Abstract

PT. Sentosa Alloy Industri is a company which engaged in spare part manufacture field of motorcycle. This company produces velg, hub, flange, brake handle. The purpose of this study is to devise improvements proposed and quality plan in die casting process which aims to reduce the level of defects and improve the product quality. The result of this study are: the level of porous defects 4,38%,  the level of imperfect product defects 2,08%, the level of sticky product defects 1,43%, and the smallest level of defects is cracked with 0,04%. Potential problem can be identified and analyzed using fishbone and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method. The improvements proposed to get are got from the highest Risk Priority Number value (RPN), which occurs in Machine (RPN = 128), Method (RPN = 112), Man (RPN = 112), and Material (RPN = 72)

Abstract

PT X is one of coconut oil company in Indonesia with copra and Crude Palm Oil (CPO) as raw material.  PT X has ISO 9001:2008 certification, and now they want to get ISO 22000:2005 certification to gain customer satisfaction. One of ISO 22000:2005 requirement is certification of HACCP. This thesis intended to prepare HACCP at Plant-1 PT X. This preparation have been done until making of HACCP team, product description, making of flowchart, making of principle one until principle seven of HACCP. Result of this thesis has been done until making follow up steps for every Critical Control Point (CCP). Problems that occurs in CCP  are metal, oil and grease may contaminate coconut oil. Suggestions that given for these problems are oil and grease must be changed into food grade oil and grease and application of metal trap. Result of implementation that has been done is given metal trap for every section that highly risk contaminated by metal.

Abstract

This study discuss about XCSPA product’s work cell with lean problem WIP after curing process with the maximum location capacity 2640 pieces. Quality issue with main problem contact resistance has resistance value above 25 mΩ, will impact to product function. This study objective is doing improvement to work cell with Lean Six Sigma Method, for improve lean problem and quality issue. In this research, DMAIC is used to solve the problem, however we did not discuss the Improve step. Value Stream Mapping tool used for knowing value added and non-value added process with improvement opportunity. Quality tool using Process Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (PFMEA) for finding cause of problem and potential problem can be happened in XCSPA Work Cell. Reduction of WIP by rearrange WIP quantity between process that will reducing about 85.49% WIP quantity from VSM current state WIP quantity. Quality issue eliminated by change and modify production process. Eliminate quality issue will impact to CNQ reduction for the reject product. Target achievement stated has accomplish that was reduction of PLT from contribution of WIP reducing, otherwise MDR, PRR still can’t be monitored. There’s 26 improvement suggestion, with 11 suggestion done, 7 suggestion in progress, 5 suggestion not yet implemented, 3 suggestion aborted.

Abstract

DIVo is one of media that share information for students in Petra Christian University. The current version of DIVo use television as media for sharing information, and later, DIVo 3.0 will use mobile unit and wall mount. DIVo 3.0 will be distributed in 39 place, 31 of those are mobile unit. This study was conducted to determine the suitable layout design for DIVo so the information provided in the mobile unit DIVo can be clearly understood by students.Literature study and experiments were done to determine the details that should be used for Divo 3.0. Design of experiments was used to determine factors which are affecting the clarity of information. Factorial design is used as experiment design method and location for experiment is in 2 area in P building that categorized in different luminance. The experiment results showed that zoning, time of display, and colour combination of running ticker affects the clarity of information significantly. The best combination that gives the best clarity of information is using 1 main content area and 1 running ticker area, displayed for 10 seconds. White font in black background running ticker with speed rate 60 words per minute make the running ticker can be read clearly.

There are a lot of companies want to transform theirselves to be a “World Class Manufacturer”. Therefore, the World Class Maintenance (WCM) concept which refers to the best practice for maintenance system is widely adopted by several companies. WCM is a structured dan systematic concept of maintenance system. It has 5 main pillars which are EARM (Equipment Availability, Reliability, and Availability), planning and scheduling, maintenance management, material management, and contracted services. Those five pillars must be well applied in the company in order to achieve a high WCM score when being audited by auditor. PT X is one of the company who has applied WCM concept in its  maintenance system. The company has been assessed on WCM periodically and it has the pre-determined target. The standard assessment which has been determined is used to evaluate the WCM concept in PT X. Such improvements related to WCM has been done in order to be well applied in maintenance system and achieve a high score according to the target. WCM score from audit simulation is 4.17. It shows that the improvements which has been done give an impact on WCM score enhancement.

PT. X has already own Career Development System (CDS) as one of the guidelines for employees to develop in incumbent positions, but the use of CDS is not maximal, because CDS is too general and less describe about real job of the employee. Therefore, Career Development Tools (CDT) was invented, which is CDT has three outputs, development plan, evaluation form, and career path. As a first step, CDT is made for HR Department Personalia and Payroll. CDT helps employee to develop with guideline based on real job daily activities (development plan), helps evaluate employee (evaluation form), and provide general career lattice for employee (career path).

Abstract

The jobs of HRD at PT E-T-A are recruitment, people development, and layoff. PT E-T-A is currently using contract system for production operator. Contract for employement that expired can be extended or not depend on company policy, or company can open recruitment for employee depends on their demand. Solution is needed for production that must go on eventhough human resources changed. This solution is called competency matrix three on three, which one person masters minimal three competencies and one competency is mastered by three persons. The result of the evaluation still hasn’t met the requirement of three on three competency matrix, so that there is a few job that can’t be changed by the other employee. The causes of this problem are both operators and staff have not mastered certain competency, numbers of staff are limited, and contract expired. The solutions are given to change the staff competency matrix by blocking on competency which is not their own responsibility, make form competency development plan, job rotation schedule, and change how to fill in competency matrix from manually to automatically.

Abstract

CV Omega Plastics is one of the companies which produced various plastic products for household. Reject rate for juventus shelf tray was 7%. The biggest reject rate was on injection process. Those are holes and bend which are from pareto chart analysis. Fishbone diagram analysis is used to find the root cause of holes and bend defect. The main cause of holes and bend defect is injection machine setting. Pres and cycle time are the factors which influence production output. Failure Mode and Effect Analysis method is used to analyze the improvement to refuse reject rate. The improvement suggested are materials quality, machine setting, work instruction, and machine control schedule, those improvement can reduce 2% of juventus shelf tray reject rate.
