Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) menerbitkan artikel penelitian di bidang kesehatan masyarakat dengan topik kajian: administrasi dan kebijakan kesehatan, kesehatan lingkungan, kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja, gizi masyarakat, epidemiologi, promosi. kesehatan dan ilmu perilaku, kesehatan ibu dan anak, kesehatan reproduksi, biostatistika, sistem informasi kesehatan, dan demografi/kependudukan. Pada Bulan Agustus 2020, Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) memulai kolaborasi dengan Perhimpunan Sarjana dan Profesional Kesehatan Masyarakat Indonesia (PERSAKMI) untuk penerbitan jurnal. Sejak tahun 2022, Jurnal Ilmu Kesehatan Masyarakat (IKESMA) meningkatkan frekuensi terbitan menjadi 4 kali dalam satu tahun (Maret, Juni, September, dan Desember).

Abstract

Most Indonesian people use traditional medication to prevent and cure the disease. Mantra is a part of tradition and healing which practiced by Osing Tribe in Banyuwangi. This study aimed to explore how the traditional healers use mantra for healing in traditional medication in Osing tribe. This study used a qualitative approach of phenomenology with depth interviews, participatory observation, documentary materials and browsing the internet material. This study located in 4 traditional village, involves five (5) informants.Mantra is combined with massage,rajah, giving herbs and water, and attaching tools. The time required in a relatively short treatment is 15-20 minutes, while the time it takes patients to recover is one day to a week. The conclusion that mantra is used by Osing Tribe in Banyuwangi to cure the disease.Keywords: mantra, healing, Osing Tribe

Abstract

Oral health among elderly people needs a specially attention because it will affect their general health. A good knowledge of oral hygiene is essential to prevent oral disease. Therefor maintenance of oral hygiene was the best way to maintain the health condition of the elderly people. The purpose of this research was to determine the correlation between oral health knowledge of elderly people with oral health status in the working area ofPuskesmas Kalisat Jember. This study was observasional research on 80 elderly people aged 50-70 years old who came to 12 elderly posyandu of Puskesmas Kalisat Jember. Data were collected by structured questionnaires about oral health knowledge and clinical examination to determine oral hygiene status based on Oral Hygiene Index-simplified (OHIS). Pearson correlation was used for statistical analysis. Most of participant demontratedoral health knowledge score as sufficient category (52,5%) and the oral hygiene status was moderate (57,5%). The correlation between the level of oral health knowledge with OHI-S index was significant (p< 0,05). Among elderly people, the knowledge of oral health correlated with the oral hygiene.Keywords: elderly, dental health, Index OHI-S, Puskesmas Kalisat Jember

Abstract

Patient safety is a priority for implementation of the five important safety issues in hospital, because of patient safety issues related to the quality and image of the hospital it self. Diversity and regularity of the service if it is not managed properly can occur Safety Patient Incident, it’s consisting of Adverse Event, Near Miss, Incidentand Hazard (Depkes,2006). Based on data report of patient safety incidents X Hospital at JemberDistric 2011 to 2012 anincrease of patient safety incidents. It is appropiate with national guidelines hospitalpatient safety, the first step patient safety program at the hospital is building a patient safetyculture. The purpose of this research is a deskriptif study was to describe patient safety culture at inpatient of Hospital X Jember District. Indepth interview do to inpatient nurses using interview guide. Nurses who responded to as many 113 nurses wereselected by proportional random sampling.This study using cross sectional approach. The results showed that the indicator of patient safety culture for cooperation in both categories, communication in both categories, leadership in fairly categories, reporting in fairly categories and response is not punishing also in fairly categories. The conclusion of this study is the need for improvements to the leadership indicators, reporting, and response is not to punish.Key words : Patient, culture, nurse

Abstract

Adolescent are known as risky population to HIV-AIDS transmission. The incidence of HIVAIDS among adolescent continues to show significant increment. The initial step in reducing the risk of HIV-AIDS transmission among them can be done by having comprehensive understanding on HIV-AIDS-related knowledge. IDHS as one of national survey that alsoaccomodate HIV-AIDS-related knowledge in addition to sociodemographic dimension, is able to provide the information flow of HIV-AIDS among adolescent themselves. This study aims to provide comprehensive information of HIV-AIDS-related knowledge among adolescent. Theset of data used were obtained from IDHS 2007 and IDHS 2012. Both sets of the data were analyzed using chi-square test at 5 percent significance level. Based on this analysis, it is known that the level of HIV-AIDS-related knowledge among adolescent has increased during 2007- 2012. And during this period, they had chosen a more rational sources to obtain adequate information about HIV-AIDS through the involvementof teachers or school,especially for higher-educated ones. In general, the level of HIV-AIDS-related knowledge among adolescent is higher in older male ones, living in urban areas, and highly educated ones. As one of the effort in reducing the risk of HIV-AIDS transmission among adolescent can be done by increasing the involvement of teachers and parents through the provison of adequate and proportionate information about HIV-AIDS. Furthermore, providinginformation regarding HIV-AIDS-related knowledge in adolescent would be much more effective through the implementation of curriculum on HIV-AIDS nationally which is systematically and proportionally arranged in each level of education.Keywords: adolescent, HIV-AIDS, national curriculum

Abstract

The public’s satisfaction ratings of the health center services can be seen from the performance or perceived outcome compared with expectations. The general objective of this study is to assess people's satisfaction of health center services. Method is a qualitative research approach. This research was conducted in all districts in Jember, by taking 25 informants as samples for indept interview. The sampling technique to informants by using purposive sampling and snowball sampling, qualitative research instrument of this study is the researchers themselves by holding on to an open questionnaire guidelines, technical analysis is descriptive. The results of the study describe that the majority of informants (80%) say the public satisfied of the services at the health center, the issue then the people donot know what standards they are supposed to get from the service. Service to customers is a service that can be justified and balanced. In this context, services in health centers should transparently explain the standard of service flow and what will be done by the medical waiter, so the patient know about what kind of service that they would be received. The issue of quality of service is the most important thing to increase confidence in the health centers, for example in terms of service time, the average time to get a queue number about three minutes. Then the waiting time to be called about ten to thirty minutes. While the time to see a doctor about five minutes. And the time to stand in line to take drugs in about thirtyminutes. With the size of this time, the average patient takes about one to one and a half hours in a health center. Abstract

Family planning (FP) is a program that can reduce the rate of infant and maternal mortality. The purpose of this study was to develop a database model for family planning programs in Primary Health Care (Puskesmas). The scope of the data base development includes the service planning program at Puskesmas working area. This type of research was an actionresearch. Subjects in this study were the management of family planning programs in the province, district, health centers and family planning implementer program in the village. The result of analysis system for recording and reporting of family planning programs in Puskesmas were found some problems: unstandardized format registers, duplicate records,manual storage of data, unautomated processing of the reports, and limited produced of information. The result of this study was a prototype of database family planning programs in the health center based on the information needs of managers of family planning programs. The developed database program for family planning at the health center can be generated based on the information needed by family planning programs managers therefore it can be utilized to monitor and evaluate the performance of the family planning program in the health center.

Abstract

Health information system is one of the six building blocks or key components of the health system. MMC is a health care unit at the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. This study purposed to determine the application of Health information system in MMC. This study was a qualitative research with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach. Data collections were obtained by in-depth interviews and direct observation. The results of the research that has been done, that the existing health information system is not running well, because in the process of recording and reporting is still done manually, the lack of security of data, lack of data integration, as well as the information generated is not in accordance with the need for decision-making.Keywords : HIS, reporting, input, SDLC

Abstract

The research was proposed by Gani, et al (2013:12) about “Desain Kawasan Sehat untuk Wisata Budaya Using di Kabupaten Banyuwangi” was calculated the use of health toilet is 54%, the use of quite health toilet is 37%, and the use of not-health toilet is 9%. Furthermore, this research also calculated the behavior of using clean water is 94% and 63% not usingtrash can. The purpose of this study was to analyze PHBS Using community includes predisposing, enabling, reinforcing based on three indicators of PHBs that apply to defecate in latrines, using clean water, and dispose of waste in place. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Some techniques of data collection are applied in this research; in-depth interview, documentation, and observation. Determination of the informants in this research used purposive technique. The results showed that people still have the habit Using defecate in the river, people using clean water sourced from mountain springs, the habit of not sorting garbage and dispose of garbage in the river. The village head required that every homeshould have latrines to reduce the habit of people to defecate in the river. Mother village heads who were members of the PKK had been doing counseling about recycling but the response was still not appropriate. There is a tradition in Kemiren rabo wekasan. This tradition bequeathed 1 cultural values that spring must be maintained by cleaning.Keywords : Healthy and Clean Lifestyles, Defecate, Clean Water, Trash
