Abstract

The purpose of this IbM activity is to disseminate the technology of organic catfish farming and organic catfish abon (shredded meat that has been boiled and fried/meat floss) in Jetak Asri Farmer Group in Mulyo Agung Village and Pesantren Darul Madhinah in Mulyorejo, Junrejo, Kota Batu. Application of organic catfish farming technology and diversification of processed products of organic catfish are expected to help increase the income of catfish farmers. The method used in this activity is to involve the community directly. Implementation of activities in the form of socialization, counseling, and training on how to cultivate organic catfish and making organic catfish abon. Organoleptic test results show that the abon made from organic catfish has the advantage of texture, taste, color that's better than the abon made from catfish are bought in the market. The obstacles faced by catfish farmers still depend on the catfish feed production plant, and the cost of feed is a very high component in the cultivation of catfish.

Abstract

This community service was conducted to asssist catfish farmers to solve their problem in producing catfish fry. Several problems identified in the initial survey were low quality of catfish fry as some broodstock were too old, high cost of feed, lack of capital and  lack of production and financial management. Some activities undertaken in this community service were: introduction of broodstock, concrete ponds, workshop on induced spawning and probiotic production, training of production and financial management, demo-pond and monitoring and evaluation. The results of demo-ponds showed that introduction of broodstock, concreate ponds, induced spawning method, application of probiotics increased the catfish fry production up to 59,1 % which then improved the farmers income up to 49,4%.

Abstract

Siong is one of the economical valuable crops that grown in North Basse Sangtempe, Luwu. This plant grows wildly around the society. However, many farmers do not understand the economic potential of this plant due to low knowledge of farmer on proper cultivation techniques and post harvest handling of siong plant. The products produced of siong plant are black cincau and the siong tea that will be focus of ibm activities program that conducted in the village of Bonglo and Tede. The IbM activities conducted through the input of cultivation technology and post harvest, can improve the quality of siong plant production and certainly increase the farmers income. In addition, this knowledge can be transferred to other farmers so it can help them in developing siong plants into plants that can be cultivated intensively in North Basse Sangtempe not only in the village of Bonglo and Tede. The team provides solutions that implemented in the IbM program including: knowledge on how to seed, how to plant until how to harvest and post harvest of siong plant. High fiber content of siong plant provides a lot of benefits for the health of body adequate intake for dietary fiber to mantain health.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to disseminate the technology of Artificial Insemiation (AI) and Food Processing. This activity expected to help the Merino sheep partner group  for overcoming their problems which subsequently it can improve their income. The methods used in this study was to give insight knowledge and simple technology to the selected merino sheep partner group. Based on the discussion with merino sheep partner group, several activities were carried out, i.e.: (1) facilitating some good quality of merino sheep lifestoocks, (2) providing technology of alternative food production with cooper, (3) training of production and financial management, (4) demo-reproduction management and (5) monitoring and evaluation. The result of this study showed that the merino sheep partner group could master the technique of the technique of selecting superior sires ,parent management, fertilizer production engineering, manufacture and management of alternative feed production and reproduction as well as the financial well.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the quality of Senduro buck and evaluate of Senduro goat doe Productivity Index doe.  The first material used in this research was 155 of doe and 284 kid of Senduro goats. The method used in this research is a case study.   Primary data was taken on the terms of a direct observation questionnaire was used as a tool concerning reproduction and weighing in body weight of kids of Senduro goat. The variables measured were litter size, kidding interval, mortality, and weaning weight. The second material used data Senduro male goat sperm 2 years old, were frozen. Frozen semen produced by adding glycerol at various levels. The results of the research in the Senduro subdistrict showed that the average litter size is 1.83 ± 0.69 tail, average kidding interval is 281.87±37.66 days, the percentage of mortality is 4.93% of kid, the average weaning weight is 22.14±4.19 and Senduro goat doe productivity index is 50.87±23. 43 kg/year.  The addition of glycerol was significantly different (p< 0.01) on the percentage of post-thawing motility, viability, abnormalities and a total number of motile spermatozoa.  The conclusion of this research is the Senduro goat doe productivity index in the Senduro subdistrict amounted to 50.87±23,43kg/year. Value Senduro goats doe productivity index can reach a maximum when the number of litter size high, kidding interval short, mortality percentage of kid pre-weaning of Senduro goat low and weaning weight high. Selection of male goats  Senduro, sheep based on body size and the size of their testes according to standard ISO. The process of sperm production in the form of frozen semen meets the quality standards ISO (PTM 40 percent).

Abstract

Genetically the growth of local goat decrease each year. One of the factors that influences the productivity of goat in local breeders was the low of reproduction performance.  The objective of this project was to gain the qualified goat genetically with high goats productivity and reproduction in order to increase the breeders income.  The method of this study were plot demonstration, training and goat contest.  The result of this project could be seen from the decreasing of kidding interval became 8 month.  It was support by the development of recording system, oestrus detection and improvement of feed.  The quality of goat also increase with AI.  Overall the project run well in both partners and the breeders knew about the cheapest and efficiently of oestrus sychronisasion system, artificial insemination with frozen semen of Boer goat became more popular and the breeders more interest in, recording system could be applied easily and the availability of superior quality cross Boer goat from the contest result.

Abstract

One of the major issues often faced by private schools is the shortage of learners The minimum number of applicants seems to be a "chronic illness" suffered each before the new school year. Private schools should rise from this adversity by trying to stand on their own feet. The improvement of the quality of education services is an absolute requirement that must be met. Therefore, increasing competitiveness among other schools is a necessity.IbM Junior High School   activity is intended to improve the competitiveness of Muhammadiyah 4 and 6 Junior High School  in Malang through exposing the potential of schools in the community through the weblog of teachers and schools, as well as improving the skills of teachers and students through mastering the assembly of Running Text LED MATRIX module as a medium of information delivery.

Abstract

Each company has the goal of producing quality products with lower production costs. This activity aims to improve the competitiveness of UMKM Kripik Tempe Ngawi through the implementation of cleaner production management based on value engineering, so that the production efficiency is achieved and the company's competitiveness increases. Value engineering in tempe chips production is done by replacing tempe chopping process which was done manually and rely on labor, to use automatic tempe chopper machine. The results shows that the value engineering through the use of automatic tempe chopper machine can save the production cost of Rp 287,07 for each big tempe chips pack and Rp 75,54 for each small packed tempe chips, or save production cost until Rp 44.434,73 per day. Assuming that the company's revenue is fixed, the implementation of value engineering will have a positive impact to increase of tempe chips manufacturer's profit, so that UMKM partners are advised to apply cleaner production management based on value engineering to achieve expected profit target and to improve business competitiveness.

Abstract

Pengenalan pembuatan pupuk organik cair dari limbah padat biogas yang diperkaya oleh unsur Nitrogen (N) telah dilakukan pada peternak sapi perah di Desa Tutur Kabupaten Pasuruan. Desa Tutur. Pupuk organik cair diproduksi dengan menggunakan fermentor portabel kapasitas 60 L dan difermentasi selama 21-30 hari. Bahan dasar yang digunakan adalah limbah padat biogas, air dan starter EM4. Hasil analisis pupuk cair yang dibuat dengan perbandingan limbah biogas dan air 1:5 menunjukkan peningkatan kadar unsur N dari 0,77% menjadi 1,16%. Pupuk yang dihasilkan digunakan oleh peternak untuk budidaya rumput gajah dan tanaman bungan krisan.

Abstract

This community service was carried out to support the fish farmers in solving their problems. The problems identified during the initial survey were: high feed cost, low survival rate of cultured fish and shrimp, disease outbreaks and lack of production and financial management. Workshop, training and applying a simple technology was introduced to the selected farmers. Some activities conducted were: (1) providing two hand refractometers and a pelleting machine, (2) workshop of local-ingredient based fish feed production, (3) workshop of probiotics production, (4) training of production and financial management, (5) demo-pond. Farmers have been able to produce local-ingredient based fish feed and probiotics as well as to apply a simple production and financial management. The demo pond results showed that introducing of hand refractometer for adaptation period could increase the survival rate of fish and shrimp  up to 25%. Furthermore, by applying local-ingredient based fish feed and probiotics during the culture periods, the fish famers could increase the income from fish production up to 50.1%.
