Abstract

Interview method in exploring foods and drinks intake require estimation tool. Household measuring instruments can be used, as well as of food photographs and three-dimension food models. The purpose of this study was to assess the accuracy of food and drink cards as a tool to estimate the portion of real food and drink. A total of 32 respondents participated in this study. Food records were collected then body weight and height of respondents were measured. In the following day, the respondents estimated the portion of the real foods and drinks compare to the cards. Fifty-one cards are considered accurate from the total 67 cards. Food and drink cards can be used as a tool to estimate nutritional intake and total calories.

Abstract

Liver fibrosis is a reversible response to a wound healing with marked accumulation of extracellular matrix which caused by injury to the liver. Liver fibrosis can be caused by various factors including alcohol and non-alcohol steatohepatitis. The process of fibrosis serves to localize the inflammation during chronic exposure. The hepatic stem cell (HSC) has a key role in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis. The HSC activation is characterized by increased profibrogenic mediators including members of the TGF-? superfamily. In order to enable signal transduction, the mediator needs to bind to its receptors. The serine/ threonine kinase receptor is a receptor that binds to the TGF-? superfamily ligand, including TGF-?, BMP, activin and other mediators. The ligand receptor-binding activity will stimulate signal transduction that will translocate into the nucleus and phosphorylate various transcription factors that play a role in cell proliferation, differentiation, or apoptosis. There is currently no standard therapy for liver fibrosis. Based on the central role of the serine/ threonine kinase receptor in the pathogenesis of liver fibrosis, it is thought that the use of serine/ threonine kinase inhibitors is a promising therapy.

Abstract

According to UNICEF improper Behaviourand less of knowledge contributed to the death of  a child, one of them, namely the mothers do not realize the importance of breast feeding. According to Basic Medical Research percentage of breastfeeding pattern <1 hourin 2010 i.e. 29,3% and increased to 34,5% in 2013. The breastfeeding patterns 1-6 the first hour of the in 2010 as many as 40,7% and decreased to 35,2% in 2013. A few methods to help improve the ASI production such as oxytocin massage methods, marmet technique, warm compresses, massase rolling (back), breast care, and methods of SEMOS (Stimulation of Endorphin Massage, Oxytocin and Suggestive). This research aimed to know the effectiveness combination of the mermet technique and oxytocin message against the breast milk production of  mothers postpartum. This research used quasi alphabets experiment withpost testmenthods only with control group design. The results of using independent T-bivariat test obtained p value 0,007 < ? (0,05) which means therewas a significant influence between breast milk production of mother postpartum group intervene the breastmilk production of mother postpartum with control group with an average of breast milk production of 30 respondents were  divided into two groups that was 15 respondents of the intervention group obtained 1,113cc whereas 15 respondents of control group obtained 0,547cc. The combination of the marmet technique and oxytocin massage and was effective to stimulatehormone prolactin spending that would stimulate the cells of the alveoli and contain myoepithelial for breast milk  Production of mothers postpartum process on the first days after birth..

Abstract

Photic driving (PD) is a normal electroencephalography phenomenon in the parietooccipital region  during intermittent photic stimulation (IPS). The PD response is an indicator that is sensitive to age, brain maturity, certain abnormalities, changes in brain signal and brain complexity. Currently, there is not much  data about the PD response based on individual characteristics. Methods: It is a cross-sectional study with secondary data from EEG and medical records,  from January to December 2017. Result: Of 536 records, only 444 EEG records fulfilled the research criteria. PD response was more common in women (61.4%) and age group between 20-60 years (78.6%). Normal EEG result was 71.4%. PD responses were most commonly diagnosed with epilepsy etiology (33.8%). Only 28.6% of PD responses were found in abnormal EEG results. Conclusion: Distribution showed that the response of PD decreased in older age. The PD response is more common in patients with normal EEG results.  The more abnormal results of EEG, PD response rarely arise.

Abstract

Abstract.Scabies is a skin disease caused by infestation and sensitization of Sarcoptesscabiei var. hominis. Scabies can infect everyone at all ages, races, genders and social economic levels. This disease is usually found in places such as dormitories, orphanages, prisons, islamic boarding schools that lack personal hygiene. Observational analytic research with cross sectional design has been carried out at boarding school Aulia Cendikia in Palembang from June to December 2017. There were 199 samples of students of Aulia Cendikia boarding school in Palembang city that met the inclusion criteria. In this study, there were no age differences between students with or without scabies (p = 0.374; p> 0.05). This study showed that the number of people per room was the factor that most contributed to the incidence of scabies (PR = 2.746, p = 0.002) followed by personal hygiene (PR = 2.333, p = 0.007) and gender (PR = 2.068, p = 0.019). Number of people in the room, personal hygiene and gender are risk factors for scabies at the Aulia Cendikiaislamic boarding school in Palembang.
