Journal Of Information Systems or abbriviated as JIS is a jorunal that published by Major Of Information Systems Faculty of Computer Science Sriwijaya University. JSI start published in April 2009, which is VOL 1 NO 1 2009. JSI published a journal twice in year , that is on April and October. The mission of JSI are to share, develop and facilitate the output of research paper about Information Systems. JSI also can be place for lectures, teachers, researchers, and all practitioners in the field of Information Technology througout Indonesia, to exchange information about the outputs of recent research that has been done. Abstract

According to the user's perspective, User interface is visible and important part of the computer system; that require the highest priority in the design of computer systems (Jaspers, 2006). There are many aspects to web design. According to Vandelay (2007), successful website is made by content quality, simple and interactive design, easy to navigate, unique, fresh, and optimize. Design context will be the great importance related to the dissemination of public information. According to Act No. 14/2008 on the Openness of Public Information that Each of Public Information is open and can be accessed by any user of Public Information and Each of Public Information should be obtained by each Public Information’s applicant quickly and on time, low cost and with less effort. Information dissemination efforts through the web are often hampered by the difficulty of navigation in a website. This study examined the structure of navigation in the website’s user interface of any departments within the Republic of Indonesia to find out how difficult public information can be accessed through the website. The method is carried out in this study is the observation, literature study and analysis of 20 website’s user interface in the environment department of the Republic of Indonesia. The results obtained from this study is that the user can easily access public information, because all the website’s homepage displays the latest news or information and almost all websites have a search section to find out necessary information in the website. And the user will not be confused in knowing their positions, because in most cases the department has implemented a web site using a signpost and window title page, logo web pages, tabs and indicator selection. In addition, users can learn about the flow to get public information with the use of wayfinding, that is good signage, environmental clues and maps.Key words: public information, user interface, websites, departments, navigation

Abstract

Before 1969, there was a crisis related to software development conducted. The crisis occurred because most of developed software was likely to produce a new problem rather than giving benefit to its user. In fact, the developed software didn’t meet with what user need. Moreover, the management and developer had difficulties to measure software quality during software development process. Metode Function Point can be used to solve this problem. It has a set of capability to list important information to predict what resource should be provided. This prediction gives a basic thing for Software Company to prepare their proposal or project plan. Abstract

Internet Protocol (IP), the underlying protocol upon which the Internet is based, has a number of serious flaws, including limited address space, security and performance limitations. Since the early 1990s a new version of IP (IPv6) has been developed in which these problems are addressed. Yet despite years of “hype”, adoption of IPv6 has been minimal or non-existent. Many efforts have been made to encourage IPv6 adoption around the world but none have been widely successful.The decision to adopt is influenced by the information available to the decision maker. This paper reports the results of studies of attitudes and perceptions to IPv6 in three countries and determines that the prevalent information about the standard in each country is often scarce and inaccurate. This contributes to reluctance to adopt IPv6 and further exacerbates the problem. The paper concludes with recommendations to improve available information so as to increase IPv6 acceptance and adoption.Key words: IPv6, Jaringan, Difusi Teknologi

Abstract

Perangkat lunak kini sudah menjadi kekuatan yang menentukan. Perangkat lunak menjadi mesin yang mengendalikan pengambilan keputusan di dalam dunia bisnis; berfungsi sebagai dasar dari semua bentuk pelayanan serta penelitian keilmuan modern. Hal inilah yang mengubah pandangan masyarakat tentang perangkat lunak. Program-program perangkat lunak sudah tersebar luas, dan masyarakat memandangnya sebagai suatu kenyataan teknologi dalam kehidupan. Akan tetapi banyak individu dan perusahaan masih mengembangkan perangkat lunak secara sembarangan sehingga kualitas perangkat lunak yang dihasilkan menjadi kurang bagus, sehingga diperlukan metode-metode modern dari pendekatan rekayasa perangkat lunak untuk mencapai kematangan secara utuh

Abstract

One of the main programs of local government of Bengkulu city is tourism sector development. One of its main activities is to promote tourism objects. Internet technology is one of the ideal channel and a powerful tool to promote tourism with a very low cost. By this technology, it can provide information in a web form, so the users will easily find information such as several options of attractive tourist destination places and supporting the existing facilities at each tourist attraction. Results from testing respondents obtained 19% strongly agreed, 55% agreed, 16% neutral and 10% disagreed. With this result, we can conclude that the system can help the local government of Bengkulu city in promoting its tourism objects. In addition, this system can also be useful as informative inputs for investors who want to develop a specific tourist attraction. The expected impact of this system is the number of tourists visiting the city of Bengkulu significantly increased.   Keywords: tourism information system, php, MySQL, web-based, open source.

Abstract

Internet is one of product or application as result from development of computer world, specially computer technology and telecommunication world. Internet as information technology which use computer technology. Computer is a tool which use to process an input and get result as output. To get a new information, human being needed to barter information with other people by internet. Simply, information technology needed to process with easy and accurate information. When we searching information by internet, we always using a software system which called as search engine. Search engine is a computer program which design to help people to find out files in computer. Beside that, there are email and mailing list. Email is an easy way to help people te accept and sending electronics mail with easy access, cheaper and fast time, only a second in time other people in other places will sent and get mail. This reaserch aims to know the effect of using search engine, email and mailing list toward information quality result at Bina Darma University. All data in this reaserch were collected using instrument  in the form of questionnaire which has been distributed to 100 respondents. Those respondents were taken from six faculties which consist of Bina Darma lecture and students. Using SPSS 12.0 all data is analyzed. The result of this reaserch is that there are positive and significant influences among 3 variables search engine, email and mailing list toward information quality result at Bina Darma University both partially or simultaneously.   Keywords : Internet, search engine, email and mailing list

Abstract

Decision Support System is a case tool used to ease a decision makers to be more quickly and objectively. A case study of PT. X is one of the objects which will make the selection of employees to promote. The problem is determining what criteria will be used as determinant factors and how to make a prototype? The research methodology used is the system analysis, design system and system implementation. Determination of criteria that will be chosen is a decision that must be taken by the head of the company Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a method or tool in decision making multi criteria by using the help of Expert Choice software. Results are used to facilitate the user in selecting employees who will be chosen to ascend to a certain position This prototype is expected to assist in accelerating the decision making of employees who elected to board positions. Abstract

Decision support systems to solve multi-criteria problems can use fuzzy set approach. Fuzzy set operations used in this article are the average operating vague (arithmetic mean) and slices of vague, like a fuzzy standard, Einstein product and algebraic product. The results showed that the ability to explain the criteria of incision surgery better than the arithmetic mean operation.   Keywords: rerata aritmetika, standard fuzzy, Einstein product, algebraic product.

Abstract

Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) merupakan salah satu bidang yang memberikan kontribusi yang signifikan dalam memacu pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia. Hal ini dikarenakan daya serap UKM terhadap tenaga kerja yang sangat besar dan dekat dengan rakyat kecil. Tetapi UKM yang ada di Indonesia masih menghadapi berbagai masalah antara lain masalah promosi, pemasaran dan penjualan penjaualan produk yang dihasilkan. Seiring perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi, maka ia juga telah dimanfaatkan untuk pemasaran dan penjualan produk-produk melalui dunia maya yang sering disebut E-commerce. Penjualan dan pemasaran produk melalui dunia maya mempunyai banyak keuntungan, yaitu cakupan yang luas, tidak mengenal ruang dan waktu, dapat dilakukan kapan saja dan dimana saja. Oleh karena itu E-commerce patut dicoba untuk membantu mengembangkan UKM yang ada di Indonesia.   Kata Kunci : E-Commerce, UKM, ICT

Abstract

One of the information system used by higher education management information system lecture. Sriwijaya University Faculty of Computer Science is the faculty who already have management information systems classes, but in that system, there are still shortcomings and therefore systems must be developed in order to improve the quality of higher education.
