Abstract

A production line is demanded with high productivity and efficiency as the increasing minimum wage regional. However, there were a lot of problems in the production line, especially in mixer wiecon line at PT. Garudafood Putra Putri Jaya Gresik. Value Engineering and Seven Tools methods were implemented to to solve the existing problems dealing with the efficiency in which Mixer Wiecon line was not able to reach the production target. Seven Tools method was applied to help identify the problems by using Ishikawa diagram as well as histogram. Value Engineering method was implemented to solve the identified problems through five steps: information step, speculation step, analysis step development step, presentation and follow-up step. Based on the result of the analysis of several alternatives proposed, the implementation of digital gauge with ultrasonic sensor on tempering machine has proven to be effective in solving the problems in Mixer Wiecon line. This gauge is then used because it is affordable to make for the company and it can give the largest amount of cost saving

Abstract

Path planning and controlling system for car-based mobile robot was applied on a car-based mobile robot with 1/18 scale. This system controlled the car-based mobile robot to reach the target position. The path planning used static Reed-Shepp curvature. The car-based mobile robot was built by modifying R/C model car in order to be controlled by PC (Personal Computer). The additional parts were sensor system to measure the steering angle and the one to measure the steering of traction motor. This robot has been also added with simple control system so the data interchange between mobile robot and computer could be minimized. Lastly, the unit was calibrated to determine characteristics of the car-based mobile robot.

Abstract

Internet has been used in all aspects such as in the military, social, business, and education started from elementary school up to university. Nowadays, each university has used internet to convey information fast. At University of Brawijaya, internet also has been used centrally in the process of selection of student admission through the use of web. However, Vocational Education of Brawijaya University has particular criteria for performance assessment in the process of selection of student admission, particularly for those majoring in Banking, Secretary as well as Tourism and Hospitality. Regarding this, it is then necessary to design a student admission system at Vocational Education by using PHP programming language, HTML, CSS, Javascript and MySQL database. This system is expected to ease prospective students to obtain information related to the selection process started from enrollment until admission announcement; ease the head of Vocational Education to get the report related to the result of the selection of student admission; reduce fraud in the selection process; and assist the academic department in processing data related to major preference based on the result of written and performance tests.

Abstract

Bandung since the beginning of 20th century has benn known as Parijs van Java and has been visited by tourist, both domestic and foreign tourists. Bandung has unique tourist attractions, and most of the tourist attraction s produced by the revitalization of colonial heritage and local wisdom which have been developed by adopting modern elements that come through the process of globalization. Hybrid tourist attraction is not just merely creative tourist attraction. The existence of hybrid tourist attraction marks the presence of local resistance against the dominant culture. This research used literary study as a tool to collect the data. Meanwhile, descriptive-qualitative method combined with the postcolonial perspective was implemented to show how the hybrid attraction as a medium of local resistance. The results of this study indicate that there are at least four hybrid tourist attractions as the idea of renegotiation in cultural identity of local communities in the city of Bandung, which is hybrid historical tourist attraction, hybrid art tourist attraction, hybrid shopping tourist attraction, and hybrid culinary tourist attraction. Additionally, the result shows that the emergence of hybrid tourist attraction is caused by three factors, which is the experience of colonial history, global cultural flows, and the existence of the creative industries.

Abstract

Small Medium Enterprise (SME) is one of the country's economy supports .Some of the SME products are able to compete with other exported products. However, some may only survive in the local area and are less able to compete with others. This is the problem faced by producers of Tempe crispy chips, Poetra Ardani. The problem is caused by the absence of the product’s visual identity as a brand. As a result, the consumers are not aware of the product’s brand which then results in reducing the sale of the products. In addition, souvenir centers are mostly located in particular areas and the products mostly have similar visual identity even though the brands are different. This is why a brand might be less memorable and cannot establish an emotional connection with their customers. To solve these problems, repositioning needs to be done in which a brand gives different concept in consumers’ mind. With this differentiation method, a brand can explore what distinguishes between one brand and others. The differences of each brand are the ones that will be communicated continuously through visual media such as logos, packaging, promotion, gimmick in order to make the brands memorable for customers.

Abstract

Implementation of the internal control system in an enterprise organization aims to preserve wealth, check the accuracy and reliability of accounting data, and to encourage efficiency and policy compliance management. The evaluation of accounting systems of acceptance premium and payment of out of contract claims at X Company is intended to provide input and suggestions for the accomplishment of the internal control system objectives. This study aims to investigate whether accounting systems of acceptance premium and payment of out of contract claims are already appropriate with the objectives of internal control. The method used was qualitative research with a case study approach. The result shows that there are some weaknesses in the implementation of accounting systems of acceptance premium and payment of out of contract claims. The systems are not consistent with the objectives of internal control. It is then suggested for the company to receive a premium in the form of a check on behalf of policy holders, so that collectors cannot do fraud. Additionally, for accounting system of advanced premium acceptance, it is suggested that Plan Visit sheet or PP.17 is copied and given a printed serial number. For accounting system of payment of out of contract claims, it is suggested that the agent is not involved in it. Also, service to policy holders, both in the implementation of premiums and payment of claims receipts, need to be improved
