Jurnal Sosioteknologi is a journal that focuses on articles that discuss results of an intersection of research fields of science, technology, arts, and humanities as well as the implications of science, technology, and arts on society. It is published three times a year in April, August, and December. Jurnal Sosioteknologi is a collection of articles that discuss research results, conceptual ideas, studies, application of theories, and book reviews. ISSN: 1858-3474 Jurnal Sosioteknologi adalah jurnal yang memfokuskan pada tulisan berupa penelitian interseksi bidang ilmu sains, teknologi, seni, dan ilmu kemanusiaan serta implikasi sains teknologi dan seni terhadap kehidupan masyarakat. Abstract

The title of this research is called " Adverbia Temporal Berpreposisi dalam Bahasa Inggris" or "žThe Prepositional Phrase of Adverb of Time (AT) in English"Ÿ: This reseach focuses on: i. What the structures of Adverb of Time are ; ii what prepositions of the Adverb of Time and their positions are; iii what temporal meaning of the adverb of time are; iv which prepositions of the Adverb of Time can be deleted or obligated in AT phrases . The method used in the research is descriptive and synchronic linguistics. The analysis based on the classificaton of data results in : First, the prepositional phrase of AT in English are formed by preposition/s + noun/ noun phrase, and preposition/s + other constituents . Second, the are 52 kinds of prepo- sition divided into 19 single prepositions forming AT such as since; 9 double prepo- sitions, e.g. up to; 20 single prepositions pairs,e.g., since___between ; 4 double preposition pairs,e.g., over about__from__to.; the positions of the AT are Initial Position (IP) or pre position, Mid Position (MP) or interposition, End Position (EP) or postposition. Third, the temporal meaning of the AT are position of time (forward spand, backward span, and neutral), duration, frequency Fourth, certain constituents in AT phrases, and the use of dynamic and static verbs in sentences may infuence the deletion/ obligation of certain prepositions of AT.

Abstract

Judul buku ini, "Bisakah Orang Asia Berpikir", juga bisa ditafsir dari berbagai sudut seperti itu. Ia merendahkan, provokatif, tapi sekaligus bisa mengajak orang Asia untuk mengevaluasi dan melakukan repleksi diri. Jika kita hanya membaca judulnya, tafsir yang akan muncul kemungkinan besar yang pertama, yakni Mahbubani, penulisnya tengah memandang sebelah mata bahkan meniadakan orang Asia. Namun, jika kita melihat biografi Mahbubani yang juga dilahirkan di Asia dan lebih jauh membaca tuntas apa yang dipaparkannya, tafsir tersebut tidak mungkin terlontar. Setelah selesai membacanya orang akan berpikir bahwa Mahbubani sebenarnya sedang mengajak orang Asia untuk melakukan evaluasi atas apa yang selama kurang lebih 1000 tahun dilakukan orang Asia. Puncak dari evaluasi ini adalah refleksi dan kesadaran untuk segera menata diri dan bangkit di masa depan.

Abstract

Education is one of the elements that is worth considering besides science and technology in order to put Indonesia to the same level as the one of the developed nations have reached. The importance of education in the Sundanese ethnic values is prominent, which gives priority to a man having an education. It is expressed in its songs and rhymes. Further, the values say that education will help a man interact with others fully well. Moreover, in its broader sense, education will ultimately lead the people of a nation to defend their country. However, the current facts show that education in Indonesia tends to shape someone to give priority on strengthening his/his family's/his clan's own economy combined with a hedonistic and consumptive life style. All of these will lead to the negative impacts to the nation's resilience. Therefore, the future education of Indonesia must be committed to the nation identity and resilience besides science and technology.

Abstract

On one hand a technology innovation will increase the social strata of a community, and on the other hand, it causes some social conflicts though they can be controlled. Furthermore, the speed of a technology innovation will affect a society to which it is introduced. One of the effects is that the society experiences a cultural lag. Therefore, it is necessary that the engineers take into account the social aspects into their technology innovation. This tradition "“ in which science and sociology are combined "“ has existed since hundreds of years ago. This combination results from the fact that during the innovation process, some engineering and scientific problems cannot be separated from the economic, social, political, and cultural problems of a society.

The aforementioned morale elevation is an answer over quality & competitiveness of next generation's to be a nation, sportivity etc. Tp enable them becoming pioneer in every action & appreciation toward traditional knowledge. Abstract

Currently, national education system is still incapable to provide meaningful contribution to the advancement of Indonesia's nation. It is mirrored on the teaching system at ITB, education here can not forge learners to become agents of innovation for development & prosperity to the Indonesian-national community. Refferring to "Development on Humanity Science at ITB (EG-HSc=Expert Group on Humanity Science, 2006)", the students' perception is, that lecture-units furnisked by the department (study programe) are yet to keep-up in defining graduates toward modernization agents. Hereby, an educational-direction still obscures itself in turning-out graduates. Either they would be directed for managerial or, prepared to be workers. On the other hands ITB's students are relucant to leave "secured-zone". Which is, to be employed by enterproses or institutions rather than cretae/expand employments. Based on abalysis of Sociotechnology Department's Lab. (SocTec Laboratory, ABPS et, al., 2006), the students' essential-needs, are abilities to become innovative agents by forming thought-pattern, comprehension & absorption over what to do. How to act & solve in anticipating the risks when it is carried-out. In this context, lecture-units-curricullum, SAP & Syllabus-given to the students are closely linked to searching solution & way of actions. In solving/anticipating diverse problems amidst Indonesia's National society, nowadays & in the future.

Abstract

Di Indonesia, meningkatnya masalah sosial dan kemanusiaan mengakibatkan terjadinya penurunan peran pakar sains dan teknologi. Penyebab dari penurunan ini tidak saja berasal dari pakar sains dan teknologi, tetapi adanya perkembangan standar-standar sosial yang bergeser dari banyaknya pembatasan-pembatasan eksternal menuju pembatasan yang lebih internal, serta adanya : (a) tingkat kesadaran sebagian pakar sains dan teknologi masih rendah, dimana mereka dibatasi oleh struktur baku, sehingga keluaran analisisnya bersifat statis; (b) tidak memberi ruang, waktu, dan mendukung maksimalisasi jenis sosiabilitas tertentu. Manusia selaku objek dan subjek pembangunan, tidak dapat memahami dirinya sebagai dampak perkembangan teknlogi. Dalam kaitan inilah maka diperlukan pakar sains dan teknologi dengan perangkat analisis yang efektif dan perspektif, guna mengantisipasi perubahan itu yang tercermin pada ide etika masyarakat serta berperan sebagai kekuatan pendorong dan mempengaruhi perubahan dari suatu keadaan sosial.

This paper discusses the interconnection of the two factors so that it will generate the early waning culture in Indonesia.
