Abstract

A dynamic business environment put a high pressure on the companies to improve their innovation capabilities continously. It could be achieved by making a collaboration with external parties to capture their knowledge and technology, and then turning it into innovative products and services that companies provided. The aims of this study is to determine the effectiveness of open innovations implementation in Batik Industry in Yogyakarta on firm performance. It focuses on the analyzing of the company's ability in collaborating innovatively with external parties, such as competitors, government, and research institutions. Small Medium Enterprise (SMEs) of Batik Industry in Yogyakarta is used as the population. The sample is choosed by using convenience simple random sampling method that result in 96 SMEs. Then, the data is analysed through the Partial Least Square (PLS) method using 3 independent variables, inter-company cooperation, companies and government cooperation, and companies and research institutions cooperation that tested on firm performance. Besides, product innovation also used as intervening variable. The findings show that a collaboration between companies and government have a positive effect on product innovation, while firm collaboration with research institutions has no effect on product innovation. The role of product innovation as an intervening variable in this model is significant in mediating the effect of external parties collaboration on firm performance. Further, these findings is expected to contributed on SMEs strategies development in building innovation capabilities, particularly in open innovation implementation that would affect firm performance.   Keywords: External Cooperation, Innovation, Performance

Abstract

The research aims to determine the influence of external knowledge sources based on market actors and science actors on the types of innovations including product innovation, process innovation, market innovation and organizational innovation in innovating SMEs food and beverage at D. I Yogyakarta. This research is based on 60 samples obtained from the dissemination of questionnaires directly and through Google form. To analyzed data, this study utilized a logistic regression model with SPSS 23. The findings show that the external knowledge source of market base actors has significant effect on 4 types of innovation. However, the best prediction is shown in Model 1 that is market base actors to product innovation. While analysis of external knowledge sources of Science based actors shows there is no influence on 4 types of innovations, either on models 1 to model 4. Analysis of the control variables also showed no significant influence on innovation. Therefore, the age difference and size of the company in SMEs are not important factors in innovating. The results of this study contribute to the development of innovation in SMEs.

Abstract

This study examines the relationships between certain organizational variables and employees`perceptions of the customer service climate in their organization. The sample of study is the entire administration employee of Higher Education in Yogyakarta. The research has discovered some evidence that reward is not affecting employee`s perception toward Customer service Climate. However, it is affecting the Organizational Commitment. If the employee`s demand is accepted well by the management, then they will do the some thing to the customer. Hence, it will influence the organizational commitment. Providing sufficient Work Environment and Training able to show the institution efforts on employee`s wealth. Other evidences show that, partially, Work Design, Work Environment and Training, mediated by Organization Commitment. This evidence shows the good working design, adequate working environment and training to employee will influence the increase of organizational commitment. Thus, it will influence the employee`s perceptions towards Customer Service Climate.Keywords: customer service climate, organizational commitment, employee perceptions

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of supply chain capability on business performance of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Yogyakarta. Supply chain capability is the ability to coordinate activities related to the flow of materials and products, both of which are within the organization and between organizations. Supply chain operational capability is measured using 3 capabilities including structural, logistical and the technological capability. The sample of this study were selected using simple random method. A total of 193,391 SMEs were analysed this study and resulting 100 SMEs that were used as the subjects. Moreover, this study employed multiple regression analysis to analyse the proposed hypothesis. The results showed that simultaneously and partially operational capability of supply chain consisting of the structural, logistics and the technological capability affect the business performance of SMEs in Yogyakarta.

Abstract

Penelitian-penelitian terdahulu telah banyak menganalisis bagaimana kapabilitas dinamis dapat mendukung inovasi. Penelitian-penelitian tersebut mayoritas mengamati bagaimana kapabilitas dinamis digunakan untuk mendukung inovasi. Namun demikian, sepertinya elemen-elemen mikro dari kapabilitas dinamis belum pernah dilakukan analisis di penelitian-penelitian yang ada. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis elemen-elemen mikro dari kapabilitas sensing di usaha kecil dan mengenah yang berlokasi di Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Desain penelitian studi kasus dipilih untuk mendapatkan pemahaman yang mendalam mengenai mengapa dan bagaimana elemen-elemen mikro dari sensing dapat mendukung inovasi yang dilakukan oleh perusahaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui interview, observasi, analisis dokumen, dan kunjungan perusahaan. Reliabilitas data penelitian ini dapat dijamin dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Seperti disarankan di literatur, serangkaian teknik dan prosedur digunakan untuk meyakinkan bahwa penelitian ini memenuhi kriteria validitas. Beberapa teknik tersebut diantaranya pattern matching, penggunaan replication lgoic, dan menggunakan beberapa nara sumber sekaligus. Dari hasil data analisis, diperoleh hasil bahwa tingkat inovasi yang berbeda memerlukan penekanan mikro elemen sensing yang berbeda. Perusahaan yang lebih inovatif memerlukan sensing yang lebih intensif sensing dibandingkan dengan perusahaan yang kurang inovatif. Di bagian akhir artikel ini, beberapa arahan untuk penelitian lanjutan disajikan sebagai panduan bagi para peneliti.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengeanalisis faktor-faktor fundamental yang membedakan perusahaan yang memiliki harga saham yang turun dan perusahaan yang memiliki harga saham naik. Sample terdiri dari 126 perusahaan pada berbagai industri. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Diskriminan dan hasilnya menunjukkan dari 8 variabel diskriminan yang diteliti, hanya ada tiga variabel yang mampu membedakan perusahaan berdasarkan harganya, yaitu Current Ratio, Return on Assets dan Price Book Value.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of individual supply chain orientation and organizational supply chain orientation on supply chain management. The subjects in this study were 100 companies engaged in metal processing located in the Tegal area, Central Java. Sources of data from this study were obtained by using a questionnaire distributed to owners and employees of metal processing companies. The data analysis method in this study uses SEM (Structural Equiting Modeling) with the help of PLS (Partial Last Square) software. The results of this study indicated that individual SCO had a positive effect on organizational SCO. Organizational SCO had 3 variables, namely human resource, organizational design and information technology. Human resource for SCO had a positive effect to SCM strategic, organizational design for SCO took effect on strategic SCM and information technology took effect on SCM strategy. Then further research results were human resource for SCO had no effect on SCM operation, organizational design for SCO had no effect on operational SCM and the last one was technology information took effect on SCM operations. The final result was strategic SCM had a significant effect on operational SCM. This study broadened the understanding of the social and behavioral elements of SCM by classifying SCOs into individual SCOs and organizational SCOs.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Knowledge Management Practices yang diukur dengan Knowledge Generation, Knowledge Storage, dan Knowledge Diffusion terhadap Innovation dan Knowledge Application. Serta untuk mengetahui pengaruh Knowledge Management terhadap Innovation dan juga untuk mengetahui apakah Knowledge Application memediasi hubungan antara Knowledge Management Practices dan Innovation pada UMKM di Yogyakarta. Metode pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode random sampling, yaitu mengambil sampel secara acak dari UMKM yang berada di Yogyakarta. Jumlah responden dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 100 responden. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif serta menggunakan SEM-PLS. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa Knowledge Management Practices yang diukur dengan Knowledge Generation, Knowledge Storage, dan Knowledge Diffusion berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Innovation. Knowledge Management Practices Application yang diukur dengan Knowledge Generation, Knowledge Storage, dan Knowledge Diffusion berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Knowledge Aplication. Knowledge Aplication berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap Innovation. Knowledge Aplication memediasi pengaruh antara Knowledge Generation, Knowledge Storage, Knowledge Diffusion terhadap Inovation.

Abstract

This community service aims to provide technical guidance and assistance on intellectual property rights to SMEs who are members of the "SUKA MULYA" Fruit Farmers Group (KT) in Sedong Lor Village, Sedong District, Cirebon, West Java, Indonesia. The service methods used are interactive discussions, outreach and counseling, as well as mentoring.The results of community service activities have been carried out well with indicators; (1) the number of participants and SMEs involved was 100%, (2) the publication of the copyright of the Fruit Farmers Group profile "Suka Mulya" dated 4 September 2023, (3) increased insight regarding copyright and brands and their functions, (4) the composition Fruit Farmers Group "Suka Mulya" profile catalog, (5) gaining knowledge related to economic culture which is expected to improve the regional economy, and (5) increasing insight regarding SME management.
