Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was carried out on June 4 to July 13 2018 which was held at the Regional Technical Implementation Unit Pond of Fisheries and Marine Faculty, Riau University, Pekanbaru.This study aims to determine the addition of the best probiotic doses to the feed in increasing the growth and survival rate of  Hemibagrus nemurus with aquaponic technology. The method used in this study is an experimental method using a single-factor completely randomized design with five treatment levels and three replications. The treatments were :1) 0 ml/kg of feed (control), 2) 2 ml/kg of feed, 3) 4 ml/kg of feed, 4) 6 ml/kg of feed and 5) 8 ml/kg of feed.The results of the 40-day study found that the best treatment was 6 ml/kg of feed which gave absolute weight growth of 6.26 g, absolute length growth of 4.12 cm, daily fish growth rate of 1.15%, feed conversion value of 1, 03 and the survival rate of 93.33%. The results of measurements of water quality during the study were temperatures of 25 - 310C, dissolved oxygen from 4.3 to 6.5 mg/L, pH 6-7, ammonia 0.16 - 0.26 mg/L.  Keywords: Aquaponics, Hemibagrus nemurus,Probiotics,  Growth

Abstract

Abstract            Ectoparasites is an organism whom attach itself on the outside of host’s body. The purpose of the study was to determine distribution of ectoparasites which attack catfish in fishponds. The research was conducted in January until March 2018. Fish sample size 8-14 cm, was collected from fishponds in Kuok village, Riau Province, and identificated on Parasites and Fish Disease Laboratory of Marine and Fisheries Faculty University of Riau.The result shown that ectoparasites was found, there were; Dactylogyrus sp., Trichodina sp.,  Oodinium sp. The prevalence value has an average 50-60 % and intensity for each ectoparasites, there were; Dactylogyrus sp. 7-10 cell/fish, Trichodina sp. 3-5 cell/fish, and Oodinium sp. 4-5 cell/fish. Water quality in fishponds Kuok Village, Bangkinang Barat District of research shown that was normally water quality, with temperature average 27-30 0C, pH 6-7, DO 5,4-5,8 mg/L, and ammonia 0,14-0,30 mg/L. Keywrods: Catfish, Prevalence and Intensity, Ectoparasites

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis research was conducted in March 2018, located in PanipahanVillage, Pasir Limau Kapas District, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province, to find out the marketing channels of white pomfret (Pampus Argenteus) at CV. Alam Mulia Bahari, Panipahan Village. Analyze the costs, profits and margins of pomfret marketing white (Pampus Argenteus) in CV. Alam Mulia Bahari, Panipahan Village. The method used in this research is survey method, namely by observing directly. The number of fishermen as many as fishermen, the owner of CV. Alam Mulia Bahari 3 people, employees of CV. Alam Mulia Bahari 10 people and the method of taking respondents is by census. Whereas the sampling of traders is by sampling, consisting of 5 egents, 10 retailers, 5 along-along merchants.The result showed that there were two marketing channels at CV. Alam Mulai Bahari, Panipahan Village, Pasir Limau Kapas Village, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. In the marketing channels I, the total marketing costs was IDR. 2,300/kg, total marketing profit of IDR.2,700/kg and marketing margin of IDR.5,000 per kg. For marketing channels II the total marketing cost is IDR. 3,000 per kg, the total marketing profit IDR. 4,000 per kg, and the Subdistrict, Rokan Hilir Regency, Riau Province. Then the marketing channel I is the most efficient marketing channel for White Bawal Fish with a low marketing margin of IDR. 5,000 and has high marketing value 0f 87.5% Kata Kunci: Margin, Costs, Benefits, Marketing Channels

Abstract

Abtract The study aimed to determine the effect of the addition of the commercial papain enzymes and papaya leaves on the quality and characteristics freshwater scallop sauce. The research was carried out by using the experimental method, by conducting experiments on making of freshwater scallop sauce by adding commercial papain enzymes and papaya leaves. The experimental was designed as the non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The treatment given was consisted of 3 levels namely P0 (control), P1 (addition of commercial papain enzyme), P2 (addition of papaya leaves), for 3 replications. The result showed that the addition of commercial papain enzymes and papaya leaves significantly affected to the taste, flavor, protein content and NPN values, but did not affect lactic acid bacteria. The freshwater scallop processed by addition of papaya leaves (P2) was producing the best quality of the scallop sauce, which was shown by the highest organoleptic value. The value of taste was 7.2 with characteristics tasty and quite salty as specific scallop sauce taste, but papaya slightly tasted. The value of aroma was 6.8, characterized by the specific aroma of fermented fresh scallop. Meanwhile, the highest content of protein was produced by the control treatment (P0) at 2.99 %, the highest content of non-protein nitrogen was produced by treatment of the addition of commercial papain enzyme (P1) at 0.74 %, and the highest number of lactic acid bacteria was shown in the product treated by the addition of papaya leaves (P2) at 6.7Keyword: characteristics, enzyme, papain,Pilsbryoconcha exilis,sauce

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to determine the effect of temperature and boiling time on the quality of katsuobushi skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis) based on organoleptic test (appearance, aroma, texture, taste), proximate analysis (water, protein, ash, phenol, pH value) and microbiological test (Total Plate Count, fungi identification). The experimental design used in this study was a two factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of boiling temperature with 3 treatment levels, namely 70-80oC (S1), 81-90oC (S2), 91-100oC (S3) as the first factor, and time with 2 treatment levels, namely 30 minutes (L1) and 60 minutes (L2) as the second factor. The results showed that katsuobushi with treatment (S1L1) was the best treatment, indicated by the highest organoleptic quality with a value 8.12 and the characteristics clean, shiny color, no cracks; texture value 8.28 with the characteristics of hard, not easily broken; aroma value 7.64 with the specific characteristics of aroma scent without additional odor; taste value 7.69 with the characteristics of very tasty, savory; water content 11.94%, protein 78.95%, ash 0.56%, phenol 0.0013%, pH value 5.68, Total Plate Count 2.7 x 103 cfu/g and identification of fungi found in the type of Aspergillus sp. Keywords : boiling, katsuobushi, skipjack fish, temperature

Abstract

ABSTRACT             The study was conducted on 11 July - 20 August 2018 in the Laboratory of Fish Breeding and Breeding at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the type % Tubifex (fresh, frozen and dry) and water change rate (L / minute) (debit) on the growth and survival of sheat fish larvae (Ompok rhadinurus) feed in recirculation system for 40 days. The method used is a Factorial Complete Random Match (RAL) with two factors, namely the first factor in the form of feed with three levels each Tubifex fresh (Ts), frozen Tubifex (Tb), dry Tubifex (Tk). While the second factor is the water debit of each D1 (1 liter / minute water debit), D0.5 (0.5 liter / minute water discharge). To minimize errors, each level of treatment was repeated 3 times. The best growth rate in the treatment of Ts D1 (Tubifex fresh with 1 liter / minute water discharge) with an absolute weight of 7.85 gr, absolute length 10.11 cm, average growth rate of 18.23% / day, and survival rate 94.44. The condition of water quality is the water temperature 27-280C, pH 5,6-5,7 and dissolved oxygen 5,6-6,1 mg / l. Keywords : Ompok rhadinurus, Type %, Tubifek sp, water

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study on the correlation performance of the extension agent  and Livelihoods and Mindset was carried out in March 2018 in Sungai Beringin Town, Lima Puluh Kota District, West Sumatra Province. The study aims to determine  Performance of the extension agent in Syariah fish farmer group, advance understanding  livelihoods and mindset of the Syariah fish farmer group members, and knowing the correlation between performance of the extension agent with livelihoods and mindset of the Syariah fish farmer group members. The method used in this study is survey method which was analyzed using descriptive analysis and Vectorial Project Analysis (VPA) and the number of respondents in this study were 24 respondents.The results of the study analysis, performance of the extension agent in Syariah fish farmer group obtained a score of 1599 and were in the good category. Based on the analysis of VPA (Vectorial Project Analysis), there is a change in livelihoods and mindset of the Syariah fish farmer group from the preparation stage to the growth stage, which is up from 4.51 to 5.19. The relationship between the performance of extension agent and the livelihoods and mindset of Syariah fish farmer group members is that the agent influences the knowledge and awareness of the members in participating in counseling, adopting technology and information obtained from extension activities so that the mindset of group members increases towards a better one.Keywords: correlation, performance of the extension agent , livelihood and mindset

Abstract

                                        ABSTRACT This research was conducted in January 2018 in the Dumai sea waters of Riau Province with the aim to determine the oil content in sediments, the abundance of macrozoobenthos, and the effect of oil content on sediments on the abundance of macrozoobenthos. The research location is divided into 5 stations, from each station consisting of one transect line and each transect line consists of 3 plots (1m x 1m). Taking sediment samples using a pipe (pvc) while taking macrozoobenthos samples with the help of a small shovel. The results of the study obtained an average oil content in the sediment of 73.86 ppm. The abundance of macrozoobenthos varies per station with a range of 35,00 ind/m2– 69,33 ind/m2. The macrozoobenthos species found consisted of 15 species with phyla, and 5 classes. The relative abundance value of macrozoobenhtos varies from 2,88% to 24,79%. Based on simple linear regression, the effect of oil content on sediments on the abundance of macrozoobenthos is very strong (R2= 0,761); (r) = 0,87. The abundance of macrozoobenthos is influenced by the oil content in the sediment of 76,1% and the rest is influenced by other factors such as predators, competition, and food reserves. Keywords: Pollution, Macrozoobenthos, Sediment oil content

Abstract

ABSTRACTEpilithicdiatom are one of the diatom that can withstand waves and currents, attached to hard substrates or rocks. This research was conducted from March 2018 - April 2018 located in Buo Bay Area, Padang,West Sumatra. Thegoal of this research are to determine the water quality and the structure community of epilithic diatom in Buo Bay Area, Padang, West Sumatra. The survey method was appllied in this research, sampling location were set up purposively which divided into 3 stations. Water quality measurements are carried in each station which consists of physical parameters specifically temperature, current velocity, brightness and chemical parameters consists of salinity, dissolved oxygen, acidity. Based on water quality measurement at buo baycan support the growth of epilithic diatom organism. The result showed that there were 15 genus of epilithic diatom in buo bay padang. The highest average abundance of epilithic diatoms is in station 2 was 3340.22 individual/cm2 and lowest section  is in station 3 with the average of abundance value was 2741.97 individual/cm2. Key Word: Water Quality, Community Structure, Abundance, Epilitic Diatom

Abstract

ABSTRACT This research was conducted in March 2018. The purpose of this research was to determine the water quality, the structure of epiphytic diatoms community in Nirwana Beach Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The method used were consisting of field survey.Identification and analysis of epiphytic diatoms was conducted at Marine. Biology Laboratory Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau.Based on the results of the study,the abundance of epiphytic diatoms ranged between 7.077 ind/cm2 - 22.155 ind/cm2, diversity index (H ') ranged from 1,4325 - 1,8315 (medium category), uniformity index (E) ranged from 0,6482 - 0,7110 means the uniformity of organisms in the waters of Nirwana Beach is in a stable state, and dominance index (C) ranged from 0,4042 - 0,5111 . it can be said that there are types that dominate at station III. The identification found 9spesies of epiphytic diatoms i.e.: Melosirasp., Coscinodiscussp., Cocconeissp., Diploneissp., Gyrosigmasp., Naviculasp., Pleurosigmasp., Nitzschiasp. danRhizosoleniasp.
