Abstract

Textile commodity and product textile of SITC 65 and 84 is one of ten main exsport commodities in Indonesia. The biggest market of textile commodity is United States (US). In 2012, 34% of Indonesia textile export is absorbed by US market. Since the 1st January 2005, trading quota on textile commodity in US has been abolished and adjusted to World Trade Organization (WTO) and General agreement on Textiles and Chothing (GATT) regulation. It makes US textile market opens to all countries in the world. The problem on this research is what factors determine the growth of Indonesia textile export to US market before and after quotas abolition. This research aims to explain the determinant that influences Indonesia’s export textiles growth to US. The method used in this research is constant market share (CMS). CMS calculation result shows that the market distribution effect influences the growth of Indonesia textile export to US dominantly either before or after quota abolition. The competitiveness effect has negative influence before the quota abolition. After the quota abolition, competitiveness effect has positive influence on the growth of Indonesia textile export to US. During the research period, commodity composition effect has average negative effect.

Abstract

This study try to analyze a mixed economic system, based on Islamic rules. It is regarded as an ideal system in economic because goverment economic plays role in the system. Nowdays, many concepts of mixed economic system come up but it can not be said as the ideal ones as economic actors’ greediness interferes the systems. The method for analizing data is placing the goverment and private sectors appropriately at a curve of  procuction possibility of private-public goods. There are some findings. The first result shows that the goverment does not need to condunct market operation and price interference with the assumption of the poor can meet their basic needs. Then, Islam views that mixed economic system is the ideal one if goverment and private sector play roles in the system. The role of goverment is to provide goods for public and controll private sectors. Further, the private sectors provide goods for the needs of private. Finally, the finding also shows that there is greediness, appears at the goverment and private system.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between latent variables such as climate, infrastructur, social, economic, policy, institution, technical production and the production of rice farmers. The research locations are 10 districts in Sumbawa and the respondents are 239 farmers. This research is a correlational research that connects two or more variables. The research uses quantitative data. Descriptive statistical analysis and multivariate analysis are used to analize the data. The statistical analysis consists of cross tabulation and chi- square. The cross tabulation is used to test significant using chi-square analysis. Chi-square analysis is used to examine the relationship (association) between several independent variables and the variable of welfare. The multivariate analysis used is Structural Equation Modelling. SEMis used for the study because some variables are unobservable and reciprocal (recursive). The results of study shows that the simultaneous connection of latent variables affects the production of latent variables and the production variables influence the welfare variable.

Abstract

The downward trend in the number of commercial bank offices is driven by the bank's efforts to shift banking transactions from physical branch to digital channels in order to improve efficiency. In prioritizing the branch closure, bank needs to define the appropriate method used in the analysis. This case study is intended to identify the parameter to determine the prioritization of bank branch office closure. This study uses a non-parametric approach of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to examine the efficiency and productivity change of branch offices at one of the large bank in Indonesia. The one-stage DEA was used to generate the relative efficiency score, and the input-oriented Variable Return to Scale (VRS) assumption is adopted in data analysis based on the production approach. The Malmquist Productivity Index was also adopted to measure the total factor productivity change. The DEA result shows that a number of closed branches in 2019 and 2020 were actually considered efficient, with increasing productivity, compared to many other inefficient branches. The efficiency and productivity score can be further used by the bank’s management to evaluate the upcoming branch closure as well as the overall branches efficiency.

Abstract

The Special Province of Yogyakarta does not to allow non-native Indonesian citizens residing in the Province of DIY to possess land titles. This study aims to analyze the effect of ethnic discrimination on poverty by adding control variables such as working capital credit, investment credit, economic and education infrastructure. It employs time series data in the period 2000-2018 and are analyzed using multiple linear regression with ordinary least Square (OLS) model. The results show that working capital credit and investment credit have a negative and significant effect on poverty.  Ethnicity has a positive and significant effect on poverty. Education infrastructure has a significant effect on poverty. The findings imply the need for a review of the policy on the prohibition of land ownership and the need for the performance of the banking sector in the form of lending as well as the need to support human resources improvement through improving educational infrastructure and promoting  the quality of teachers in reducing the number of poor people.
