Abstract

The problem of small handmade paper industry comes from the not yet optimal quan- tity and quality of products that ultimately impact on continuity. The production of this paper is subject to weather, material limitations and handmade paper making techniques that ultimately affect  product  continuity.  Consumers  of  handmade  paper  generally  craftsmen  also  want  pa- per that varies in the manufacture of paper products. The objective of the activity is to improve the ability of small industries to improve the quantity and quality of handmade paper and hand- made paper products. Implementation of science and technology in making handmade paper pro- duces 6 variants of paper made from single raw material or mixture of mendong, grass, waste paper and banana debog with synthetic and natural staining and pattern using various forms of leaves. The use of cutting tools that vary and sharp also has produced 6 types of paper boxes made from handmade paper, including a form that is quite difficult to make such as round, oval or heart shape. The manufacture of products for a certain amount has been mastered so that small industries are able to accept orders in a relatively quick time according to the needs of consumers

Abstract

In some districts in Semarang, there are many businessmen in the field of Electrical Welding (SMEs) and the like, although the number is quite large and spread but the potential is not yet developed optimally. From the observation in the field of potential small and medium scale home industry in the field of Electrical Welding in Semarang area has not been much touched by the advancement of design technology by utilizing IT (computer) and application software to enrich its ornament design. Based on the survey and direct interviews in several household industries in the field of electric welding spread in Semarang region, the problems faced can be grouped into three aspects, namely the human resources improvement facility that is the knowledge of technological improvement in the field of fence ornament design and trellis, , and management of production management in the field of Las liistrik where the three aspects are interrelated. This activity aims to answer the existing problems, namely training and tutorial techniques trellis ornament design and fence with computer technology and its application. Improving embroidery design facilities in the form of software applications ornaments trellis design and fence and software application tools. Output targets that can be generated from this activity are: 1) Holding training and tutorial about design technique of electric weld ornament with computer technology, 2)Produce various design patterns of trellis ornaments and computerized fencing, 3) Business model management model of electric weld field managed professionally capable of improving product quality and quantity, 4) Increasing synergy between universities and business community in Semarang, 5) Produce scientific articles in national journal in order to publish the results of the activity

Abstract

Gunungpati Sub-district, Semarang is a special durian fruit producing region. One of the negative impacts of the existence of durian center in Gunungpati area is the volume of garbage leather durian accumulate. To overcome that problem, there needs to be innovation in durian skin waste management by involving the public so that durian leather waste can be utilized to be a product of economic value. One of the potential durian skin is the high essential oil content. Durian leather essential oil contains flavonoid compounds, saponins, and polyphenols that are toxic to pests and mosquitoes that can be utilized to be environmentally friendly vegetable pesticides. Therefore, to overcome the problem of high durian leather garbage volume, it is necessary to conduct commu- nity service activities aimed at providing knowledge to the community about how to increase added value for durian leather waste and provide skills to the community about how to process durian leather waste into biopesticides. In order to achieve the goals and objectives, this community service is carried out through several stages. The first phase is coordination with community leaders and lo- cal government, the second stage is the socialization to partners about the negative impact of durian leather waste and giving material about the potential of durian leather. The second stage is training to provide skills to the partner community on how to process durian leather waste into biopesticides. The third stage is the training activity of the application of biopesticide waste durian skin on the plant. The fourth phase of the activity is monitoring and evaluation. The final stage of this devotional activity is the making of reports and dissemination of devotion through scientific publication. In addition to positive impact on environmental hygiene, community service activities are also useful for empowering the economy of society to be independent and have the spirit of entrepreneurship through the innovative skills of making eco-friendly biopesticides from waste durian.

Abstract

Kelurahan Cepoko is one of 16 urban villages in Gunungpati sub-district. The source of income of Cepoko village residents is in the field of livestock, as much as 77 residents of Cepoko urban village who rely their life in the field of farms, both chicken farms, dairy cows and meat cows. Dairy cattle breeding activities do not provide sufficient income, because the selling price of milk purchased by cooperatives is too cheap, so it can not cover operational costs. Therefore, one of the citizens of SME RW 09 kelurahan Cepoko that is Ibu Ismiyati took the initiative to make processed foods made from milk. Mrs. Ismiyati as a pioneer of milk sticks production business that is personal with employ 5% of women PKK group. Dairy products that have been done just limited to milk stick. Though dairy products have the potential to be developed in order to increase farmers’ income. One of the obstacles to the development of dairy products is the lack of mastery of information on production and marketing techniques by mothers, the limited knowledge and skills of mothers in the processing of milk into products worth selling, causing dairy products are less varied and not devel- oped. The methods undertaken to improve knowledge on milk-based food production techniques are socialization, training and monitoring. PKK ladies are very enthusiastic to follow the milk process- ing into a variety of food products that are proclaimed with the presence of mothers despite the rain, they still spend time attending training activities. PKK ladies become aware of the diversification of products based , and skilled in processing milk into various foods as well as skilled in the produc- tion manejemn such as kenmas and marketing processed products kamanan Participants want more follow-up is more real in terms of assistance and continuous monitoring and marketing of dairy- based food products broadly and poured in MoU between FMIPA and Gunungpati District

Abstract

Quality and production capacity of instant health beverages HEALTHY home industry needs to be im- proved by using instant beverage processing machines. Destination activities to the community ser- vice are: 1) to improve the quality and production capacity of the processing machine instant health drink. ; 2) determine the added value from the use of instant health beverage processing machines;3) designing product packaging instant health drink exciting HEALTHY home industry. Benefits of community service activities are: increasing the value-added plant rhizomes; generating appropri- ate technologies such as instant health machine processing machine; improve the performance of HEALTHY home industry to become more optimal; assist local governments in an effort to improve the quality of life through community service activities. The method of implementation of activities, among others: 1) extension of instant health beverage processing; 2) manufacture of packaging design by using graphic design; 3) making machines using the method of design; 4) training in production, use of tools and treatment methods and practices FAQ; 5) evaluation of the use of the machine using a test method and observation; 6) assistance and consultation methods of discussion. The results of these activities are there to improve the quality and production capacity by using a processing engine instant drinks, deficits improve the added value of the application of machinery to come from reduced labor costs of employees, and a reduction in fuel costs reached lebh of 50% where the process previ- ously done twice into one time. Health beverage product packaging design has been made with credit instant composition, manner of presentation, production, brand, net weight, and the P-IRT permits

Abstract

The agricultural production in Desa Sambong Ledok District of Blora besides rice are also in the form of corn. The world of industry (SMEs) in the village Ledok Sambong Dis- trict of Blora using corn as an ingredient processed into corn flour. Drying corn flour pro- cessed from corn starch by relying on sunlight. By the time the rain drying process encountered resistance  so  that  the  production  decline.  Science  and  technology  program  for  the  Commu- nity (IbM) providing solutions to design and make a dryer for processed corn into cornmeal on SMEs Egg Roll Corn “Patra Sutra” brand and SMEs Corn Crackers “Maju Sejahtera” brand at Desa Sambong Ledok District of Blora. Drying tool is made with a capacity of 20-30 kg of maize  flour can  dry  within  a  day,  this  drying  appliance  can  use  electricity  or  gas  source. The results obtained in this IbM activity is the production can run smoothly and increase product quality corn flour are homogeneous, hyegienic and durable, as well as the drying process which is more efficient

Abstract

The target of this devotion is to make the enterprise of toast bread “Maju Terus Jaya” helps making the milling machine of toast bread dough that has quality. And for the “Ivan” toast bread enterprise is uploading the advertisement on the internet in order to be better known by the so- ciety surrounding Sampangan, Semarang and making the packaging of toast bread wrapper. Method to resolve the problem is using several ways that supporting one and the others and adapted with the steps that will be done. The steps of the method as follows: counseling, demonstrations, train- ing, making an advertisement and mentoring. The results of this activity to the enterprise of toast bread “MajuTerus Jaya” is the manufacture of a dough milling machine that produces qualified toast bread with the inside structure that more subtle, chewy, and soft. And for the enterprise of toast bread “Ivan” has been successfully created an advertisement that is uploaded on the internet and making the packaging of toast bread wrapper more attractive. The impact of the results of activity that done is the production of toast bread that is sold being able to increase so that the net profit of the enterprise of toast bread “Maju Terus Jaya” and the selling of toast bread “Ivan” increases

Abstract

Vinasse waste, which is a by-product of the alcohol industry, has polluted the rice field en- vironment in the Bekonang, Sukoharjo and surrounding villages. This problem arises into the realm of law with the publication of a law on alcohol which prohibits low-level alcohol producers to sell to the public. This regulation increasingly discourages alcoholic craftsmen who are mostly used as raw materials in herbal and medicinal industries. In addition to the narrower marketing, they are also confronted by farmers who are angered by the environmental pollution of vinasse waste that for decades has only been dumped into irrigation flows without treatment. Field observations and preliminary studies on vinasse waste content found no harmful ingredients to the environment ex- cept high acidity (4.5). The rest is the content of organic materials that can be utilized to fertilize the soil. Therefore waste alcohol should be processed with the addition of complementary organic materials to be used as a medium to grow probiotic bacteria that are very good for soil and plants. This activity is intended to provide education on how to process waste vinasse into liquid fermen- tation  fertilizer  that  can  be  utilized  by  local  residents  and  society  in  general.  Activity  method that will be done is socialization about potential waste vinasse, making waste processing equip- ment,  giving  skill  to  make  liquid  fermentation  fertilizer  and  applying  it  to  cassava  plant  land. These  activities  are  expected  to  generate  positive  perception  changes  and  increase  knowl- edge of craftsmen and farmers in addressing vinasse waste issues. In addition, both parties are able  to  treat  the  harmful  waste  into  probiotic  bacteria  and  fertilizer  products  with  high  qual- ity. With this activity, the source of conflict of Bekonang village community will decrease slow- ly along with the socialization of the results of the activity to the wider community and the as- sistance  of  the  village  government  as  the  administrative  responsibility  of  Bekonang  village

Abstract

The village of Sekaran is one of the villages located close to the UNNES Campus. The cur- rent Village of Sekaran villagers are in addition to the natives, UNNES students who rent houses or boarding in the area, and some are urban, or urban, people who prefer suburban residences. Some of the land in the village of Sekaran has turned into housing and one of the closest housing of the cam- pus is Sekar Gading Housing. Residents in Housing Sekar Gading, especially the mothers belonging to Dasa Wisma are very hungry for various activities based on environmentally friendly. One of the activities they want is how to make organic fertilizer especially from household waste. Therefore, the initial plan of activities originally in the village of Banyuwindu devotees move to the village of Sek- aran, especially in Housing Sekar Gading. The main reason for moving the location because after coordination several times Banyuwindu community difficult to determine the time of activity, while the implementation time of service activities should be as soon as possible. While the choice of loca- tion in Housing Sekar Gading because of the welcome and enthusiasm of people in the housing is very good. Targets to be achieved in this activity is the increasing understanding of the community in Housing Sekar Gading in managing waste independently, the community is able to utilize local mi- croorganisms as an environmentally friendly composting material, and can reduce the dependence on the use of chemical fertilizers. The outcomes of this devotional activity are 1) articles for national seminars or journals, 2) appropriate technology (TTG) of local potential waste-based waste manage- ment. The results achieved in this activity is organic fertilizer products using local microorganisms.
