Abstract

This study explored the use of parenchyme of palm (Elaeis guinensis Jack) leave sheat as material for woven craft. Important elements of parenchyme including cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, minerals and extracted components, determine its strength. Mechanical properties studied in this work were density, elastic modulus, tensile strength, yield strength, tensile stress, deformation, and elasticity-plasticity. Results showed that in certain size, palm leave sheat parenchyme can be used to replace bamboo or rattan in woven craft. However, size of sheat was much larger than that of bamboo or rattan, whilst the fiber was also too rough. It was also difficult to extract the parenchyme

Abstract

Isolation components of Citronellal and  Rhodinol in citronella oil can be applied to the industry to increase the added value and develop intermediate industries of citronella oil. To determine the feasibility of implementation, financial analysis is required to process such isolation. Feasibility of investment in new industrial establishment or development of NPV seen citronella oil  industry, BEP, PBP, Net B / C and IRR can describe whether the project is still attractive to be realized. On the establishment of new industries, the NPV value of Rp11, 844,269,430.12, an IRR of 47%. The payback period (PBP) is achieved over a period of 2.79 years. Net value of B / C is 2.75 and the production break-even point (BEP) is obtained on the sale value of Rp. 5,217,742,676.09. While the development of citronella oil industry, the NPV of the industrial development of Rp 12,348,032,363.16. IRR value for industrial development with 600 kg Input / process is 89%. The payback period (PBP) industrial development achieved during the period of 4.41 years. Net value of B / C obtained from the establishment Factory is 6.30. Production break-even point (BEP) is obtained on the sale value of Rp 20,912,029,225.35. This suggests that the establishment of new industries and the development of scented citronella oil industry that already exist, worthy to be realized

Abstract

Good manufacturing practice is the first step implementation of food safety regulation. PT. Kelola Mina Laut is one of chilled sea crab producers in Madura. It has four branches in Madura,those are in Tanjung Bumi, Noreh, Sampang, and Lobuk. The objective of this research is to assess the effectiveness GMP in four branches of PT. Kelola Mina Laut. The research  uses field observation, data analysis and GMP development as the method. Based on GMP analysis, four branches of PT. Kelola Mina Laut appear to have a cummulative score between 337-369, in which Lobuk has the highest score. Therefore, it can be concluded that PT. Kelola Mina Laut has applied most of GMP elements

Abstract

Sargassum duplicatumcontain bioactive component has different polarity.The research was aimed to know the effect solvent types and extraction method toward the psychochemical characteristic of S. duplicatum extract.The result of qualitative analysis showed that all S. duplicatum extract samples contained flavonoid, tannin, saponin, and terpenoid. The best treatment were obtained from methanol treatment using one-step extraction method that gave solubility in ethanol was 39.450 percent, solubility in distilled water (aquadest) was 28.283 percent, and total phenol was 297.170 mg/g.

Abstract

Thisstudyaims to formulate an alternative strategy in dealing with waste problems generated by the ATC industry, and predict to what extent these strategies can be effectively and efficiently handle the amount of waste there. The method used for analyzing includes analytical hierarchy process and heuristic methods. The results showed that the priority strategies that can be selected to handle the ATC waste was reusedthe waste water through the recycling process. Efficiency of water use through the recycling process reached 60.71%.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the chemical composition and organoleptic properties of red fruit sauce due to the enriched of sweet potato as thickeners agent that was prepared in different forms. The sweet potatoes were prepared in some form, that was sweet potato starch, sweet potato flour, fresh grated sweet potato and sweet potato boiled and CMC was used for as comparison. The selection of the best treatment sauce formulations based on the total carotene content of the sauce. The red fruit sauce enriched sweet potato boiled as thickeners have the highest content of total carotenoids was 5.529 ppm and water content, ash, fat, protein, and carbohydrate were 75.44%, 8.05%, 59.97%, 8.49%, and  23.54%, respectively.  The panelists preference scores of color, flavor and textur of the best sauce formulation was 3.63 (neutral), 3.47 (neutral) and 4.17 (like), respectively.
