Jurnal Arsitektur Lansekap (JAL) (e-ISSN: 2442-5508) is a peer-reviewed, open access journal, published by Landscape Architecture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Udayana University. JAL publishes original research results and reviews articles in the field of landscape architecture. The author is expected to upload his unpublished works, being reviewed or being considered for publication in other journals or other media. The scope of JAL covers, but is not limited to the following areas: Landscape Design, Landscape Planning, Landscape Management, Landscape Plants, Cultural Landscape and Tourism Landscape.

<![CDATA[Space pattern of natah at Sibang Gede Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency, Bali Province. The growth of population in Sibang Gede Village, requires a land for the construction of the house based on the philosophy of Balinese culture concept. The extent of these needs impact on the rearrangement of space and the function of buildings and plants that make the space of Balinese traditional home pattern is not applied properly. This research aims to determine the layout and function of each buildings and plants. The method used was survey method with observation technique, interview, literature study and questionnaire distribution. From 12 banjar adat (sub-village) taken each of the four yards as sample by random sampling. The results show that 60% of the people at Sibang Gede Village still did not know the placement of buildings based on the philosophy of Balinese culture and placement of plants based on the philosophy of Balinese culture 98% of the people at Sibang Gede Village still have not applied it. The concept philosophy of Balinese culture consists of Asta Bumi, Hulu-teben as the layout concept of the buildings and Asta Dala as arrangement concept of plants layout. The recommendation that can be given is to apply the philosophy of Balinese culture concept of the space pattern of natah.]]>

<![CDATA[Landscape design employment to Citarum watershed rehabilitation (case study in Bojongsoang Village, Bandung Regency and Purwadana Village, Karawang Regency). Citarum watershed in Karawang and Bandung Regencies is a prone flooding area. An ideal landscape planning is required to manage this watershed area. It should be a conservation area that can be used by the community in surrounding both for recreation purpose when there is no flood and as a pick up point purpose during the flood. This research aimed to create technical design for the rehabilitation effort of river in Purwadana Village, Karawang Regency and Bojongsoang Village, Bandung Regency. It is expected that it can be used as an alternative design that can make people more adaptive to flood disaster. The management of watershed can be used for conservation area and river tourism. This tourism aims to make people care to their environment, to grow their sense of belonging to jointly maintain and conserve the river around their livelihood. Methods used in this research were survey method, land suitability analysis, interview, and literature study. The research results showed that according to the ecological analysis and ideal landscape approach for watershed area, this Citarum Watershed area is suitable for tourism site.]]>

<![CDATA[Coastal ecotourism landscape planning in Beraban Village, Kediri District, Tabanan Regency. Beraban Village is one of the villages in the district of Kediri, Tabanan Regency which has potential as a coastal ecotourism area. Coastal ecotourism is a tourism activity that is responsible for the welfare of local communities and the preservation of coastal environments. This research is focused on Nyanyi Beach area because there are coastal forest ecosystem with pes-caprae formation and barringtonia formation whose existence requires conservation. This study aims to determine the problems and potential of Beraban Village as a reference in coastal ecotourism landscape planning. The method used in this research is the method of ecotourism planning according to Fennel (2003). The concept of coastal ecotourism landscape planning selected is coastal ecotourism that educates coastal ecosystems and protects coastal forest ecosystems. The result of planning coastal ecotourism was applied to the spatial plan (entrance area, core tourism area, buffer area and conservation area), plans of activity and facility.]]>

<![CDATA[Blind pedestrian perception and preference of comfort at pedestrian walkway at Panglima Besar Sudirman Street, Denpasar City. The main problem for the blind is limited public facilities in Indonesia. Denpasar is the capital province of Bali, so the need of physical infrastructure is very important. The aim of this research was to identify and evaluate the existing condition of the pedestrian path that is related to the comfort aspect, and to know the perception and preference of the blind pedestrian user to the comfort of the pedestrian path at Jalan P. B Sudirman Denpasar, and to recommend the accessibility model as supporting the needs and rights for those blind people. The research method were survey method with observation technique, questionnaires, and literature study. The inconsistency of pedestrian size and elevation between 15 – 35 cm of one of the causes of pedestrian walkway was considered unfit for use by the disadvantage people, thus the pedestrian lane space scenario at Jalan P. B Sudirman Denpasar is to make the pedestrian path as a mobilization path that is easily accessible to everyone and optimally in its utilization. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration for the parties concerned in the related development.]]>

<![CDATA[Design of Badung riverscape as non-green public open space in Denpasar City. Tukad Badung Riverscape in Pemogan Village is one of the riverscape in Denpasar City which has the potential to be designed as a Non-green Public Open Space (NPOS). NPOS is a place that can be used for the people to do their activities or recreation. This study aims to find out the potentials, problems and produce a design concept of Tukad Badung Riverscape in the Pemogan Village. The method used in this study was field survey with observation techniques, interviews, and literature study. Stages of this research are inventory, analysis, and synthesis which at the same time is the foundation in making design. The results indicated it had potentials and problems exist in Tukad Badung were people activities and Tukad Badung has wide riverbanks, meanwhile the problems were accessibility, plant, land, cleanliness, and facilities. The concept of design produced in this research was Balinese natural metaphor that takes the form of rice field terraces and beach waves. Suggestions that can be given are suggestions or recommendations for the government of Denpasar City such as NPOS design.]]>

<![CDATA[Space of women activities in vernacular architecture Gunungsari, Tabanan Bali. The space activities of women in the vernacular architecture of Bali has wider position compared with men. Women are given quite a lot of activities space than men, in addition to the ability to give birth and religious activity is high. This underlying pattern in the shape of space on the vernacular architecture of Bali, the Balinese traditional house building pattern that his philosophy is high, where the building is open and it functions more used for women's activities. The process of forming the concept of activity space of the woman, is the answer to the phenomenon of discrimination of women in architecture that is not always true. This research is useful for adding insight deep understanding of vernacular architecture, especially at the Division of spaces according to the person of its activities (gender), a traditional neighborhood development Setup for local residents and businesses for the development of the architectural patterns in rural settlements.]]>

<![CDATA[Planning of public open space in Dasan Cermen Park, Mataram City to support local cultural activities. Mataram city has experienced development rapidly that causes the need of builded space is increased so that the quality of the environment is getting lower, so it needs the existence of public open space. In addition to having ecological functions, the existence of public open space also has a socio-cultural function as a place of social interaction and describes the local cultural expression. Based on these problems, it is necessary to have a public open space planning in the form of a park that can describe the local cultural expression. The purpose of this research is to plan the park in accordance with the local cultural identity of Mataram city. This research used survey method with observation technique, interview, questionnaire distribution and literature study. Planning refers to systematic planning method. The concept applied is the preservation of local culture. The final result of this research is planning of public open space in Dasan Cermen Mataram City which is divided into three spaces, such as conservation space, social space and cultural space. Further research is needed to design of public open space in Dasan Cermen Mataram City and attention to aspects of public open space management.]]>

<![CDATA[The planning of green street system in Denpasar City based on street function. Denpasar city is the capital of Bali Province which is currently experiencing growth and development, one of them is street accretion in length and improvement which is continue to grow every year. Based on street function, Denpasar has three street type e.g. arterial street, collectoral street and local street. Each street has different functions and criteria that require different green street system as well as having to adjust the function and criteria of the street. The purpose of this study was to plan a green street system in accordance with the existing street function in Denpasar. Method used in this research were observation and literature study. The concept applied was the green street system aligned with functional plants. Research showed that the concept of the street was improved by implementing collaboration of between space and green concept. The findings of this research was the planning of green street system based on street function which was adjusted to the condition of its surrounding area.]]>

<![CDATA[Gardening efficiency: case study in the Oberoi Hotel, Bali. Bali is one of the very famous international tour destination around the world. One important element of tourism is accommodation as a rest area. Hotel The Oberoi Bali is one of the five stars hotel as accommodations in Bali. Hotel The Oberoi Bali has six hectare land with 60% of outdoor area and 40% of building area. This study aims to find the efficiency of the park keepers in Hotel The Oberoi Bali. The method that used in this study is survey method, with observation techniques interview, literature review and questionnaire. Based on the result of the research, it is found that the maintenance system which is applied is the maintenance system of the unit or zone, and the special maintenance system, the work capacity is done on sweeping or paving and grass pruning with thrust machine, less work in watering activities using sprinklers and plastic hoses, pruning bushes and ground cover with pruned shears. Recommendation of maintenance schedule in writing, reward system for garden staff to improve work efficiency and training which can increase knowledge and skill in maintenance activities for labor.]]>
