe Head’s Regulation of National Risk Management Agency Number 2/2012. Since the risks of tidal flood werenot yet included in the regulation, the field observation approach was used in this research. The analysis ofdisaster risk also considered the collecting method of disaster history by organizing focus group discussion(FGD) with the related parties. The research result showed that there were high risks of flood disaster coveredsome sub-districts such as Kajen, Kesesi, Wonopringgo, Karangdadap, Tirto, Wiradesa and Wonokerto; therewere twenty six villages in total. High risk of landslide potentially occurred in large part of villages on the southarea of Pekalongan Regency. High risk of drought was relatively evenly spread in the center area. Lastly, highrisk of tidal flood potentially occurred in fifteen villages along side of Java Sea.

Abstract

The groundwater characteristic at Rawa Jombor and surrounding area are very unique. There are aquiferstratified that produce three kinds of water: fresh, marsh, and salty. It’s very interesting to conduct researchfurthermore, about distribution, how is the occurrence, and how potential as geography learning resource in thefield. The research method are quantitative, data gets by measure the physical and chemical properties ofgroundwater. Next step are data analisys: by mapping to understand the distribution, occurance analize to knowthe genesis, and the last step is cross-classification to measure the potential as a learning resource, in suitabilityand relevance to the competence of geography graduates. Based on the physical (salinity) and chemical(electrical conductivity) properties of groundwater measurement, we sure that there are three kinds of water:fresh, marsh, and salty. Most of he aquifer that produce fresh water occurance in the northern swamp (RawaJombor). The genesis is because of this area formed from Merapi vulcan material. Most of he aquifer thatproduce salty water occurance in the southern swamp (Rawa Jombor). The genesis is because of this area formedfrom sea sedimentation that upraised. The marsh water is found at the border of both area. Based on crossclassificationbetween the research object and the standard variabel is known that Rawa Jombor and surroundingarea are suitable and relevance use as learning resource, to support geography competence graduate.
