Abstract

Parametric Linear Programming is a development model of sensitivity analysis in which the inputs coefficient changes simultaneously. This model develops problem-solving in which the input coefficients are not definitely known, but it can be estimated within a certain interval according to the expected level of confidence. This paper outlines the benefits of Parametric Linear Programming to analyze the fluctuations impact of the objective function coefficients and constants of the optimal solution. Abstract

Good method, proper time, and ergonomic place are required in daily human activities. They are also required in electrical plug assembly activities, in which the speed of assembly is a very important factor. The research begins by investigating the plug assembly process using time and  motions study. The data were presented on the left hand map and right hand map. By changing the type of screwdriver, changing the component layout, balance the tasks and motions of the left and right hand, will increasing the speed of assembly from 90 seconds to 75 seconds. Keywords: hand motions, layout, cycle time

Abstract

Wireless Sensor Networks consist of nodes which are able to perform sensing, computation, and communication. In many aspects, sensor networks are similar but also different from the mobile ad hoc networks (MANET). Their similarities include topology, shared communication medium, and connectivity problems. Different from the MANET, the sensor networks typically contain lower mobility, much more limited resources, which therefore lead to scalability problems. Abstract

The implementation of planned and preventative maintenance is essential to the operation of aircraft engines so that failures can be prevented. The case study in PT XYZ reveals that the engine starter generator has an important function for the activation during the operation. The short brush component has the highest damage frequency among other components in the starter generator (approximately 63.16%). The Mann test results claimed that the failure of short brush was Weibull distributed with MTTF value of  329.674. In order to maintain the reliability of the machine, it is suggested that  performing routine maintenance and replacing critical components prior to the MTTF should be done. Abstract

Ant algorithm is one of Swarm Intellingence algorithms that can be used to solve NP-Hard problems. The scheduling of courses and lecturers which are done routinely each semester can be solved by exact methods and heuristic methods. Each institution has its own constraints in arranging the schedule. This paper discusses a case study in STMIK Widya Dharma. The type of ant algorithm used is the Rank Base Ant System suitable for scheduling based on ranking, which is the lecturers’ priority level. The other parameters are subjects, space, and time. Abstract

Virtualization technology has changed our view on how computation resources being used. This paper discusses how virtualization technology can be used to solve several limitations related to the software-based router using MikroTik RouterOS. Abstract

This paper investigates the influence of edge detection as a pre processing method for a capital letter handwriting recognition system on the accuracy of nearest neigbor classification system. The experimental results show that the use of edge detection did not  significantly enhance the recognition accuracy in comparison to the selection of large structuring element size in the dilation operation. Keywords:     Sobel edge detection, nearest neighbor, dilation morphology, binary image, handwriting recognition

Abstract

Part-of-speech (POS) tagging is the process of marking up a word in a text. The aim of this program application is to design a system that is able to proceed POS-Tagging in Indonesian documents by implementing Brill Tagger program. The results showed that of 11.411 words (20 news) used in testing process, 154 words underwent incorrect tagging and 11.257 words were properly labeled according to their part of speech. This indicated that the accuracy of POS-Tagging application program which implemented Brill Tagger Program was 98.65%.
