Abstract

Buku ini penting baik bagi akademisi, dosen, pengajar atau siapapun yang ingin mengetahui beragam cara agama diajarkan di sekolah-sekolah umum maupun sekolah swasta dari 53 negara di dunia. Bagaimana memberikan pandangan yang kaya mengenai banyak jalan yang telah dilalui oleh berbagai negara ketika bergulat dengan isu-isu mengenai toleransi, terlebih lagi mengenai rasa saling menghormati antara penganut agama dan kepercayaan yang berbeda-beda. Buku ini juga memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam membangun masyarakat yang sensitive, mau menerima perbedaan dan saling menghargai entitas keberagamaan lain.

Abstract

Urban settlements in general are always experiencing rapid growth due to the space requirements forthe population residence. Villages as part of the urban settlements also get the impact of the problemsof urban development. Top-down system of government just make people as objects of development,so that can not reach the needs of the community. But with the bottom-up system of government,the public can determine an activity based on the needs and capabilities of its people. Therefore, theobjectives of this study were (1) to identify the forms and motifs of public participation, (2) identify thecapacity of community organizations, (3) identify the level of participation of society as a whole. Thisstudy used a qualitative descriptive analysis and used the case study method as a sample of 84 people inLorotan village, Malang city. The results show that: (1) the tendency of the usual forms of participationis social, power, thoughts and wealth. For community participation motives, motives tend to be basedon psychology, (2) based on the results of the analysis of the capacity of community organizations, thereare three organizations that have a high capacity, namely, PKK, karang taruna and community forum,(3) the level of community participation overall in character of the study area, already showing the levelof participation in the second degree participation. It is an added value in the study area are communityable to achieve the highest level of participation without government interference.

Abstract

Indonesian national food sovereignty is very dependent on the supply of rice from paddy fields in Java Island. Various factors influence the farmer’s decision to continue using his farm. This study aims to analyze the sustainable use of paddy field, determinant factors and strategies for improving sustainability. The study was conducted in Karawang Regency, one of the centers of rice production in West Java. The methodology used is a multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) using 43 attributes of 5 dimensions (ecological, social, economical, technological and legal and institutional dimension). Against the sensitive attribute analysis resulting from MDS, a prospective analysis was conducted to determine the key factors of sustainability. Priority policies for improving sustainability are developed based on the location of the key factors in the prospective diagram. The research results showed that the land utilization for paddy field in Karawang is actually less sustainable. Increasing the sustainability can be done through intervention and improving performance, preferably on sensitive attributes resulting from leverage analysis, covering 16 attributes. Priority policies is directed in the 5 key factors resulting from prospective analysis. Policies suggested are the tightening of new permits for building, strict implementation of the official spatial land use planning and delineation of agricultural land for sustainable food crops, counseling the community, revitalizing the role of BULOG, provision of subsidies as well as capital assistance to farmers.

Abstract

It is very interesting to study and examine the history of Mongolian nation. First, they were nomadicand uncivilized nation, but after Mongol had developed, they became an important general in theworld. One of the Golden Age of Mongolian Nation, after they had accepted Islam. Islamic spirit becameprominent characteristic during the period of the government of Golden Hordé Dynasty, which alsopopular with Kipcak Dynasty. This dynasty developed and became a new political authority, whichwas respected by the other dynasties. Based on the Islamic doctrine, they developed their governmentpolicy. Although Golden Hordé kept on their tradition, Islam still became dominant. This study focuson the process of regeneration and the change of political authority in the realm of Mongol. By usingcomprehensive literature approach, this study takes an important theme, which is rarely expressed byother studies. The contribution (originality) of this study is very important for Muslim community nowand in the future.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility activities ideally be felt by the West Bandung Regency, where The West Bandung Regency has now transformed into an industrial area. This change of course, like the two-edged sword, the meaning is the presence of the company is actually able to provide changes in the economy for local communities, in an effort to prepare for the MEA, but on the other hand an industrial presence in West Bandung Regency giving new homework in terms of environmental management and the company's contribution to increasing local revenues of West Bandung regency. Whereas CSR is expected to become one of the company's contributions to improving the competitiveness of West Bandung Regency society. In other words, the company's contribution through Corporate Social Responsibility activities, become the hope of West Bandung regency government in building the human resources of competitive and independent and prosperous. Therefore, this study aims to dig deeper into the synergy of government and companies on CSR activities in order to face the MEA. This research is using qualitative descriptive method through data collection techniques of interviewing and observation. The results of this research indicate that in practice between the government and companies there are communication problems, therefore it is necessary to build appropriate communication models between the government and the companies as well as the community called tripartite corporate social responsibility so that corporate social responsibility activities better planned, targeted and sustainable.

Abstract

The decent work has become an obligatory in the tourism industry. This work has been able to ensureproperly the needs of workers, families, and their social life, productive and prosperous. This researchfocuses on the study of generated effects of the decent work. Theoretical framework of the ILO decentwork (2009a) was used as the guidance framework to answer and find the actual implementation inthe tourism industry.The study used quantitative method as the basis of analysis towards the datawhich were collected through questionnaires. The result indicated that the effect of the decent work onthe development of tourism industry reached 68%. This result was in good enough category scale. Inthe scope of this value, the decent work showed the empirical reality gave further effect towards thetourism forms based on prosperity and sustainability

Abstract

The earthquake disaster in 2006 and the eruption of Merapi Volcano in 2010 have a different impact on the community activities in the province of Yogyakarta. The aims of this research are: (1) to analyze the role of gender based on differences in the characteristics of the Merapi eruption in Sleman and Bantul earthquakes; (2) to find the socio-economic variables which influence toward the role of gender in the characteristics of the Merapi eruption in Sleman and Bantul earthquakes. This research is using quantitative and qualitative methods. The research population is farming communities who live in the Padasan Sub-village of Sleman District and Serut Sub-village of Bantul District. Sampling technique is purposive. Data collection techniques are survey method, in-depth interview, and review of literature. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the percentage of gender roles. Regression analysis was used to determine the variables that affect the gender role in social and economic. The results of the descriptive analysis show that there are similarities and differences in roles between men and women in the Serut Sub-village of Bantul District and Padasan Sub-village of Sleman District despite have a different disaster. Women in the daily cycle spent more time at home during days and nights to do housework. The results of regression analysis show that there is no influence of age, education, and income to the women role in the earthquake disaster in Serut Sub-village of Bantul District and volcano eruption in Padasan Sub-village of Sleman District.

Abstract

Muslim Fashion has transformed to be cultural industry profitable financially. The flourish of Muslimfashion producers certainly needs business strategy to promote the products. Advertisement becomesone of promotional tools that can communicate product excellence. Moreover advertisement in massmedia gives space for producer to visualize image of product wanted especially when the advertisementis promoted in Muslim mass media. In semiotic tradition, advertisement does not only communicateproduct for sale but it has ideology constructed by both advertiser and advertising company in order toestablish in consumers’ thought including Muslim fashion that is no longer clothes for covering body inaccordance with Islamic syariah. Narrative semiotics can be understood as effort of recounting or rereada subject from overall text or message to view narrative or plot from signs in this case, it is advertisement.Advertisement basically is assumed as a narrative that tells certain meanings therefore advertisement iscreated also published through media in order to influence readers. In Greimas’ opinion, advertisementis considered as text that has actant that becomes model or subject organizing plot in a text as destinator/sender, receiver, subject, object and also adjuvant even traitor/resistor. By using Greimasian semiotic,this research reveals latent meaning inside Muslim fashion advertisement that shows Muslim fashionproduced by Muslim house especially ZeaTM Zenura brand basically not only just communicating Muslimfashion advertisement but also constructing myths that the fashion is Muslim fashion for family and verysuitable to wear in special events such as Muslim celebration day, Idul Fitri 1433 H

Abstract

This study describes four reliefs of Ramayana Prambanan which depicts the event that Ade beenexperienced and performed by Rama as affirmation that he is the incarnation of Vishnu ―the god of thepreserver. The designer and sculptor of those reliefs considered that this event was important. Fromthe twenty-four of Ramayana’s relief panels, there are four relief panels which depict this event. Datawas collected by observing the entire Ramayana reliefs in Shiva temple and Brahma, in the Prambanancomplex. Relief was read by using the Flat Time Space (RWD) theory and compared with the textof the Old Javanese Ramayana (RJK). RJK text was used as a comparison, because the manufactureand the writings of RJK relief were made in the same period in nine centuries. It was conceivable thatboth of them were made from the same source. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the eventperformed by Rama asserts that he is the incarnation of Vishnu. As the incarnation of Vishnu, Rama isable to purify and to preserve life.

Abstract

This article aims to examine how islah or reconciliation was achieved by Nahdlatul Wathan’s elites. The conflict of NW in 1998 is a protracted one because the negotiation process of islah failed. Both groups did not find an appropriate point or an ideal format of islah proposal. Through long way process of negotiation, taking more than one decade, finally both group achieved an agreement of islah in May 2010. This article aims to explore the backgrounds and motivations of NW islah between both groups, as well as describe the efforts of undertaken by NW elite for conducting islah during times of conflict. This article also aims to understand what the format of islah has been achieved and how the NW maintain the continuity of islah commitment and agreement. This article is based on ethnographic research undertaken over a period of two years (2008-2010) in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The collecting and analyzing of data was done using the qualitative method; the collection of data was done using thetechniques of participant-observation, in-depth interview, and focus group discussion.Keywords: Islah, Politic, Conflict, Nahdlatul Wathan
