Abstract

Abstract: The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student creativity. The learning model compared were RME with problem solving, RME with problem posing on conventional. The type of the research was a quasi-experimental research. The population was the students of Junior High School in Surakarta on academic year 2012/2013. The samples of this research were taken by using the stratified cluster random sampling technique. The samples consisted of 269 students who were divided into 90 students in the first experiment class, 90 students in the second experiment class, and 89 students in the control class. The result of research showed that: (1) RME with problem solving provided better learning achievement than RME with problem posing and the conventional model. The RME learning model with problem posing provided better learning achievement than conventional one, (2) the students having high creativity had better learning achievement than those having medium and low creativity. The students having medium creativity had better learning achievement than did those having low creativity, (3) students taught by using RME with problem solving having high creativity level had better learning achievement than those having medium and low creativity level and students having medium creativity level had learning achievement as good as the low creativity level. Students taught by using RME with problem posing and conventional model had equal learning achievement in each level of creativity, and (4) students having high creativity level taught by using RME with problem solving had better learning achievement than those taught by using RME with problem posing and conventional model. Students having high creativity taught by using RME with problem posing and conventional model had equally good learning achievement. Students having medium and low creativity level had equal learning achievement in each learning model.Keywords: RME with problem solving, RME with problem posing, learning achievement,creativity.

Abstract

The research was conducted to find out the influence of Group Investigation (GI) of Cooperative Learning methods toward the student’s ability of mathematical reasoning. The research design was quasi-experimental the nonequivalent posttest-only control group design consisting of one experimental class (Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning) and one control class. The research population was all the second-semester students of VIII grade of MTs Negeri 1 Lampung Timur in the academic year of 2015/2016. The research instruments used were mathematical reasoning ability test. Data Analyze mathematical reasoning ability was used independent sample t-test. The results showed that: (1) mathematical reasoning ability using Group Investigation of Cooperative Learning was higher than conventional learning.Keywords: Mathematical Reasoning Ability, Group Investigation (GI) of Cooperative Learning

Abstract

The aim of the research was to determine the effect of learning models on mathematics achievement viewed from the student activity. Many factors influence the results of student learning, including learning system used in presenting the subject matter inappropriate, as well as the lack of students understand the concepts being taught. Based on the results of the pre-survey, retrieved the data value of the Mid Semester Even-Numbered Years Lessons 2014/2015 that of the 23 students there are 13 students who are learning or mastery of 56,52%. It takes the efforts of teachers to choose the model of learning material appropriate to each lesson. For the average activity of students obtained an increase in the activity of learning from 52,42% on cycle I became 64,2%5 in cycle II. As for the student learning outcomes there is also increased, the average results of the learn cycle I is 63,54, while on cycle II increased to 70,65 and success of the student learning at the end of the cycle reaches 81,09. It was concluded that the reciprocal teaching model, can improve the learning results of activity and grade VIII SMP Negeri 4 Metro.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the benefits of teaching materials based on the application of Schoology in the course of trigonometry in the lecture. One of the hallmarks of Schoology-based teaching materials is to use the Schoology app which is one of the web-based social web pages which offers the same learning as in a class free and easy to use. Through Schoology, the management of learning is very easy. Schoology is also almost the same function with other web pages in which it offers lecturers to load materials, learning materials, structured quizzes. This research is a kind of research development. Research methodology used as follows: (1) research and information gathering, (2) planning, (3) product development, (4) initial test, (5) product revision, (6) field trial, (7) field trial products, (8) product operational trials, (9) product revisions and (10) implementation. The achievement of this research is teaching materials based on Schoology which can support lecturer of trigonometry in the mathematics education program. This teaching material is feasible to use and the achievements generated in the development of teaching materials based on this schoology is to improve students' learning outcomes in trigonometric courses.Keywords: development,  teaching materials, schoology, trigonometry

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the mathematical representation ability and learning independence through the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach in students of class XI IPS 1 SMA N 1 Pekalongan. This type of research is a classroom action research study subjects were students of class XI IPS 1 SMA N 1 Pekalongan consisting of 25 students. This can be seen from the students' mathematical representation ability in linear program material by increasing data analysis (N-Gain) from the pre-survey to the first cycle obtained an average pre-test of 59.2 and an average post-test of 64.8 so that gain 0.30 with a percentage of 30% in the low category. Furthermore, the first cycle to the second cycle obtained an average pre-test of 64.8 and an average post-test of 77.4 so that a gain of 0.53 with a percentage of 53% in the medium category. Independence of student learning from pre-survey to the first cycle with a percentage of 54.6% increased to 65.05% with a high category. Furthermore, from cycle, I to cycle II with a percentage of 65.05% increased to 82.9% with a very high category.Keywords:Mathematical Representation, Self-regulated Learning, RME

Abstract

The low learning outcomes of students, because they have difficulty in solving the problems given, especially trigonometry material and the lack of interest of students in participating in the mathematics learning process. In addition, teachers and students have not utilized information technology optimally, so efforts are needed to improve student learning outcomes by applying MEA (Means-End Analysis) learning. The research subjects were all class VIII students of SMA Negeri 1 Pekalongan in the 2018/2019 academic year. Research sample is class XI b, which amounted to 22 students. The purpose of this classroom action research to determine the increase in learning outcomes of students who get the MEA (Means-End Analysis) learning model assisted by Schoology. Based on the results of the class action research conducted and the discussion that has been described, it can be concluded that the MEA (Means-End Analysis) learning model assisted by Schoology can improve the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMA Negeri 1 Pekalongan in the 2018/2019 Academic Year. Learning outcomes have increased from pre-survey to cycle I wherein the survey that is 31,82% to 45,45%, students who are thoroughly studied have increased by 13,63%. in cycle II the learning outcomes of students increased from Cycle I is 45,45% to 95,45%, students who have completed learning have increased by 50%.Keywords: learning MEA (Means-End Analysis), Schoology, learning outcomes

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the application of Resuorce-Based Learning (RBL) learning model in the Absolute Value material that can improve mathematical communication and students' learning outcomes. This research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) with planning, implementation, test cycles, and reflection. The subject in this research is a student in class X MA Hidayatul Ulum Seputih Raman. This data collection uses instruments in the form of a cycle test consisting of 5 questions for mathematical communication and a cycle test consisting of 5 questions for learning outcomes. Increased mathematical communication skills based on tests in the first cycle of 52.38% and increased in the second cycle to 71.43%. Then the increase in learning outcomes in the first cycle amounted to 42.86% and increased in the second cycle to 76.19%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that the application of the Resource-Based Learning (RBL) learning model can improve mathematical communication of class X MA Hidayatul Ulum Seputih Raman Academic Year 2019/2020.
