Jurnal Sosial Budaya ini merupakan media yang memuat kajian-kajian ilmiah dalam bentuk hasil riset dalam bidang ilmu sosial/humaniora, seperti pernaskahan, pranata-sosial dan sejarah untuk membangun dan membangkitkan kembali kejayaan Tamaddun Melayu dalam kawasan regional Asia Tenggara. Jurnal Sosial Budaya diterbitkan dua kali dalam setahun pada bulan Juli dan Desember yang berusaha menempatkan hasil penelitian para peneliti, akademisi, pemerhati dalam keilmuan terkait. Jurnal Sosial Budaya juga memberi perhatian bagi publikasi hasil penelitian interdisipliner berbagai pihak yang memiliki perhatian serius untuk merancang, dan merajut tatanan dunia baru Tamadun Melayu.

Abstract

In the early history of Islam, the mosque which literally means place of prostration did not refer to a building with a roof or boundary. Most important is the place of prostration. But in subsequent developments, the mosque became more specific sense, namely a building even the environment walled and used as a place of prayers. Mosque as a building is a realization and physical aspects of Islamic culture. The Prophet never provide normative guidelines on how the shape of the mosque building. Therefore, it is natural, there are various forms of structure and ornament mosque were found in various parts of the Islamic world, including in the Nusantara. The shape and structure of the ornament is dependent on the culture that existed before. It is also easily found all over the archipelago, the shape and ornamentation are influenced by elements of the pre-Islamic, but also influenced by foreign cultures such as China, the Middle East and Europe.

Abstract

The spread of drugs in Indonesia today drastically increase, both in the big cities and in remote areas. The victims are not only the adults, but also children. Curriculum for rehabilitating drug abuse victims at Pondok Inabah VII developed on the basis of tasawwuf (mysticism) approach. Stage of curriculum implementation are as follows: (1) Takhalli, self-purify from sin that pollutes the soul, both physically and spiritually; (2) Tahalli, self-adorns with good behaviors, both physically and spiritually;  (3) Tajalli, results from both of takhalli and tahalli. Tajalli is ultimate purpose of rehabilitation. Furthermore, those three concepts are applied in three core activities; Mandi Taubat (a person who washes their body to cleans theirselves from sin), Shalat and dzhikr.  In addition, the role of guide also decisive during the process of healing.  Inabah Method is unique; as it does not use any chemical drugs or herbs. Alternatively, religion therapy is used in order to recover drug victim, both in terms of physical, mental, social and spirituall. For further researcher, it is suggested to investigate this issue more specific and comprehensive.

Abstract

 This study used a qualitative research method that is research that aims to build a preposition and explain the meaning behind the social reality that happened. This research is digging deeper into the application of Islamic banking risk management at the Bank of SOEs and non-SOEs Bank. The focus of the studies in this research are: Practice implementation and governance of risk management, risk management practices carried out by Islamic banking has been able to reduce the risk of loss, and compliance with Islamic law (principle / principle of Islamic transactions).The results showed that banks in Indonesia have entered into the era of integrated risk management (integrated management) and risk-based supervision (risk based supervision). All products are issued by Bank Sharia SOEs and non-SOEs supervised by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and Sharia Supervisory Board (DPS) in accordance with the functions and authority of each institution. The application of risk mitigation is happening in Islamic banking there is a risk that originated from internal employees or company caused by itself and external customers. The most highest risk of murabahah financing. The principle in Islamic transactions to the principles of fraternity, justice, welfare, balance and universality has been applied. Risk mitigation financing is done on fiduciary risk as the risk that is legally responsible for breach of contract investments of incompatibility with the provisions of sharia or mismanagement (mismanagement) to the investor funds.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to find out the level of Social Capital Continuum and the what factors affecting the level of Social Capital Continuum employees and lecturers in the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UIN Suska Riau. The subjects were employees and lecturers in the Education and Teacher Training UIN Suska Riau and the object is a levels of Social Capital Continuum of employees and lecturers in the Faculty Education and Teacher Training UIN Suska Riau. The population is all the structural employees (administration) consist of 44 people and functional (lecturer) of 158 Faculty of MT and Teaching UIN Suska Riau with the sampling method consists of two ways, namely variable structural employees using total sampling method and sampling methods for functional variables (lecturer) using purposive sampling method. While research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research shows that the level of social capital continuum structurally and cognitive categories of employees and lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Teacher Training UIN Suska Riau in achieving the vision, mission and goals of the organization are in the category of Social Capital Maximum with the percentage of 79.90%, due to ranging between 76% - 100%.

Abstract

This research discusses about what and how the educational system during the reign of the Sultan Syarif Kasim II in Siak. The finding of this research shows that after Hindia-Belanda regime opened the lower school such as Hollandsch Inlandsch School, Inlandsch School and Sekolah Desa, then the Sultanate also established some Islamic-based school such as Madrasah Taufikiyah, male school. In fact, his wife also opened some islamic-based school for girls that focused on girl specific skills and Madrasah Anisa. The opening of these schools was a sign showed by the Kingdom that they were not going along with colonialism and also it was percieved as a way to increase the popularity and influence of Siak Kingdom that had gradually decreased. At the end this action was being taken for the sustainability of the Malay Kingdom as the dissemination of Islam and education.

Abstract

This paper is about a historical research aimed to understand the islamization process in Kuntu, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Historicaly, an Islmaic preacher from middle east named Syekh Burhanudin was a missionary that introduced Islamic teaching in Kuntu. This teaching did not only played a big role in the life of people in Kuntu but it also influenced others region in Riau Province in every walks of life. The wide spread of Islamic teaching boiled down to the humble personality of Syekh Burhanudin on promoting Islamic values as what others Islam missionaries did across Indonesia. At the end, Islamic values play an important role on cultre and character of people in Kuntu and Indonesia.

Abstract

 Organized learning system is a combination that includes elements of human, material, facilities, equipment, and procedures that interact to achieve a goal. Human element in the system of learning is students, teachers / faculty, librarians, laboratory, administrative personnel as well as those that support the success of the learning process. Information and communication technology is the result of human engineering to information process and the process of delivering a message (ideas, ideas) from one party to another resulting in faster, wider distribution, and longer storage. To be able to take advantage of ICT to improve the quality of learning, there are three things that must be realized that (1) students and teachers should have access to digital technology and the Internet in the classroom, school, and teacher education institutions, (2) must be available the material quality, meaningful and cultural support for students and teachers, and (3) the teacher should have knowledge and skills in using tools and digital resources to help students to mencaqpai academic standards. The demands of learning in the future should be open and two-way, diverse, multi-disciplinary and related to the productivity of work "at that moment" and competitive. Information and communication technology cheaply and easily will eliminate the limitations of space and time that had been limiting world of education. Today many impacts that occur as a result of the development of IT in the country. Indeed, the development of IT if addressed in a positive able to have a positive impact if addressed negative and may be adversely affected as well.

Abstract

Based on GRAND TOUR, Chinese ethnic students and Malay student s at economic faculty of Riau Islamic University are less communication. The Chinese uses Chinese to communicate at campus.  Because of this problem the researcher wants to prove it by doing the research. The research purpose is to know about the students assimilation, supporting factors, unsupporting factors, and solution those are done by campus to solve the problem. The researcher uses qualitative method of Spran (1980). The data collection technique is used to get the information such as observation, interview, and documentation study.  Informant of the research is determined by using Snow Ball sampling technique. The result of the research shows that Chinese students and Malay students communicate well, friendly, and harmonically. The factors those support the situation happens is because of the foundation leader, dean, and the official those raise conducive climate to the assimilation process. Meanwhile unconducive factors is caused by private  assumption, economical social status, personal ability, and some students still do not use Indonesian  to communicate at  the campus. Some efforts and solution are done to solve the problem such as avoiding discriminative behavior, increasing moral message to some campus activities, and making conducive communicative condition at the campus.

Abstract

The diversity of Indonesian society is a logical consequence of the laws of nature (natural law, the laws), something natural. In this, the diversity of Indonesian society is the need for education on multicultural education. Multicultural education is defined as a social policy based on the principles of cultural maintenance and have a mutual respect among all cultural groups in society. Multicultural education is a process that can be defined as the process of developing an attitude and code of conduct of a person or group of people in a mature business man through the efforts of teaching, training, processes, actions, and ways of educating that respects plurality and heterogeneity are humanistic. Principles of national education, as embodied in Chapter III, Article 4, paragraph 1: 'Education held in a democratic and fair and not discriminatory to uphold human rights, religious values, cultural values, and the diversity of the nation. In the Islamic perspective, multicultural education that the principle of democracy, equality, and justice has turned out to be compatible with Islamic doctrines and historical experience of Muslims. Education is a process of transmitting culture and learning at the same societal norms, through certain methods so that people acquire the knowledge, understanding, and how to behave in accordance with needs.
