Abstract

Analysis of User Satisfaction on Online Union Catalogof National Library of IndonesiaABSTRACTInternational Standard Organization (ISO) Technical Report (TR) -28118 in 2009 item A.2 mentioned that the national library of acountry should publish national bibliographies in a catalog as soonas in line with the publication of a new collection in the country. Itcan only be possible if the catalog is in electronic form, known asonline catalog. National Library of Indonesia has developed anonline union catalog (http://kin.pnri.go.id) since 2008. However, itshowed very low utilization. A study has been carried out to analyzeuser satisfaction on online union catalog based on user perception.The research method is a survey using a questionnaire containing 37questions. Data were collected in 33 provincial library institutionsinvolving users and the librarians. Measurement of the level of usersatisfaction was based on ISO 9241-11: Guidance on Usability. Thestudy results showed that the existence, use and understanding ofonline union catalog meets the basic needs of users and librarians onsearching information. Copy cataloging function in online unioncatalog has not yet used optimally. Over 80% of respondents respondedpositively to the improvement of features of online union catalog 2.0.

Abstract

Management of Grey Literature in Libraries within Indonesian Agencyfor Agricultural Research and DevelopmentGrey literature is the most current research information source andis the intellectual property of an organization, government agenciesand other science and technology assessment agencies, unpublishedcommercially, and official documents issued in limited copies. Thestudy aimed to find out the management of grey literature in librarieswithin the Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research andDevelopment (IAARD), which was conducted in April-May 2012 ina descriptive survey. Respondents were 54 IAARD librarians/librarymanagers. The results showed that most of the librarians/librarymanagers knew kinds of library collection of grey literature. Mostlibraries collected grey literature from gifts and of their institutes ownpublications. Registration, cataloging and classification were doneby most libraries. Almost all respondents use the UDC for classification,AGROVOC Thesaurus to determine keywords, and data entry weredone electronically. More than half of respondents had digitized greyliterature. Most of grey literature’s collection were kept separatingfrom other collections. Circulation of the grey literature was the mostservices provided by the respondents.

Abstract

Informasi hasil penelitian/pengkajian pertanian perlu disebarkankepada pengguna melalui berbagai media, salah satunya adalah melaluisitus web. Tujuan pengkajian adalah untuk mengetahui pemanfaatansitus web Balai Pengkajian Teknologi Pertanian (BPTP) SulawesiTenggara dalam upaya penyebaran informasi hasil penelitian danpengkajian teknologi pertanian yang dilaksanakan oleh BPTP SulawesiTenggara. Pengkajian dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Desember 2010di BPTP Sulawesi Tenggara dengan cara mengumpulkan data penggunamelalui fasilitas server web BPTP Sulawesi Tenggara. Hasil pengkajianmenunjukkan bahwa pengguna yang mengakses situs web BPTPSulawesi Tenggara sebanyak 81 orang per hari. Artikel yang terbanyakdiakses adalah Kajian Pemupukan Kakao Spesifik Lokasi, yaitu 1.861kali (14,30%). Negara yang terbanyak mengunjungi situs web BPTPSulawesi Tenggara adalah Amerika Serikat yaitu 19.395 kali. Linkatau koneksi yang terbanyak digunakan adalah Google. Information on agricultural research result should be disseminatedto users through various media, one of those media is website. Theaim of the study was to find out the use of Southeast SulawesiAssessment Institute for Agricultural Technology (AIAT) website asmedia for information dissemination of agricultural technology. Thestudy was conducted in January-December 2010 in SoutheastSulawesi AIAT by collecting data of users through facilities of webserver of Southeast Sulawesi AIAT. The results showed that averageusers accessing the website was 81 users per day. Article mostlyaccessed was study on specific location cocoa fertilizer applicationas much as 1,861 times (14.30%). The United States was state whichmostly accessed Southeast Sulawesi AIAT website as much as 19,395times, while links or connections mostly used was Google.

Abstract

Study on Dissemination of Cereal Technology InnovationThrough ExhibitionExhibition of Cereal Technology Innovation was one of the activitiesto disseminate the research results to the users. The exhibition washeld on the occasion of the National Cereal Week in Maros, SouthSulawesi on 26-30 July 2010. The purpose of the study was to findout the user’s perception on the supporting materials displayed(materials of the technology innovation), stand guides, the layout ofthe stand, and the satisfaction of the visitors of the whole exhibitionorganization, as well as to obtain the feedbacks for the actual needsof the users and the improvement for the next exhibition. The resultsshowed of 107 visitors as respondents, 84.12% of them expressed thematerials displayed were relevant with the theme of the exhibitionand 73,83% said they fit to the needs. Almost all respondents saidthat the materials were sufficiently up-to-date and interesting and thestand guides were able to give information related to materialsdisplayed. In addition, 98.13% of the respondents perceived thestand decoration was interesting and all respondents expressed theirsatisfaction of sufficiently satisfied, satisfied and very satisfied overthe materials. The feedbacks reflected the importance of supportingdisplayed materials in multimedia formats and demonstration,enhancing the quality and quantity of the guides as well as moresocializing or promoting the exhibition so as to more farmers andsociety at large visit the exhibition in order to reach the expectedtargets.

Abstract

Salah satu indikator keberhasilan balai penelitian adalah seberapabesar publikasi ilmiah yang dihasilkan disitir oleh artikel lain.Pengkajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keterpakaian publikasiBalai Penelitian Tanaman Kacang-kacangan dan Umbi-umbian(Balitkabi) oleh penulis artikel lain. Pengkajian menggunakanpendekatan bibliometrika terhadap prosiding seminar Balitkabi tahun2006-2010. Dalam periode lima tahun, prosiding tersebut memuat295 artikel dengan 169 penulis pertama yang berbeda. Hasilpengkajian menunjukkan bahwa 66,27% penulis hanya memberikontribusi satu artikel dan delapan penulis (4,73%) menerbitkan 5-7artikel selama lima tahun. Jumlah artikel dari luar Balitkabi cenderungmeningkat setiap tahun. Proporsi jumlah sitiran yang berasal daripublikasi Balitkabi dengan publikasi umum relatif hampir sama,berkisar antara 19-22% dan 77-80% setiap tahun. Sebanyak 873sitiran (20,96%) berasal dari publikasi Balitkabi dan merupakan karyadari 70 peneliti Balitkabi. Sitiran diri sendiri (self-citation) mencapai6,5%. Tiga penulis Balitkabi memperoleh frekuensi sitiran antara50-59 kali. One of indicator to measure the success of a research institute is howwell its scientific publication is cited by other articles. A bibliometricstudy was conducted to identify usability of Indonesian Legumesand Tuber Crops Research Institute (ILETRI) publication by otherwriters. Two hundred ninety five articles with 169 different first authorsof ILETRI Seminar Proceedings published in 2006-2010 used asdata for the study. The result showed that 66.27% authors contributedone article and eight writers (4.73%) published 5-7 articles in fiveyears. Number of articles written by non-ILETRI researchers tendedto increase each year. The proportional number of citation originatedfrom ILETRI with the ones from outside was relatively the same,ranging 19-22% and 77-80% each year. There were 873 citations(20,96%) originated from ILETRI publication and were written by70 ILETRI researchers. Self-citation reached 6.5% and three ILETRIwriters were of highly cited frequency in 50-59 times.
