Abstract

Academic evaluation is an important process to know how well the learning process was conducted and also one of the decisive factors that can determine the quality of the higher education institution. Though it usually curative, the preventive effort is needed by predicting the performance of the student before the semester begin. This effort aimed to reduce the failure rate of the students in certain subjects and make it easier for the PBL tutor to create appropiate learning strategies before the tutorial class begin. The purpose of this work is to find the best data mining technique to predict student academic performance on PBL system between two data mining classification algorithms. This work applied and compared the performance of the classifier models built from Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN). After preprocessed the dataset, the classifier models were developed and validated. The result shows that both algorithms were giving good accuracy by 97% and 95,52% respectively though SVM showing the best performance compared to KNN in F-Measure with 80%. The further deployment is needed to integrate the model with academic information system, so that academic evaluation can be easily done.

Abstract

Soybean (Glycine mx L.) is one of the important strategic commodity in Indonesia which is cultivated widely. Soybean demand continues rise increasly demand for soy as food industry ingredients such as tofu, tempeh, soy milk soy tauco and snack. However, efforts to increase the production and development of soybean agribusiness has some constraints that may reduce production by 50% due to certain diseases. The situation is of course very detrimental to soybeans in particular and the public in general. But the farmers have very low knowledge about the technical maintenance of the soybean crop. These circumstances resulted in a high dependence of farmers on crop pest controllers are limited. To overcome these problems was made based application based mobile operating system Android. However, mobile devices have limitations in computing resources ranging from the ability of the processor to the memory capacity. To optimize computing resources on mobile devices, we need a method of knowledge representation that consists of a frame-based and rule-based representation with the rules or rule that is used to determine whether the peanut plants infected with certain diseases, in which the types of diseases that can be detected on do this thesis includes diseases of bacterial pustules, antarchnose disease, mosaic virus disease, damping, rust disease and blight. then analyzed knowledge representation which is the most optimal. This can be done by comparing the scenario some knowledge of the representation of the level of validity and cases symptoms can be resolved. Keywords: expert system, soybean disease ,android, knowledge representation

Abstract

Residential security applications by using computer technology has grown rapidly. Motion detectors, contacts on doors and windows, sirens, and a leading provider of security services for housing security management has been widely applied in electronic-based. A simple and practical use of residential security application could improve the performance efficiently and savings the cost. e-KTP card as RFID-based is used for single sign-on access on residential security areas. A reader-tag generates passively electromagnetic waves which inductances the carrier frequency of 13, 56 Mhz which produce output power around 30 dbm is assumed. In order to improved the security performance, e-KTP is integrated with software system using delphi 8.0. Theoritical results shows that a reading tag capability has measures the distance is λ = 0 cm to 2 cm has been achieved. Moreover, e-KTP is sufficient for actively sensed by reader tag. At the λ = 1 cm (0.01 m), Pt = 1 watt, therefore the received power is 0.0011 watt (0.4 dbm). This power has induced by reader tag to generate power in e-KTP. The results shows that the more distances are longer, the greater power is needed to induces e-KTP by reader tag. Keywords: e-KTP, RFID reader, Residential Security Management

Abstract

This study aims to develop a prototype of automated room control systems. The histograms of oriented gradients (HOG) algorithm is used to detect and count the people entering or coming out the room so that the use of electricity is more appropriate. The raspberry Pi microprocessor is used as a controller since it is efficient and can be expanded for monitoring over the web. The system testings show that the prototype can detect and count the number of incoming and outgoing people enough accurately with error rate of about 1.7%, while people entering or coming out the room not simultaneously, but can not detect and count accurately with error rate of about 43.3%, while two person walk close together through the door. Using the automated room control, the electronic equipments will be active when there are people in the room and the  temperature below 200C.

Abstract

Human society is a multifarious collection which is more effectual than other animal groups. Consequently, if one algorithm imitates the human society, then the efficiency may be healthier than other swarm intelligent algorithms which are stimulated by other animal groups. In this paper Communal Expressive (CE) Optimization Algorithm has been utilized to solve reactive power problem. The key feature of solving Optimal Reactive Power Problem is to reduce the real power loss and to maintain the voltage profile within the specified limits. The proposed Communal Expressive (CE) Optimization Algorithm has been authenticated, by applying it in standard IEEE 118 & practical 191 bus test systems. The results have been compared to other standard methods and the projected algorithm converges to finest solution.
