Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh jenis material substrat terhadap kinerja antena mikrostrip patch bintang 21 pada frekuensi 2.4 GHz. Antena mikrostrip sebagai salah satu komponen inti dalam sistem komunikasi nirkabel sangat dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik substrat yaitu konstanta dielektrik dan loss tangen. Simulasi elektromagnetik menggunakan CST Studio suite 2021 dan pengukuran eksperimental menggunakan ARINST VNA dan anechoic chamber dilakukan untuk menganalisis dan membandingkan kinerja antena dengan dua jenis substrat yaitu FR-4 dan Rogers Duroid 5880.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemilihan substrat memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap kinerja antena. Substrat Rogers Duroid 5880 dengan konstanta dielektrik yang lebih rendah dan loss tangen yang lebih kecil menghasilkan kinerja yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan substrat FR-4. Antena dengan substrat Rogers Duroid 5880 memberikan nilai return loss dan VSWR yang lebih rendah, bandwidth yang lebih lebar, serta gain yang lebih tinggi. Hal ini mengindikasikan bahwa substrat Rogers Duroid 5880 dapat digunakan untuk aplikasi yang membutuhkan kinerja antena yang lebih optimal.Temuan penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi penting dalam perancangan antena mikrostrip untuk berbagai aplikasi komunikasi nirkabel. Pengetahuan mengenai pengaruh material substrat terhadap kinerja antena sangat bermanfaat dalam memilih substrat yang sesuai untuk mencapai karakteristik antena yang diinginkan. Kata kunci: Antena mikrostrip, frekuensi 2,4 GHz, substrat FR-4, substrat Rogers Duroid 5880, konstanta dielektrik, loss tangen, kinerja antena, CST Studio suite, ARINST VNA, anechoic chamber.

Abstract

Fish is Indonesia's mainstay product with national consumption reaching 56.48 kg per capita in 2022. However, fish rot quickly after death, especially at high temperatures such as 37°C which accelerates enzyme activity. To maintain freshness, a stable cold chain is needed during distribution and storage. The traditional method of using ice blocks in a cooler box often causes the ice to melt quickly, affecting temperature and humidity, and reducing fish quality. Ice blocks can also injure and cause bruising on the surface of the fish, which opens up gaps for spoilage bacteria to grow faster. In addition, conventional cooler boxes often fail to maintain ideal temperatures, accelerating the decline in fish quality, and potentially damaging the environment. Therefore, this study aims to design and build a temperature and humidity monitoring and controlling system in a fish cooler box based on the Internet of Things (IoT) with the fuzzy logic method. This system uses a DHT22 sensor to read temperature and humidity, ESP32 as a microcontroller, and Blynk Cloud for system monitoring. Fuzzy logic is used to provide a number of benefits to improve the efficiency of temperature and humidity control. The results of the study indicate that the system can work according to the design with the accuracy of DHT22 sensor reading at a temperature of 99.79% and humidity of 98.42%. The fuzzy logic system for thermoelectric cooling system and mist maker shows an accuracy of 98.1% and 98.3%. Abstract

The design of a Sequential Control System Algorithm for the Syrup Production Machine using PLC aims to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in production. In this research, the control algorithm is designed to automate various stages, including the transfer from truck to tank, heating, mixing of raw materials, and filling of the final product into packaging. Data collection was carried out through the simulation of a device created by the author, where sensors such as level, pressure, and temperature are integrated to detect operational conditions in real-time. The system then responds automatically to maintain product quality and minimize human error. The research results show that the designed system functions according to its capabilities, as demonstrated through checking the timeline diagram and validating against the truth table. The implementation of PLCbased control can improve production performance, reduce cycle time, and increase material filling accuracy while maintaining process stability and energy efficiency. Abstract

This study compares the performance of conventional circular patch and modified 27-star patch microstrip antennas, both operating at 2.4 GHz. Microstrip antennas are commonly used for their small size, though they have limitations such as low bandwidth. This research aims to improve antenna performance through geometric modifications and analyze the performance of the two antennas. Simulation results show that the 27-star patch achieves better return loss (-37.05 dB vs -35.31 dB) and superior bandwidth, while the circular patch performs better in real-world bandwidth tests (>4.2 GHz vs >4GHz). The circular patch exhibits a omnidirectional radiation pattern with elliptical polarization, whereas the 27-star patch shows a omnidirectional pattern with linear polarization. This study highlights the significance of geometric modifications and fabrication precision in enhancing microstrip antenna performance. Abstract

The development of global telecommunication technology, particularly the increasing demand for fast and reliable internet connections, has driven the adoption of fiber optic networks in Indonesia. Fiber optics, made from fine glass or plastic, provide a solution for data transmission due to their reliability and ability to carry large amounts of data at high speeds. However, one of the challenges in fiber optic installation is bending, which can lead to signal attenuation or loss. This research will conduct experiments on the effects of bending in FTTH networks, specifically focusing on power loss and bending loss due to macrobending. The experiment will be carried out by varying the bending radius, number of loops, and cable length to measure the impact on network performance using OPM and OTDR. The results of this study indicate that as the number of loops increases and the bending radius decreases, power loss becomes greater. This research will provide power link budget calculations, which will be compared with power measurements at the ONT to determine which power link budget results meet ITU-T standards. Additionally, bending loss measurements will be conducted to identify the attenuation that occurs.Keywords: Fiber Optic Communication, Bending, Power Loss, Bending Loss, Power Link Budget
