Abstract

The objective of this research was to determine the students’ satisfaction level on the academic services provided by the accounting program at a private university in Jakarta and to evaluate attributes that should be improved. The data were obtained from questionnaires by using 5 quality dimensions. There are tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy. Moreover, the data were processed by using Excel, SPSS 20, Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) to determine the level of customer satisfaction, and also Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) to determine the attributes of service be repaired and maintained. The results show that the CSI is 71%, which means that the majority of customers are satisfied with the performance of the service quality of accounting program. Meanwhile, the results of IPA indicate that the improvement priorities have two attributes in quadrant 1. They are the availability of space to support student activities and the availability of books and teaching materials related to the syllabus. These attributes are the top priority because the importance level is high while the performance level is low from the customers’ point of view.

Abstract

To support customer loyalty programs, the travel agencies gave a souvenir to their customers. In one of the travel agencies in Jakarta, the demand for travel agency services could not be ensured. This had an impact on inventory items that were surplus to requirements. Inventory management was done by combining classifications ABC and (Q, R) with Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) model, which was usually used for uncertain demand. With “A” classification of the goods, two model (Q, R) scenarios were made and then simulated with software Arena. From these two scenarios, the results show that both have a tendency to decline, or the stockouts occur. However, the second scenario is more optimistic because a dummy variable is added the second scenario. Thus, the tendency is stable and does not decline.

Abstract

An operational stop time is a condition where heavy equipment is not working as usual. It is important to avoid this condition since excessive idling wastes an enormous amount of fuel and money. However, the operational stop time of a dump truck Hauller HD465-7 is 2.83 minutes, which is far above the normal standard. This project aims to optimize the improvement of an operational stop time by using a Six Sigma method with optimize plan selection. This will return the operational stop time to the standard range within 1.25 to 1.65 minutes. These steps of define, measure, analyze, improve, and control are applied to the standardization process according to the rules and criteria established by the Six Sigma. The result found that the Six Sigma?s approach which was applied in PT X has reduced the cost from US$1,105,300 to US$963,000 every month. An improvement have been made to matching fleet by combining six fleet of dump trucks at driving speed of 22 km per hour and the average simulated haul distance was 2,000 meters.

Abstract

One of the things that are considered important for the car is the seat. Car seats could be able to give effect to the driver to be more comfortable. As in the research paper carried out in the car seat industry that is with two objectives defined, first to ensure that the right design of new products is based on customer needs with the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) approach and the second is to improve competitiveness based on renewal marketing strategies and customer needs such as longevity, no wrinkles, not easy to get dirty, no flat pillows, and competitive prices. Customer satisfaction ratings are used in this study to compare with competitors. Based on calculations using the QFD method, this shows that the seat option has the highest percentage of technical requirements in the car seat industry around 27.39%. The second factor is material about 25.94%, and then the third factor is the characteristic attenuation of about 19.17%. Therefore, for continuous quality improvement purposes in the future, still, a lot of customer needs regarding the seat car need to be developed, so further discussion is needed for the future researcher with a suggestion to use another method such as  Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM), Analytical Network Process (ANP) or Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to combine with Quality Function Development (QFD).
