<![CDATA[Partners of this community service wereMadrasah Aliyah Negeri Parakan and SMK 17 Parakan Temanggung, Temanggung. This community serviceactivity was aimed atovercoming some of the problems faced by the teachers in both partners related to improving the quality of teaching in the class and writing scientific papers. The problems were low quantity and quality of the scientific work of the teachers. This community service included: the workshopof developinginnovative and creative learning media based on curriculum 2013; workshopaction research proposal writing; facilitationduring the implementation and writingthe report of action research; mentoring during the writing of scientific articles based on the results of the action research; and facilitation of scientific articles publication in scientific journals. The product expected in this community service was a collection of learning methods using the scientific approach based on the curriculum of 2013.]]>

<![CDATA[Belum banyaknya pengrajin yang menekuni usaha kerupuk rambak kulit, tentunya membuka peluang bisnis bagi masyarakat. Peluang bisnis dengan pembuatan kerupuk rambak ini salah satunya adalah di Kecamatan Pegandon Kota Kendal, kira-kira 38 km dari ibu kota Jawa Tengah. Permasalahan yang dihadapi mitra dalam pembuatan kerupuk rambak yaitu bahwa untuk pengeringan kulit kerbau/sapi sebagai bahan bakunya sangat tergantung dengan sinar matahari, sehingga apabila cuaca mendung dan hujan, maka proses produksinya mengalami kendala karena bahan baku harus diproses hari itu juga, jadi kalau tidak terproses sudah pasti kulit kerbau/sapi jadi rusak. Solusi yang ditawarkan dalam pengabdian masyarakat IbM ini adalah dengan memanfaatkan teknologi yang mendukung dalam mempermudah, mempercepat, dan melancarkan yang menjadikan peningkatan produksinya, yaitu dengan pembuatan “oven pengering“ yang disesuaikan derajat/temperaturnya matahari. Target khusus adalah peningkatan pendapatan dan taraf ekonomi Kelompok pengusaha kerupuk rambak dan diharapkan menjadi model percontohan yang akan diaplikasikan di tempat lain.]]>

<![CDATA[Cassava Wingko (Wingsing) is a traditional Indonesian food. Wingko is a kind of cake made from cassava, coconut and other ingredients. Wingsing has an important role for economic growth in the Kandrivillage. More foreign tourists are coming to the village Kandri which is a gateway to travel in wadung Jatibarang as wadug Jatibarang in villages Kandri were officially opened. The purpose of this activity was to: improve the quality and capacity of the Wingsing products through improving the production and the management aspects of the industry partners. The outcomes of this activity were; (1) increased understanding of the partner about management concepts and hygienicproduction techniques of Wingsing. (2) marketable Wingsing packaging techniques, (3) writing in national journals, or an accredited journal, or an international journal about Wingsing productionin the village Kandri. The methods used in the IbM consisted of (1) observation to identify the the problems faced bythe Wingsing producers, (2) a discussion meeting with the Wingsing producers to agree on the techniques to overcome the problems, (3) counseling of hygienictechniques of Wingsing production, (6) integrated training and assistance to improve the quality and quantity of products, marketableWingsingpackaging techniques, improved marketing system of Wingsing. The results of this activity indicated an improvement quality and quantity of Wingsing production, which included the results of a more marketable packaging design, understanding about more hygienicWingsing production process. The indirect impact of this activity was on the increase of production and revenue of Wingsing small business venture. Furthermore, the results of activities has been written in an article and have been sent to International Journal of Research in Higher Education published by Sciedu Press in Canada.]]>

<![CDATA[Tujuan kegiatan Ipteks bagi Masyarakat (IbM) ini adalah untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh Mitra IbM di bidang pertanian dan peternakan. Terdapat dua mitra IbM, yaitu kelompok swadaya masyarakat (KSM) “Sembodho†dan kelompok tani “Ngijo Makmur†yang beralamat di kecamatan Gunungpati, Kota Semarang. Sebagai tim pelaksana kegiatan ini melibatkan dosen dan mahasiswa dengan bidang keahlian yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan lapangan. Dalam pelaksanaan dipakai beberapa metode yang saling mendukung, antara lain dengan ceramah/penyuluhan untuk materi yang bersifat teori dan motivasi, demonstrasi/peragaan untuk menyampaikan materi praktek/keterampilan, praktek langsung oleh mitra, dan pendampingan kegiatan. Luaran yang dihasilkan dalam kegiatan ini antara lain: 1) Satu unit reaktor biogas beserta perlengkapannya, 2) Satu unit mesin pencacah limbah pertanian untuk proses pembuatan pupuk kompos, 3) Satu unit mesin pemarut dalam pengolahan pasca panen produk jahe, 4) Peserta terampil membuat produk olahan jahe berupa sirup jahe, 5) Manajemen pengelolaan kelompok tani/kelompok usaha lebih baik, 6)Produk sirup jahe dikemas dengan baik dan mempunyai izin P-IRT.]]>

<![CDATA[This activity was carried out with the aim to resolve the problems faced by the partner with businesses in the field of making traditional ice cream in Semarang. The implementation employed the following methods; with lecture / extension for the theoretical material and motivation, demonstration to deliver practical material / skills, direct practice by partners, and mentoring activities. The results of community service activities are: 1) in the aspect of production, a set of machine ice cream maker was produced, two sets of coconut grater machines, supporting equipment of ice cream production, and the arrangement of the production site, 2) In the aspect business management, the partners have been given assistance on simple accounting, promotions, and marketing of products, 3) the partner may improve the productivity and quality of products that have an impact on increasing revenues.]]>

<![CDATA[Salah satu jenis energi alternatif dan terbarukan, yang sedang digalakkan saat ini adalah penggunaan biogas. Energi biogas merupakan energi yang dihasilkan dari pemanfaatan limbah/kotoran organik.Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk membuat reaktor biogas dan memberikan pelatihan kepada khalayak sasaran tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan biogas sebagai bahan bakar alternatif bagi warga. Sebagai khalayak sasaran masyarakat Desa Jambearum, Kecamatan Patebon, Kabupaten Kendal. Tim pelaksana kegiatan dipilih dari dosen dengan bidang keahlian yang sesuai dan dibantu teknisi dan mahasiswa. Metode pelaksanaaan program menggunakan metode ceramah dan diskusi untuk materi teori, dan praktik langsung untuk materi praktik. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: 1) Telah dihasilkan satu unit reaktor biogas serta dilakukan pelatihan kepada khalayak sasaran tentang bagaimana cara membuat reaktor biogas, 2) Telah dilakukan pelatihan bagaimana cara mengoperasikan reaktor biogas serta memanfaatkan gas yang dihasilkan untuk bahan bakar, 3) Telah dilakukan pelatihan kepada khalayak sasaran tentang bagaimana memanfaatkan limbah biogas untuk diolah menjadi pupuk kompos, 4) Masyarakat menyambut baik kegiatan ini dan mengharapkan adanya tindak lanjut kegiatan.]]>

<![CDATA[The background of this activity has occurred is water pollution in Kaligarang river. Therefore it is necessary efforts to protect the environment along the it. Exercising their activities consist of (1) Preparation, (2) Implementation, and (3) evaluation of the participants are young people in rural districts offense Sukorejo Gunungpati Semarang who live along the Kaligarang river who pass through the village. The event begins with a lecture about the pollution of the river and continued geoelectricity measurements at points predetermined. Geoelectricity measurement results obtained in the field of electric current and potential difference at the point of measurement points. Results showed that the participants in the activity have improved understanding of the geoelectric. It is characterized by the seriousness of the activity when participants perform geoelectric measurements, process data directly in the field. Based on the map sectional resistivity soil layer of field measurement data concluded that there has been a seepage of river water in the area Kaligarang community service activities but seepage is not cause contamination in the soil.]]>

<![CDATA[The Mechanical Engineering Department of Universitas Negeri Semarang received teaching aid grantin 2012 in the form of the “MimioTeach†consisting of MimioView, MimioPad and MimioTouch. However, until now the equipment has not been used optimally due to the lack of training. â€MimioTeach†is rich in features that can simplify the interactive teaching. The objectives of community service were: 1) introducingâ€MimioTeachâ€equipment consisting of Mimio Teach, Mimio Pad, Mimio View to the Lecturers of the Mechanical EngineeringDepartment, 2) trainingthe use of such equipment to the Lecturers of the Mechanical EngineeringDepartment, and 3) assisting Lecturers in using the equipment during their teaching proceess. The method of implementation was a training to use the equipmentduring the teaching proceess of the participants. The subjects of this training weretwenty lecturersof Mechanical Engineering. The results of the activities were 16 lecturers attended the Mimio Teach training in the Mechanical Engineering Department, Universitas Negeri Semarang. Participants were introduced to Mimio devices, were trained how to use it and were guided to operate the Mimio device independently. During the training the participants enthusiastically listened to and watched the demonstration of the use of instructional tools. Participants also asked about things that did not understand. When practical activities, the participants were proven to be able to operate the Mimiodevice. However, a continuous exercise is required to be more proficient.]]>

<![CDATA[In some sub-district in Semarang ubiquitous home household industry in the field of embroidery fabrics and the like, although quite large in number and spread out, but the existing potential has not been developed to the maximum. From field observations of potential home household scale industries in the field of embroidery in the area of Semarang has not been touched by technological advances design by utilizing IT (computer) and software applications to enrich the embroidery design. Based on surveys and direct interviews in several home industries in the field of embroidery are scattered in the region Semarang, that the problems faced can be grouped into three aspects, namely the facilities improvement of HR (human resources) that is knowledgeable about technology upgrading areas of the embroidery design, facilities and equipment, and management production in the field of embroidery where all three aspects are interrelated. This activity aims to answer the problems that exist, namely the training and tutorials embroidery design techniques with computer technology and its application. Improve the manufacturing facilities in the form of embroidery designs embroidery design software applications and the software application tool. Target outcomes that could result from this activity are: 1) Meyelenggarakan training and tutorials on the techniques of embroidery designs with computer technology, 2) Generate a variety of design styles of embroidery rocky computers, 3) pattern model of business management field of the embroidery professionally managed which can improve product in quality and quantity, 4) Improving synergies between universities and the business community in Semarang, 5) Resulting scientific articles in national journals in the context of publication of the results of activitie.]]>

<![CDATA[This activitywas carried out with the aim to explain the importance of planning Arabic language learning based on Curriculum 2013 for teachers of Arabic in Madrasah Tsanawiyah throughout Kebumen district to improve the quality of Arabic language learning. It described the steps of the preparation of lesson planning (syllabus and lesson plan) based on curriculum 2013, and applied them in Arabic language teaching and learning activities in eachMadrasah Tsanawiyah. Alternative solution to these problems that have been applied in this community service was to conduct workshop and training. The conclusion that this activity was the implementation of community service was very useful for the Arabic language teachers in Madrasah Tsanawiyah throughout Kebumen district. With this training, teachers of Arabic Madrasah Tsanawiyahthroughout Kebumen district gained an increased understanding of the importance of the planninglessons based on the curriculum 2013 with the appropriate preparation of syllabi and lesson plans and gained solutions to some of the problems that they faced in learning the Arabic language, especially after the implementation of Curriculum 2013.]]>
