Abstract

This study aims to develop a textbook containing Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), especially on the colligative properties of solutions. The development model in this study adopts the 4D model (Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate). Product assessment was carried out by material experts, media experts, chemistry teachers, and student responses. The research instruments were validation sheets, product quality assessments, and student response sheets. The product is in the form of a textbook containing Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) on colligative properties consisting of 9 sub-chapters of material and printed in B5 size. The results showed that the results of product assessment by media experts obtained an ideal percentage of 92% with an excellent category; material experts got 94% ideal percentage with the excellent category; chemistry teachers obtained an ideal percentage of 89.4% with an excellent one category. The book containing the Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS) colligative properties of this solution also received a positive response with a percentage of 98%. Therefore, the textbook is suitable for improving students' higher-order thinking.

Abstract

Abstract : Title is rewritten here Development of Interactive E-Modules on Integrated Learning Model Materials of Moderation Values Religious.  The diversity of tribes, languages, cultures, and religions owned by Indonesia should become a treasure trove of the nation's wealth. However, recently this diversity has become a trigger for disharmony, especially when it is associated with religion. Problems of religious disharmony such as intolerance also occur in educational institutions. Examples of intolerance are the spread of false news (hoaxes) and increased persecution among high school students, bullying and the emergence of differences based on religion, ethnicity, and others are forms of intolerance. One way to overcome this is to integrate the values of religious moderation in the lecture process through learning media. Therefore, the aim of this study was to produce an e-module learning model in the Chemistry Learning Strategy course integrated with religious moderation values that are valid and practical. The research method used is Research and Development with a 4D model. The object of this research is students in the fourth semester of the Department of Tadris Chemistry at UIN Mahmud Yunus Batusangkar. The results of this study indicate that the language validity value of the e-module is 0.89 with a very high validity category, material validity is 0.76 high validity category, and construct validity value is 0.76 high validity category. The results of the practicality test according to students were 0.89 in the very high practicality category. Based on these findings it can be concluded that the e-module learning model in the Chemistry Learning Strategy course integrated with religious moderation values is very valid and very practical to use in the lecture process. Keywords: religious moderation values, e-modul, learning models.

Abstract

A teacher is required to be able to develop a learning approach that is in line with the today’s student learning styles. This study was aimed at finding out the utilization of articulate storyline to increase the student motivation in the interactive learning of the history of chemistry. The research subjects were 66 college students divided into groups A and B with 33 students for each. The research method was the research interviews (a qualitative research), where the problem formulation was if (or not) use of the articulate storyline as interactive learning media can improve the student learning motivation. The instruments for the data collection were the observation sheets. 75.8, 15.2, and 9.1% of the students in group A stated that the articulate storyline improved the study motivation in very high, high, and the medium levels, respectively. Meanwhile, 33.3%, 54.5%, and 9.1% of group B students declared that their learning motivation improved in very high, high, and the medium levels, respectively. In addition, 3% of the students in this group revealed that the articulate storyline affected their learning motivation in the low level. Conclusively, the interactive learning media of the articulate storyline could improve the learning motivation of Chemical Education students on the history of chemistry. Keywords: articulate storyline, college students, learning media, learning motivation, online learning system

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model on buffer solution materials to improve students’ science process skills. This research is a quasi-experimental study with the matching-only pretest and posttest control group design.Population on this study is all students of class XI IPA of SMAN 1 Sukadana EastLampung in even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. The sampling techniqueused purposive sampling and obtain class XI IPA 3 and class XI IPA 2 as experimental class and control class, respectively. Hypothesis testing used the analysis of the average post-test value calculation using the difference test of two average by t-test. The results showed that: (1) the average post-test scores of students’ science process skills in the experimental class were significantly different from post-test scores in the control class which is high-categorized of 0,71. Thus, it can be concluded that blended learning with discovery learning model is effective to improve students’ science process skills. Keywords: discovery learning, blended learning, buffer solution, science process skills.

Abstract

Abstract : Development of Android-Based Learning Media Applications on Atomic Structure Material for Class X SMA/MA. Android-based learning media application is one of the innovations in the world of education. This product was developed to meet the needs of teachers and students in learning. This study aims to develop an android-based learning media application on Atomic Structure material for class X SMA/MA that is valid and practical. This research is a development research which is carried out by using the Plomp development model which is limited to the prototyping phase for practicality testing in small group evaluations. The research was carried out at FMIPA UNP, FT UNP, and SMAN 8 Padang. Product validation is carried out by material experts and media experts. Product practicality assessment was carried out by 2 chemistry teachers and 12 students for small group trials. The validity analysis technique used the Aiken's V index and the practicality analysis technique used the percentage formula. The results showed that the developed Android-based learning media application was classified as valid (obtained an average value of V, namely 0.939 for material experts and 0.959 for media experts) and the practicality test results in small groups were classified as very practical (obtained a practicality percentage value of 94% for teacher practicality test and 93% for student practicality test).
