Abstract

Teaching materials are learning resources in the form of materials or materials arranged systematically to help educators in learning so that learners are able to master the competence to be achieved. Based on the results of prasurvey obtained results that not yet available teaching materials that are able to facilitate, find, and develop mathematical concepts in advanced calculus course. Inquiry is a learning activity that emphasizes the critical thinking process and analysis to find and solve the problems until get a conclusion.This study aims to analyze the process of preparing the teaching material based inqury in Advanced Calculus course. The results obtained from this study are the teaching material based inqury in Advanced Calculus course which received an average validation score of 63% in the eligible categories of language, instructional design, and materials, and it can be implementation in advanced calculus learning.

Abstract

The objective of this research and development is to develop teaching materials of mathematics on social arithmetic based on Islamic values that are feasible, practical, and effective. This research type is Research and Development (R&D). The model used in this research is consisting of 10 stages. The instruments of data collection used the questionnaires and evaluation questions. The questionnaires are consisting of design, material, and Islamic content. The result of the research is the average of validation percentage is 82,3%, so the teaching material is categorized as feasible. Based on the validation process showed that the teaching material that developed is included the feasible category, with an average percentage are 82.3%. While the results of small group trial showed that the responses of students in the pilot phase of small groups from 16 students are obtained  87.5%, and the result from the test is obtained the average more than 75% of the students who score more than the standard of 75.00. From the results of this research can be concluded that the teaching material of social arithmetic is feasible, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The research is developmental research aimed to produce interactive media based on guided discovery learning on translation for XI grade students. Media is in form of web-pages which embed flash file and Geogebra applet in presenting material. The research uses model of multimedia development by Alessi and Trollip. Validation test’s result shows that media is valid with score of 76,25%. In other hand, product trial to students and pupil shows that media is practicable with score of 84,46%. Hence, media developed satisfies quality aspect namely valid and practicable. Research also shows that media can facilitate as well as motivate students’ learning. The use of media especially by ulitizing mathematical software with discovery learning method is highly suggested to be applied in mathematics instruction.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in SD 1 Bae Kudus could not make students fun in learning yet. Mathematics learning was still centered on the teacher so that students had not had the opportunities to convey their mathematical ideas either orally or written. This caused the students’ mathematical communication ability were low. The goals of this study were: (1) to determine whether the mathematical communication ability of students through the application of treffinger learning using a traditional game of congklak on multiplication material reach the completeness learning and (2) to determine the quality improvement of students’ mathematical communication ability who joined treffinger learning using a traditional game of congklak on multiplication material. This study was an experimental research with one-group pretest-posttest design. The research implemented on 2nd grade ini SD 1 Bae Kudus in multiplication material. The techniques of data collection used was test to measure mathematical communication ability of students. The techniques of data analysis in the study included the analysis of data to determine the completeness learning and to analyze the improvement students’ mathematical communication ability. The results of study showed that through the application of treffinger learning using a traditional game of congklak, then (1) mathematical communication ability of students reach the completeness learning, either individually and classical and (2) students’ mathematical communication ability had increased in the medium category by 65%.

The study explain about implementation Group Investigation’s model of mathematics learning in set subject. Group Investigation’s model is cooperative learning models that requires students to be actively involved, creative, dan scientific to develop idea to solve some problems. The implementation Group Investigation’s model of mathematics learning based on teacher centered learning problem. The implementation Group Investigation’s model of mathematics learning in set subject expected to be a solution of the problem learning and the learning can go well.

Abstract

The research was conducted to find out the influence of learning model of scaffolding to understanding consept of integral. The design of this research is quasi experiment consisting of 1 experiment class and 1 control class. The purpose of this research is to examine and know the difference understanding concept of integral, students who obtained learning model of scaffolding and students who received conventional learning. This research was conducted at Muhammadiyah University of Metro. The population is all students of mathematics semester 2 Universitas Muhammadiyah Metro. Two classes are drawn into a sample, 1 class as a control class and 1 other class is given learning model of scaffolding. Based on the results of research that has been done can be concluded that there is a difference understanding integral concept students who obtain learning model of scaffolding and students who obtain conventional learning.
