Jurnal Siasat Bisnis (JSB) is a peer review journal published twice a year (January and July) by Management Development Centre (MDC)-Department of Management, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Islam Indonesia. JSB) addresses the broad area of management science and its applications in industry and business. It is particularly receptive to research relevant to the practice of management within the emerging regions and its effects beyond. It covers studies on how management work is done (descriptive) and/or should be done (normative) in diverse organisational forms, either in profit or non-profit firms, private or public sector institutions, or formal or informal social networks. Abstract

Product development and competition continuously growing in markets to meet consumer needs as consumer, and the goal to achieve cost accuracy and effectiveness during product manufacturing process based on resource strength and weaknesses provide effort in developing internal resource capability of Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) manufacture through application of resource-based strategy (consisting of financial, physical, human and technology resources) and innovation (consisting of product innovation and internal resource) using product life cycle cost approach in achieving competitive advantage. This research suggests that 108 assisted-partner SME manufactures in East Java, using multiple regression analysis provide result in which jointly implementing resource-based strategy and innovation will achieve product competitive advantage. In term of its contribution of the resources, however, there are only three resources, physical resource, product innovation and internal resource, which highly contribute to improve product competitive advantage.Keywords : SME manufacture, resource-based strategy, innovation, product life cycle cost, and product competitive advantage.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the influence of transaction costs for the period of shareholding. This research is a replication of the Atkins and Dyl (1997). The first part of the invested transaction cost which represented the bid-ask spread on the holding period. On the Atkins and Dyl (1997) research had added the control variables as independent variables in the form of market value and variance of stock returns. This research employs 30 companies has been taken as sample deemed all of the criteria on period 2002-2004. Analysis of the hypothesis was taken using 2SLS (two stage least square) regression. The result of this research indicate that the bid-ask spread, market value, and variance of stock return have a significant influence on the holding period of shares registered in Jakarta Stock Exchange. Abstract

This study discussed the emergence of business on PT Bogasari Flour mills before and after economic crisis 1997/1998 in Indonesia. Based on SWOT analysis with regard to business environment and governement policy, the study was able to identify prospected flour mills market. Abstract

Momentum trading strategy present challenges to the concept of efficient market theory. Many studies investigate the profitability of momentum trading strategy in international and domestic equity market and evidence has shown that this strategy could lead to abnormal profit. The purpose of this paper are to examine and analyse the profitability of momentum strategy in the Indonesia equity market from January 2003 to December 2007. This paper also investigates factor such as size and trading volume to identify potential source of profits in momentum strategy. The result of this research show that short-term momentum strategy are profitable on all stock listed on IDX. The findings of the research also show that in the shortterm, trading volume have significant effects and could be potential source of profits in momentum strategy.Keywords: profitability, momentum, size, trading volume

Abstract

This research is aimed to recognize the marketing strategy for special interest tourism product of Cerme Cave located in Imogiri Subdistrict, Bantul Regency. The method used in this research is a descriptive survey method. Purposive sampling is used to determine sample. Findings found that the market characteristics of the respondens are young men, well educated, like to do adventure people, unemployment, group visitors; spend less expenditure and local people. Their main activities are tracing along the cave and doing the relaxation. Abstract

This study examines the relationships between certain organizational variables and employees`perceptions of the customer service climate in their organization. The sample of study is the entire administration employee of Higher Education in Yogyakarta. The research has discovered some evidence that reward is not affecting employee`s perception toward Customer service Climate. However, it is affecting the Organizational Commitment. If the employee`s demand is accepted well by the management, then they will do the some thing to the customer. Hence, it will influence the organizational commitment. Providing sufficient Work Environment and Training able to show the institution efforts on employee`s wealth. Other evidences show that, partially, Work Design, Work Environment and Training, mediated by Organization Commitment. This evidence shows the good working design, adequate working environment and training to employee will influence the increase of organizational commitment. Thus, it will influence the employee`s perceptions towards Customer Service Climate.Keywords: customer service climate, organizational commitment, employee perceptions
