Abstract

In the process of implementing science learning in class V at MIN 2 Nagan Raya, it is still dominated by students who are not able to understand the material well, this is evidenced by the data of student learning observation is still below the KKM, which is 60. The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze teacher activities, (2) to analyze student activities, (3) to analyze the improvement of concept understanding, (4) to analyze learning outcomes after applying  the Problem Based Learning  model assisted by realia media in class V MIN 2 Nagan Raya. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The data collection techniques used are observation and Test, data analysis techniques used using a percentage formula. The results of the study showed that (1) the activity of teachers in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 82.40% in the second cycle increased with a percentage of 92.59%. (2) Student activity in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 78.70%, increased in the second cycle with a percentage of 89.81%, (3) The results of the concept comprehension test of students in the first cycle were 63.23% and then increased in the second cycle with a percentage of 86.97%, (4) the learning outcomes of students in the first cycle were 52.94% and increased in the second cycle to 92.85%. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' understanding of concepts and learning outcomes through the use of the Problem Based Learning  model assisted by Realia media in class V MIN 2 Nagan Raya. Keywords: Conceptual Understanding, Problem Based Learning, Realia Media

Abstract

This study aims to compare the results of instrument testing methods between applying classical test theory and item response theory using the Rasch model in question instruments on respiratory system material. This study employed descriptive quantitative methodology, with a sample involving 36 students. The analyzed instrument consisted of 40 multiple-choice questions on respiratory system material. Instrument analysis utilized classical test theory with Microsoft Excel and item response theory with Winstep Rasch ver 4.5.2.0. The data analysis from classical test theory and item response theory offers slightly different interpretations but is mutually complementary. Both classical test theory and item response theory may assess the validity, reliability, distractor effectiveness, difficulty level, and discriminating power of questions. Item response theory provides a comprehensive analysis of test results through the use of the Wright map as a bar which helps determine a student's ability about the difficulty level of the question. Scalogram is used to identify patterns in students’ responses, allowing for the detection of cheating and inaccuracies in answering questions. Additionally, DIF items are employed to identify item bias. This study concludes that any developed instrument must possess the characteristics that meet the requirements to measure competency effectively. The requirements for an instrument can be analyzed using item response theory with the Rasch model, which provides in-depth interpretation. Keywords: Classical test theory, item response theory, Rasch model, instrument

Abstract

This research aims to improve reading comprehension skills through the CIRC model assisted by MIPO pop-up book media in class III students at SD 1 Kaliwungu on the material of determining the main idea of a paragraph. The method used in this research is classroom action research which was carried out over two cycles. Each cycle consists of 2 meetings with 4 stages, namely, planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this research were 21 students in class III of SD 1 Kaliwungu. Data collection techniques are observation, interviews, tests, and documentation with quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. The findings show that the implementation of the CIRC learning model assisted by MIPO pop-up book media, improves students' reading comprehension skills. Based on the results of pre-cycle research, the average was 69 with a classical completion percentage of 19.04%. Cycle I obtained an average score of 70.71 with a classical completeness percentage of 52.38%. In cycle II there was an increase by obtaining an average value of 79.04 and a classical percentage of 90.47%. Overall the average value of learning outcomes has increased by 8.33. So it can be concluded that by implementing the CIRC learning model assisted by MIPO pop-up book media, it can improve the reading comprehension skills of class III students at SD 1 Kaliwungu. Keywords: Reading comprehension, CIRC, pop-up book

Abstract

Some problems faced by elementary school teachers in developing their students' musical intelligence included teachers lacking knowledge and skills in music, teachers not optimally utilizing technology in music learning, and there are rarely technology-based learning media for music learning. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using the AMKA App to improve the musical intelligence of 4th-grade students of SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang. This study is quantitative research using One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The subjects in this study were 29 4th-grade students of SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang. The post-test results showed that three students belonged to the musical category, 14 students belonged to the Quiet musical category, and 12 students belonged to the less musical category. The N-Gain test results also showed that four students showed no improvement in musical intelligence, 20 students showed improvement in the low category, five students showed improvement in the medium category, and there were no students who entered the effectiveness improvement in the high category. These results prove that the AMKA App as learning media is effective in increasing the musical intelligence of grade 4 students of SD Supriyadi 02 Semarang. Keywords: Musical intelligence, teaching media, music

Abstract

This study aims to explore the potential of cultural heritage as a learning resource in the Madrasah Operational Curriculum (KOM) in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. Innovation in cultural heritage-based learning can enrich the teaching and learning process by integrating direct experience in the field, thereby increasing students' understanding of the subject matter. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview, and documentation methods to collect data. The results, indicates that the use of cultural heritage in KOM contributes to strengthening basic competencies, developing 21st century skills, and preserving local culture. This is in accordance with the mandate of the independent curriculum to utilize social and natural wealth as a learning resource, which is stated in the madrasah operational curriculum implementation policy. This implementation also requires support from teachers, a flexible curriculum, and collaboration with local communities and the government. The use of cultural heritage in learning also has an impact on increasing students' competence in understanding history related to their region. This study recommends a cultural heritage-based learning model as a strategic step to improve the quality of education in Elementary Madrasah while promoting cultural preservation.Keyword: Elementary madrasah, KOM, cultural heritage.
