Abstract

The research was aimed to measure and analyze productivity in production department at Paint Industry for Automotive, the criteria used  are Quantity of production, number of sales, stock of raw materials, bad stock, electricity usage, loss production, machine breakdown, overtime hours, product stock productivity and Productivity of washing solvent usage. Data was obtained based on questionnaires and company data, the analysis was carried out using Objective Matrix Method and Company Key Performance Indicator to determine the level of company productivity. The results showed that the productivity of the company was low and unstable. Production productivity was the highest productivity but this productivity was not in accordance with the productivity conditions of other companies such as sales, raw material usage, labor, electricity usage, machine breakdown, and bad stock. Another highly contradictory productivity is the amount of overtime production numbers are not following the increase in the quantity of production. When production productivity rose, the productivity of other supporters decreased. These contradictory conditions indicate that the productivity of the quantity of production can still continue to be improved with make stronger controls for other support activities in line production.

Abstract

Education is an institution that has an important role in improving the quality of human resources. Based on this phenomenon, it is important to consider the problem of Motivation, Discipline, Job Satisfaction with the performance of teachers in Duta Mas Jakarta, because motivation and work discipline can influence job satisfaction and teacher performance. . In this study PLS-SEM approach is used. PLS-SEM aims to test predictive relationships between constructors or latent variables by looking at whether there is a relationship or influence between these constructions, so that the pathway has no significant effect. From the results and analysis of the data presented and explained, states the motivation, discipline, and job satisfaction of teachers towards the achievement of teachers. This is shown from the calculation of "t" between the path of the Coefficient of Motivation to the satisfaction obtained at 0.132, the <t-table 1.96, the t test for the difference in the Discipline coefficient towards the satisfaction obtained at 0.323, the <t-table 1.96, and t test for the difference in Satisfaction with Performance is obtained at 0.836, value <t-table 1.96, then paths have no significant effect.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the features of a 2-door refrigerator product that suitable the needs and desires of consumers at this era. The need and ever-growing desire for refrigerator products is not just to condition food or drinks or other goods so that the condition remains fresh or controlled at a certain temperature. The method used is Quality Function Deployment (QFD) by capturing customer voice (VOC). With this method the consumer voice obtained is then translated into product technical requirement in the development of new products. In this study the products studied were 2-door refrigerator products types that were suitable for the needs of consumers with a small number of families with consumer routines activities. The results of the study it was found that, there are 3 big points of the 2-door refrigerator products that consumers want that rapid freezing time, low prices, and low electricity consumption. To achieve this requirement, the fabrication company carries out air flow type modification, efficiency production cost, material usage and use of special components to get efficient energy products.

Abstract

Repair welding is often carried out in steel structural components. The main intention of repair welding is by providing a cure for existing welding defects during initial stages or weld deterioration during their services that can increase the service lives or performance of components. Repair welding is a better choice as compared to replacing the parts because it is a more economical, faster and reliable method to make a part come back to its services when failure of the parts is identified. In this study, the effect of welding parameters on tensile properties of AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel pipes was investigated. The best set of parameters was suggested by using Taguchi method as the design of experiment and analysis. Results showed that the optimum set of parameters for achieving highest ultimate tensile strength (UTS) values was when arc current, arc voltage and welding at 160 A, 22 V and 50 mm/min, respectively. On the other hand, the optimum set of parameters for achieving highest elongation percentage was when arc current, arc voltage and welding speed at 160 A, 22 V and 40 mm/min. Based on the optimum set of parameters, the repetitive welding to replicate a repairing process was performed. It was evidenced that the UTS showed an increasing trend up to the second repair (RW2) before decreased after the third repair (RW3). The highest value of UTS obtained at second repair (RW2) was 525.51 MPa. The repair welding has caused dynamic changed in the microstructure of the weldment. Therefore, the number of optimum repetitions for the AISI 304 austenitic stainless steel pipes was proposed up to second repair.

Abstract

The main goal of this research is to help decision maker in prioritizing transportation problems. Although numerous criteria were identified, the critical problems of transportation is less investigated. In order to fill this gap, this study was carried out to prioritizing the critical problems of transportation. The approach developed in this study implements fuzzy ANP to determine the weight for transportation problem criteria and sub criteria. As a result, the highest rank sub criteria was identified, that is “Professionalism” (0.203), followed by “Personal vehicle preferences” (0.190) and “E-ticket” (0.145). Although prioritize of transportation problems were identified, future research needed to develop the alternative strategy for developing transportation improvement strategies.

Abstract

The packaging is one of the industrial tasks in beverage an industry which is repetitive and monotonous with the same position throughout the day. In order to complete the packaging process, the workers do the tasks in sitting position during one work shift. Sitting position at work is commonly applied in both service and manufacturing industry. This position is mostly applied because it is considered to make a worker feel comfortable in finishing the task. Being supported by a comfortable physical work environment, a worker may sit in long hours during the workday. The aim of the study was to determine the level of productivity of the task done in the prolonged sitting position and affected by the work environment and level of fatigue. With software of SPPS 22 using analysis double correlation test, it was obtained that the value of Sig. F Change 0.027. The software analysis showed that the physical work environment and fatigue influenced packaging productivity significantly. R (the value of Pearson Correlation) obtained was 0.742 which means that there is a strong correlation between free variable (X) and bound variable (Y).R (the value of Pearson Correlation) obtained was 0.742 which means that there is strong correlation between free variable (X) and bound variable (Y).

Abstract

The Lean Manufacturing (LM) system has been increasingly used in many industrial applications, worldwide, in the last 3 decades. The LM system is based on sound philosophy and includes several tools and principles, which permit its usage in eliminating wastes and decreasing the production costs. Though the conventional LM is helpful, the new paradigm, i.e., Industry 4.0, has started challenging the system. The traditional LM system cannot analyse the complex issues present in the existing competitive market on its own. This is because the Industry 4.0 is based on data which is more diverse, complex and fast. In this review, the researchers have attempted to identify the solution for the current scenario. Literature survey showed that simulation was a relevant tool that could be used for addressing the complexity-based issues related to the new concept. Though the combination of the simulation and LM system helped in understanding the problems, there still existed a gap in the LM system with regards to the merging of the 2 technologies of Industry 4.0.
