Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of the study was to obtain the chemical compositions and amino acids of male and female mudskipper (Periophthalmus sp). This study using the comparative experimental with  T-test consists of two treatments that was male and female mudskipper. The data was obtained presented in table form, analyzed descriptively and statistically with average standar deviation of the variables T1 and T2. The chemical characteristics of male and female mudskipper meat of water, ash, fat, protein, carbohydrate were 81.92, 80.00%; 10.21, 12.21%, 2.00, 2.04%; 86.68, 84.774%; 1.13, 1.01% (DW), respectively. Amino acids content on male and female mudskipper were 48.31, 42.88% (WW), respectively. The sex of fish has a significantly affect on the value of water, ash, fat, protein and amino acids content. Keywords: amino acids, chemical composition, mudskipper

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research was conducted at experimental pond, Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty Riau University fron January to March 2018. The aim of the research was to determine the benefits of the provision of turi leaves flour as a substitue soybean meal of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac). The experiment was design by completely random design and student duncan to differentiate among treatments. The treatments were applied namely ( 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100%). The result indicated that utilization of turi leaves flour does have significantly effect on grown of Gurami (Osphronemus gouramy Lac). The best result was achieved by treatment P3 ( 75% turi leaves flour and 25% soybean meal). Give an average feed dige stibility 62%, protein digestibility 78%, spesific growth rate 3,2%, feed efficiency of 43,22%, and protein retention 35,48% and survival rate of 95,00%. Water quality during the research are temperature 24-28 oc , Ph of 6-7, and disolved oxygen of 2,8-3,4 ppm. Keyword : Osphronemus gouramy Lac, turi leaves flour

Abstract

ABSTRACT Research on the Relationship between Mindset and the Income Level of    Traditional Fishermen Communities held in March 2018 in Sungai Undan VillageReteh sub-District, Indragiri Hilir Regency, Riau Province. This study aims to find out how the mindset of the fishing community to find out how the level of income of fishermen and to find out how the relationship of mindset with the level of income of fishermen. The method used in this study is the survey method which is analyzed using Rank Spearman and the number of respondents in this study were 30 respondents who were processed using the SPSS 20 application.               From the results of the research analysis, it was found that the mindset of the fishing community in Sungai Undan Village was seen from an indicator of mindset among group activities, the level of technology adoption, saving habits, confidence, educational orientation, gender mainstreaming, business orientation. From some indicators of the relationship between mindset of fishermen in Sungai Undan Village which have a real relationship with income with a value of rs = 0.583 ** group activity, the rate of technology adoption with a value of rs = 0.423 * confidence with a value of rs = 0.159 *, educational orientation with rs = 0,599 **, gender equalization with rs = 0,435 * and business orientation with rs = 0,500 **. Abstract

ABSTRACT               This research was conducted from April to June 2018 for 42 days at the TIU Improvement (Technical Implementation Unit) Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, Riau University. The purpose of this study is to in vestigatedifferent form of container with recirculation systems. Water treatment from tarpaulin with a capacity of 80 L in air volume. Fish stock was 20 fish/tank. The research method was the experimental method with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Treatments was : P1= Circle Shape, P2 = Square Shape, P3= Leg Length and P4= Triangle Shape. The results of this study can be concluded that the different forms of container are not significant to the growth of red tilapia, but the forms of containers are significantly different for the survival of red tilapia. Growth performance of round shape, square shape, rectangular shape and triangle shape, each of which has given weight growth 9.12 g; 10.04 g; 8.95 g; and 8.49 g, then the growth of a double length of 4.30 cm; 4.56 cm; 4.13 cm; and 4.03 cm, daily growth rate of 4.29%, 4.67%, 4.43% and 4.34, feed feed 82,04%, 91,47%, 83,61% and 79,66%, and the rate of life is 85.00%, 96.66%, 90.00% and 85.00%. The measurement results of water quality are still in the optimal range in the maintenance of red tilapia, namely temperatures of 26-29.3 ° C, pH 6.3-6.8, DO 4.5-6.1 mg / L, and ammonia 0.26- 0.17 mg / L.Keywords : Oreochromis sp, recirculation system, different shape of tank survival rate

Abstract

ABSTRACT    This research was aimed to determine the effect of breadfruit(Artocarpus altilis)addition on shredded carp (Osphronemus goramy)to consumer acceptance. The method used was experimental with Completely Randomized Design (CRD) which consists of 4 treatment levels of addition various breadfruit concentrations on shredded carp: A0 (0%),  A1 (20%), A2 (40%), A3 (60%). The parameters tested were organoleptic and proximate analysis.The results showed that the addition 20% of breadfruitin shredded carp was the best treatment and most preferable by consumer with 77 panelist (96.25%).The characteristics of golden yellow appearance, the typical aroma of fish still feels, the texture of coarse, soft and dryfibers, the savory taste still feels with medium flavor. The proximate analysis for water, protein, fat, ash, and fiber content was 1.06%, 24.92%, 18.24%, 3.78% and 0.93%, respectively.Keywords: breadfruit addition, chemical composition, consumer acceptance, shredded carp

Abstract

ABSTRACT                 His research was conducted for 40 days from October 25, 2017 to 3 December 2017 which took place at the Laboratory of Fish Breeding and Breeding at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau. This study aims to determine the Effect of Light and Shelter Interaction on the Growth and Survival of Baung Larvae (Hemabargus nemurus) which is maintained by a water aeration system. The method used in this study is the experimental method while the factorial design is Completely Randomized Design with two factors, namely the light factor with three levels of each light 0, light 12 hours, light 24 hours. Whereas the second factor is the amount of shelter provision, each S (using shelter) and NS (do not use shelter) To reduce the error of each treatment level, repeat 3 times.               From the results of the study obtained the best growth and survival of G0NS (dark for 24 hours not using shelter) resulted in the growth of absolute weight of baung fish larvae of 2.44 grams, absolute growth rate of 4.91 cm followed by a specific growth rate of 11.30% / day and survival 98.92%. The results of measurements of water quality obtained temperatures ranging from 25.4-28.2 0C, pH ranged from 5.2 to 6.4 and DO ranged from 5.0 to 6.0 ppm. Keywords: Hemabargus nemurus, Light, Shelter,

Abstract

ABSTRACT  The research was carried out to determine the effect of additional eel tailed catfish (Paraplotosus albilabris) protein concentrate on the egg tart crust quality. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) non factorial with four treatment levels, which was the additional different concentration of eel tailed catfish protein concentrate into egg tart crust: without eel tailed catfish protein concentrate (P0), 5% of eel tailed catfish protein concentrate (P1), 10% of eel tailed catfish protein concentrate (P2), 15% of tailed catfish protein concentrate (P3). The treatment was repeated 3 times, so there were 12 units of trial unit. The result of the study based on organoleptic tested, it was indicated that the additional 10 % of eel tailed catfish protein concentrate into egg tart crust (P2) was the best treatment with value of appearance 7.83, flavour 7.51, texture 7.45, and taste 8.12. Based on proximate analysis that P2 treatment was contained water, ash, protein, and fat content 3.60%, 1.51%, 8.16%, and 7.95%, respectively. Keywords: eel tailed catfish, egg tart crust, fish protein concentrate

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe research aims to determine the the best doses of recombinant growth hormone (rGH) in commercial feed on the growth rate of Mystus nigriceps in culture of resirculation system. The experiment was conducted from 25 July to 24 August 2018 at Laboratorium Cultivation Technology Faculty of The Fisheries of Marine, University of Riau. This research used experimental method use was completely randomized design (CRD) with of 5 treatments and 3 replicates. Wich were treatments 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 mg/1000g of commercial feed PF 800. Fish samples used are the catfishes  with an average length of 4-5 cm and weight of 0,3-0,6 g are readed in aquarium (40x30x30) cm3 in a density 2 individu/L. The fish were fed with the rGH supplemented diet one three days 5% body weight. The results showed that fish treatment by rGH with doses of 2 mg/1000g feed was the best treatment than other treatment with value of growth body weight (5,15 g) and lenght (5,52 cm), specific growth rate (9,47 %), feed efficiency (83,05%) and feed convertion (1,21) of fish. That conclution is giving rGH significantly affect the growth rate  and the best doses are 2 mg/1000g feed. Keywords:Mystus nigriceps, recombinant growth hormone, resirculation system

Abstract

 ABSTRACT    This research was carried out in March 2018 In Pasar II Natal VillageNatalSub District Mandailing Natal Regency Sumatera Utara Province. This study aims to find out the marketing channels of fish caught by gillnet drift In Pasar II Natal VillageNatalSub District Mandailing Natal Regency Sumatera Utara Province and to analyze the costs, profits and margins of marketing of fish caught by gillnet drift In Pasar II Natal VillageNatalSub District Mandailing Natal Regency Sumatera Utara Province. The method used in this research is survey method with 35 respondents.            Fish caught by fishermen In Pasar II Natal VillageNatalSub District Mandailing Natal Regency Sumatera Utara Province use gillnet drift consisting of three types of fish, namely Tongkol (Euthynnus affinis), Mackerel fish (Scomberromo commersoni) and Kembung fish (Rastrelliger sp). And fish marketing channels In Pasar II Natal VillageNatalSub District Mandailing Natal Regency Sumatera Utara Province there are two marketing channels, the first is from fishermen to traders to retailers to consumers. Second, from fishermen to retailers to consumers. As for marketing channel I, the highest total marketing costs are found in tuna, which is  IDR 6.000 /kg, total marketing profit of is IDR 12.000/kg, and marketing margin of IDR 14.000/kg. For marketing channel II, the highest marketing costs are in tuna fish, which is IDR 2.400/kg, total marketing profit is IDR 9.200/kg, and marketing margin is IDR  10.000/kg. Keywords: Marketing, Gillnet Drift, Fishermen, Catches, Costs

Abstract

ABSTRACT Green turtle (Chelonia mydas) is one type of reptile that is protected because endangered. This research was conducted in March-April 2018 in the Chagar Hutang of Redang Island, Terengganu, Malaysia. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of the nesting beach of green turtle(C. mydas). The method used in this study is the survey method. There are 3 observation stations, station 1 located in a location that has little vegetation and there is a tide pool around the station. Station 2 is located in a dense vegetation and has a gentle slope category. While station 3 is located in an area near the less and the has less dense vegetation. The slope of the beach at each station were measured. Characteristics of nesting beaches include the slope, width,flora and fauna, the type of substrate, air temperature and sea water temperature. The  results of the study showed that the slope of these coast ranged from 3.65 to 5.35˚ classified as sloping. The width of the beaches were quite wide, ranged 26.47-36.46 meters. The common vegetation consist includes ketapang (Terminalia cattapa), sea pandanus (Pandanus tectorius) and babakoan (Scaevola raccada). While the common fauna includes ghost crab (Ocypodinae), monitor lizards (Varanus), fire ants (Solenopsis), hermit crabs (Paguroidea), and various types of corals (Coral). The type of substrate was gravel sand with air temperature in the range of 27-29ºC, while the sea water temperature was in the range of 28-29ºC. Keyword: Cheloniamydas, Characteristics Nesting Beach, Chagar Hutang
