Abstract

Natural zeolite is a mineral that are widely available in Indonesia. Among many other benefits, the natural zeolite can be used as an adsorbent to reduce water pollutant caused by ammonia compounds and combination of derivatives. This research aimed to study the effect of natural zeolite dealumination on the adsorption properties of ammonium hydroxide (NH4OH). Dealumination effect was studied by varying the concentration of HNO3 (0.5 N, 5 N and 10 N). The adsorption process of NH4OH was observed by studying the adsorption time with amount of NH4OH adsorbed on the surface of the zeolite. In addition, also studied the effect of heating (calcination) after dealumination to the NH4OH uptake. In this study, NH4OH adsorbed on zeolite surface was observed by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR). Results were showed that the amount of NH4OH adsorbed on H- zeolite has a maximum (80.8%) at 5 N HNO3. From the calcination process, it was noted that H-zeolite undergo calcination process has higher NH4OH adsorption capacity than that of the H-zeolite without a calcination process. FTIR analysis was showed that NH4OH adsorbed on the surface of H- zeolite on Brønsted acid peak.

Abstract

Making doughnut in a small-scale industry generally has a problem with inappropriate equipment and easy to be broken like using hand mixer. In its gearbox, the cylindrical worm gear usually made of plastic so that will easy to worn. With the use gearbox type bevel gear made of metal, then the mixer would able to overcome the problem of dough mixing where the gearbox of this type can overcome the large load with high rotation, so that the capacity of the mixer can be enlarged so that it will increase the results of work productivity. The design method begins with observation of the impact of performance, efficiency, needs and ergonomics and then proceed with the design concept of the tool design, calculation of the construction of the tool and its components and the last phase is testing of the tool by trial and error. Calculations were made to the components that will be assembling such as axis, pegs, bearings, bevel gear and its gear ratio, then the construction framework of the mixer and the container for the dough to be stirred. From the calculation results obtained from the capacity of the hand mixer with the use of 7 kg / hour, the bevel gear mixer can improve productivity results with a larger capacity of 18 kg / hour or increased by 225% compared to hand mixer capacity.

Abstract

In Indonesia, the development of industry is developing and cause tight competition among companies so that company is prosecuted to work more effective and efficient. PT. Wahana Interfood Nusantara is a process industry that has high production volume characteristics and product standards. Expiration factor is a factor that must be considered for the company, because it greatly affects the quality of the resulting product. The basic model of inventory system used is the inventory model Economic Order Quantity (EOQ). It is developed into an Economic Order Interval (EOI) model with expiration time, as the raw material expiration period is known and the firm minimizes the amount expired by determining fixed material order intervals. Based on the inventory system design considering the minimization of total inventory cost, the company can determine the amount of raw material order and time of ordering.

Abstract

In operation, the bridge structure is subjected to load variation both in the form of static load and dynamic load in variation of load intensity and frequency. In bridge structures made of steel structures, dynamic loading conditions can cause loosening of bolts, cracks and even structural failures. This paper describes the method of determining the damping bridge constant (c) by the logarithmic decrement calculation method of the vibration data generated by the impulse load. Furthermore the damping constant is used to calculate the vibration response equation of the structure along with the mass constant (m) and the stiffness of the structure (k). The mass constants are obtained by measurement whereas the stiffness constant of the structure is obtained by FEM modeling for open and closed structure models. The results of the analysis will be used to interpret the pattern of failed structures in the development of the diagnostic system. The calculation of damping constant for open and closed model is 0.07556 and 0.12513, while mass and stiffness constant for closed and open model model is 18 kg and 9 kg and 9523809.524 N / m and 183486.2 N / m for stiffness constant.

Abstract

Bamboo is widely used as a product application material. More and more enthusiasts of products produced with bamboo laminate materials require special equipment with good performance for production. The existing bamboo laminate production equipment still requires much innovation for that purpose, which required improvement and addition of mechanism to improve its performance. The addition of a motion mechanism to the bamboo splitting tool improved the tool performance by 54%, and decrease in rolling time for bamboo from 23 seconds to 0.85 seconds. Increased performance of bamboo splitter will have a positive impact on production costs for small and medium enterprises, thereby increasing profits and increasing the competitiveness of products.

Abstract

The emphasis of the agricultural industry in Indonesia lies in the program of increasing food security, agribusiness development and improving the welfare of farmers. The priority of food security in establishing the independence of farmers in maintaining local resources efficiently and optimally, so that resources can be utilized further. The objectives of the research are to mapping the leading food processing industry, the determination of the leading local resources, the formation of documentation and the making of Geographic Information System (GIS) application to support the improvement of food processing industry in order to independence and food security, the growth and development of food industry in the region. The method of conducting research with data collection of food processing industry in Central Java Province by making data base and taxonomy, mapping of food processing industry in regency/city and making of digital portal with feature of data component of food processing industry to more introduce superior food processing industry to the public. The achieved results are documentation of leading food processing industry and GIS formation for all regencies/cities of Central Java Province, to encourage the improvement of food processing industry, real industrial income, processing quality and increasing self-sufficiency of food processing industry.

Abstract

Elephantiasis is a chronic disease (chronic) that could attack humans and animals, and causes a permanent disability if not immediately given treatment. Some filaria species in Indonesia include Wuchereria bancrofti, Brugia malayi, and Brugia timori. The main goal in the early treatment of people with this disease is to eradicate parasites or larvae that develop in the patient's body, so that the level of transmission can be reduced. To help identifying the type of microfilaria that develops in the body of the patient, the authors took the initiative to create a computer-assisted program that is expected to recognize microfilaria on peripheral blood preparation. In this case, there are 4 stages of analysis of the microscopic images, namely image readings, preprocessing, segmentation, and shape analysis to identity the microfilaria.

Abstract

Manual Material Handling process often caused a danger to the health and safety workers, such as accidents at work and injured muscle (musculoskeletal disorder) on the part of worker’s body. In this study will suggest to improve the alternative of manual handling in Menjangan soy sauce factory. From di proposed result that the work force on segment of the worker’s body smaller than the work force by using the old way. With a smaller force, the moment that occurs will be samller, so that the work load becomes lighter. With a lighter work load can minimize the possibility of a muscle injury in the works.

Abstract

Mikroalga saat ini dipromosikan sebagai bahan baku biofuel generasi ketiga yang ideal karena laju pertumbuhannya yang cepat, kemampuan fiksasi CO2 dan kapasitas produksi lipida yang tinggi; Mereka juga tidak bersaing dengan makanan atau tanaman pakan, dan bisa diproduksi dilahan yang tidak dapat dipanen. Mikroalga mampu menghasilkan 15-300 kali lebih banyak minyak untuk produksi biodiesel daripada tanaman tradisional berdasarkan area. Selanjutnya dibandingkan dengan tanaman konvensional yang biasanya dipanen sekali atau dua kali setahun, mikroalga memiliki siklus panen yang sangat singkat, sehingga menghasilkan banyak atau panen terus menerus dengan hasil panen yang meningkat secara signifikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi sifat fisikokimia dan komposisi minyak yang diambil dari dua jenis bubuk mikroalga kering, Nannochloropsis sp. Dan Tetraselmis sp. Bio-oil diekstraksi dari sampel alga kering. Ekstraksi bio-oil dilakukan dengan ekstraksi pelarut dengan mencampur pelarut kloroform-metanol. Komposisi minyak alga ditentukan dengan analisis kromatografi gas. Hasilnya menunjukkan 20-29% jumlah minyak disemua sampel alga. Tetraselmis sp. Menunjukkan jumlah minyak maksimal 28,1%.
