Abstract

A dam is a building used as a barrier to retaining river water flow to form a reservoir with water reserves. Some of the uses of dams include irrigation, power generation, and flood control facilities. Most dams also have a section called a water gate, which functions to remove unwanted water gradually or continuously. Dams have different water levels every time due to climate and rainfall, This will affect the water discharge in the dam. The water level in the dam can be utilized to produce potential energy which will later be used for electricity generation. The water flow also affects the productivity of the electrical power that can be generated. Therefore, this research will design an open-close regulating weir water gate of a Merangin Dam miniature using a water level sensor and an Arduino microcontroller. The test is carried out using three water level sensors, each water level sensor has three states so in this research there will be 27 states to openclose the water gate system. Based on the test results, the HY-SRF05 water level sensor has an error range of 0,02% to 21,72% where the measured water level has a higher error when the water level is lower. The test of the YF-S201water flow sensor obtained results where the water level in the dam affects the water flow in the penstock, the higher the water level of the miniature dam, the greater the water discharge in the penstock. Water flow sensor measurements obtained the highest water discharge value of 5,43 liters/minute with an error of 6,77% at a water level of 25 cm in the dam. The test results show that the system of opening and closing the regulating weir water gate can work with the desired conditions and results.Key Words: Dam, Regulating Weir, Water Gate

Abstract

This study discusses the effect of the gas concentration of tetrafluoroethane (R-134) on the dielectric of carbondioxide gas (CO2) in a non-homogeneous DC high field. The influence analyzed is the dielectric strength. This research was carried out using variations in the condition of changes in the concentration of R-134 gas, the total pressure of the mixed gas, and the distance between the electrodes. Variations in the concentration of R-134 gas in carbondioxide gas are 0%, 10%, 20%, and 30% which are calculated based on the total pressure of the mixed gas. The variations in the total pressure of the mixed gas are 2000 mBar, 2200 mBar, 2400 mBar, and 2600 mBar. The variation of the gap between the two electrodes is 1,5 cm and 3 cm. Furthermore, distribution simulations and calculations of electric field efficiency were carried out using FEMM 4.2 software, so that the dielectric strength values could be calculated. The results obtained in this study are the greater the concentration of gas R-134 given, the higher the value of the dielectric strength. At the same concentration of R-134 gas, an increase in the total pressure of the mixed gas and the value of the gap also causes an increase in the value of the dielectric strength. Keywords: dielectric strength, gas insulator, carbondioxide, tetrafluoroethane

Abstract

Photovoltaic (PV) systems as a source of renewable electricity generation have experienced rapid development. However, PV systems have several problems, one of which is that the generated electrical power is unbalanced affected by temperature, humidity, irradiation, etc., which makes it difficult to obtain maximum power from PV. In addition, the difference in irradiation levels on each PV module caused by partial shading conditions can cause more than one peak on the PV characteristic curve. This study will compare the performance of the Firefly and Incremental Conductance algorithms in tracking the global peak in the PV characteristic curve. In simulating partial shading conditions, this research uses 6 PV modules connected in series-parallel with 4 test scenarios where each module has a different irradiation value. Simulation testing in this research uses MATLAB-SIMULINK software. Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) simulation results show that from experiments using 4 different test scenarios, the Firefly algorithm obtained an average efficiency of 98.6437%. While the Incremental Conductance algorithm obtained an average efficiency of 78.3448%. So that the percentage of the superiority of the Firefly algorithm over the Incremental Conductance algorithm is 19.9607%. Abstract

Aquaponics is a system of cultivating fish (aquaculture) and plants (hydroponics) together in a circulated/mutually beneficial ecosystem that uses natural bacteria to convert fish feed waste & residues into plant nutrients. Aquaponics aquaculture innovation is considered to play an important role in meeting the needs of fish and vegetables in the market. In addition to being economical, the potential of aquaponics cultivation can be a reserve for fish and vegetable needs in waters and rice fields. Water quality is a key parameter in aquaponics. To get optimal results, water conditions must be maintained, one of which is the pH of the water. The degree of acidity of the growing media and the sangan water affects the growth of fish and plants in aquaponics. If the pH level is too low or too high, it can interfere with the growth of fish and plants. The implementation of the fuzzy logic control method mamdani on controlling the pH of the water is a way to maintain the quality of the water in the aquarium, especially the pH so that the growth of fish and plants is optimal. Controlling the pH of water in aquaponics using the mamdani fuzzy logic method, by determining the membership function so that it can control the volume output of the pH up solution or pH down solution so that the pH of the water in aquaponics remains neutral. From the results of the study, the tool was able to control the pH of water in aquaponics in accordance with the desired membership function setpoint, namely 6.5 -7 with an average error of 0.14% regulating the output of the pH up and pH down solution volumes with the desired value. Abstract

Surveillance is necessary in the medical world, especially in the case of diseases with high transmission rates. Quarantine is imposed on people who have infected to prevent transmission. In the quarantine process, surveillance plays an important role in keeping the position of people who are under quarantine in the permitted zone, to do that, a device can be used to detect the location of these people and provide warnings if someone leaves the quarantine zone. Geofencing is defined as a perimeter for real-world geographic areas. The term geofencing refers to the technology to draw virtual boundaries on maps and trigger certain actions based on the boundaries. The application of geofencing in this research uses the radius method with a circle-shaped geofencing zone and the center point of the circle as a reference. If the distance of the object from the center point is greater than the radius of the geofencing zone, it indicates that the object is outside the geofencing zone. When the object coordinates exceed the specified radius (radius of the circle) then the system will trigger the apps to bring up a notification, so that the supervisor can act immediately. The application of geofencing can simplify the surveillance process because the supervisor can know exactly the location of the person being surveilled and can quickly take action if someone leaves the geofencing zone. Abstract

From 2019 until 2020, Microhydro Power Plant (MHP) Units A1 and A2 measured a significant power decrease of more than 75% from their template capacities. Therefore, CSR PT PJ Paiton with PKSDAL Brawijaya University created a program called “Increasing The Power Capacity Of Andungbiru MHP Units A1 And A2 For The Lead Of Safe And Sustainable Electricity In 2022”. In this experiment, Unit A1 will be used as the test object, as the purpose it is to measure the success of the increasing electrical power and quality programs of Andungbiru’s MHP, especially Unit A1. The success analysis needed is in terms of increasing generator power, stability of generator output characteristics, and knowing the level of quality or efficiency of the generator after repairs and also knowing the level of stability of the generator when a fault occurs. The test is carried out in various loadings to get results that can represent the use of Andungbiru’s MHP consumers with a Dummy Load test device and a data logger with the Mod Bus Tool application with RS482 Cable Driver with load intervals of 25%-50%-75%-100%. The characteristics of the generator are considered quite good from the relationship between the variables. Keywords – MHP, Synchronous Generator, Load Variation, Electrical Impact, Desa Andungbiru, Kecamatan Tiris, Kabupaten Probolinggo

Abstract

Water quality is one of the factors that must be considered so that the aquaponic system runs well. One of the important parameters in maintaining water quality is the degree of acidity (pH). Therefore, it is necessary to monitor and control the pH regularly. Control is carried out by adding a buffer solution to the aquaponic pond using a pump motor. Poor water pump performance can result in the incorrect addition of buffer solution according to the required calculation. Controlling the output volume of a mini water pump motor using the Sugeno fuzzy logic method aims to control the volume released according to predetermined calculations. From the research results, the system is able to control the pump output volume according to several predetermined setpoints, namely 25–350 mL with a maximum error steady state of 1% within 1.5–11.8 seconds by adjusting the speed of the pump motor according to the desired amount of solution. Keywords: pH, Fuzzy Logic Sugeno, mini water pump, setpoint

Abstract

Water quality is one of the main parameters in the aquaponic cultivation of tilapia and mustard greens. To produce tilapia and mustard greens that are healthy and fresh, the condition of the water in the aquaponics system must be maintained, one of which is the pH of the water. Tilapia and mustard greens require a pH range of 6 to 7, which is the optimal pH range for the growth of tilapia and mustard greens. Changes in the pH of aquaponic cultured water can adversely affect the lives of tilapia and green mustard, either directly or indirectly. Controlling the pH of water in aquaponic cultivation using the Sugeno fuzzy logic method involves determining the membership function so that it can control the administration of pH up (alkaline) and pH down (acidic) solutions. From the results of the study, the tool is able to control the pH of aquaponic aquaculture water according to the setpoint membership function that has been set, namely 6-7, and in several volumes of aquaponic cultivation ponds with a solution output of pH up and pH down according to the desired pH of aquaponic cultivation ponds with an error of 2.7%.Keywords: pH, Fuzzy Logic Sugeno, Membership Function, Volume, pH Up, pH Down
