Abstract

ABSTRACTWater spinach is a vegetable plant consumed by people all over the world. Its small morphology requires improvement to increase the size and productivity. An alternative way to do that is by increasing the ploidy of its chromosome. This paper describes in vitro induction of polyploidy of water spinach. Inoculum of in vitro seedling, in vitro shoots and nodal stem segments were immersed in MS solution containing oryzalin at concentrations of 0.00, 1.25, 2.50, 3.75 and 5.00 µM with immersion duration of 4, 8 and 24 hours. Oryzalin treatments reduced the growth variables of the in vitro shoots of all inocula tested, compared to control of no oryzalin treatment.  On immersion of 24 hours and high concentration of 5.00 µM, many inoculum failed to grow to the third passage of subculture. The best growth of in vitro shoot to the third passages occurred in the treatment combination of oryzalin 1.25 µM-8 h immersion and 2.50 µM-4 h immersion for seedling inoculum, treatment combination of 3.75 µM-4 h immersion for shoot tip inoculum and 1.25 µM-4 h immersion for nodal stem segment, compared to other treatments. Analysis of flow cytometry on 41 leaf samples from oryzalin treatment derived shoots showed 14.63% tetraploid, 36.59% mixoploid and 48.78% diploid. The efficiency of tetraploid formation reached  60%, provided only by the treatment of oryzalin 1.25 µM-8 h on seedling segments inoculum. Tetraploid shoots need to be proliferated, acclimatized, grown into planting materials and planted for agronomical analysis to provide evidence whether or not tetraploid water spinach is viable for commercial cultivation.

Abstract

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu hal yang penting untuk dikembangkan pada anak usia dini. Salah satu penggunaan metode eksperimen dimana anak dapat terlibat langsung dalam proses pembelajarannya. Berdasarkan pengamatan yang dilakukan di TK IT Azkia Aceh Besar, ditemukan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak usia 5-6 tahun belum berkembang sebagaimana mestinya. Kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan masih kurang melibatkan anak secara aktif melalui kegiatan yang menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan metode eksperimen memiliki pengaruh dalam mengembangkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak kelompok usia 5-6 tahun di IT IT Azkia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan desain One Group Pretest Posttest Design. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 15 orang anak di kelas TK B. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh bahwa pada kegiatan Pretest, diperoleh nilai sebesar 45,75. Namun setelah diberikannya perlakuan atau treatment yakni menggunakan metode eksperimen, nilai yang diperoleh yakni sebesar 71,11. Selanjutnya, berdasarkan hasil perhitungan Uji-t, nilai ttabel yang diperoleh yakni sebesar 4,3 dan nilai thitung sebesar 1,761, dengan demikian thitung > ttabel sehingga Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Dari hasil perhitungan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan metode eksperimen dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah anak usia 5-6 tahun di TK IT Azkia Aceh Besar. The ability to solve problems is one of the crucial aspects to be developed in early childhood. One method utilized is through experiments where children can directly engage in the learning process. Based on observations conducted at TK IT Azkia Aceh Besar, it was found that the problem-solving abilities of 5-6-year-old children have not developed as expected. The learning activities conducted still lack active involvement of children through enjoyable activities. This research aims to determine whether the use of experimental methods has an influence on developing problem-solving skills among children aged 5-6 years in IT IT Azkia. The method employed is an experimental method with a One Group Pretest Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 15 children in TK B class. The research findings revealed that in the Pretest activity, a score of 45.75 was obtained. However, after the treatment was administered, which involved using experimental methods, the obtained score was 71.11. Furthermore, based on the results of the t-test calculation, the obtained t-table value was 4.3, and the t-value was 1.761. Therefore, since the t-value is greater than the t-table value, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. From these calculations, it can be concluded that the use of experimental methods has an influence on the problem-solving abilities of 5-6-year-old children in TK IT Azkia Aceh Besar.

Abstract

In the process of implementing science learning in class V at MIN 2 Nagan Raya, it is still dominated by students who are not able to understand the material well, this is evidenced by the data of student learning observation is still below the KKM, which is 60. The objectives of this study are: (1) to analyze teacher activities, (2) to analyze student activities, (3) to analyze the improvement of concept understanding, (4) to analyze learning outcomes after applying  the Problem Based Learning  model assisted by realia media in class V MIN 2 Nagan Raya. The method used in this study is Classroom Action Research (PTK). The data collection techniques used are observation and Test, data analysis techniques used using a percentage formula. The results of the study showed that (1) the activity of teachers in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 82.40% in the second cycle increased with a percentage of 92.59%. (2) Student activity in the first cycle obtained a percentage of 78.70%, increased in the second cycle with a percentage of 89.81%, (3) The results of the concept comprehension test of students in the first cycle were 63.23% and then increased in the second cycle with a percentage of 86.97%, (4) the learning outcomes of students in the first cycle were 52.94% and increased in the second cycle to 92.85%. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an increase in students' understanding of concepts and learning outcomes through the use of the Problem Based Learning  model assisted by Realia media in class V MIN 2 Nagan Raya.Keywords: Conceptual Understanding, Problem Based Learning, Realia Media

Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes, describing class V SD Negeri Meunasah Tutong Aceh Besar. The type of research used is classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles. Each cycle includes the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subject of this research is the fifth grade students of SD Negeri Meunasah Tutong Aceh Besar consisting of 16 students with details of 8 students and 8 female students. The instrument used to describe teacher and student activities in the form of observation sheets, while to reveal data on student learning outcomes using test sheets. The results showed that teacher activity data in cycle I reached 83% while cycle II reached 98% which had increased by 15%. Student activity data in cycle I reached 78% while cycle II reached 94% which had increased by 16%. Data on student learning outcomes in cycle I amounted to 62.5% while in cycle II it reached 87.5% which had increased by 25%. These data show that the application of the think pair share learning model assisted by diorama media can improve teacher activity, student activity and learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SD Negeri Meunasah Tutong Aceh Besar.

Abstract

The research aims to develop inquiry-based worksheets which are expected to increase students' curiosity about gas kinetic theory material. The inquiry approach method was developed with steps, giving problems, formulating problems, hypotheses, experiments, collecting data, analyzing data, and making conclusions. The method used is the ADDIE development method, which analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and evaluates. Developing inquiry-based worksheets and testing the effectiveness of these worksheets in the learning process. The research subjects were 22 class XI students of SMA N 4 Sijunjung. The instrument used was a student worksheet and a curiosity attitude questionnaire. Assessment of the student worksheet was carried out by validation tests of media experts, material experts, and questionnaires for teachers. The validation results of media experts showed 92.30% (very good), and media experts scored 90.21% (very good), while trials on teachers and students showed scores of 86.13% and 89.16% (very good). The results of the student worksheet effectiveness test used the medium criterion N-Gain test, value 0.32. This shows that inquiry-based worksheets equipped with Phet simulations deserve to be good teaching materials and can increase students' curiosity in high school physics learning on the kinetic theory of gases.

Abstract

Daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) adalah tanaman obat yang sering dimanfaatkan masyarakat sebagai obat tradisional, dan memiliki senyawa aktif alkaloid, flavonoid, tanin dan terpenoid yang memiliki aktivitas antibakteri. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bahwa formulasi gel ekstrak etanol daun binahong aktivitas antibakteri, dan untuk mengetahui perbedaan efektivitas gel ekstrak daun binahong terhadap bakteri Staphyloccoccus epidermidis. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimental. Metode ekstraksi yang digunakan adalah maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96%. Konsentrasi ekstrak etanol daun binahong yang digunakan sebesar F1 (5)%, F2 (10%), dan F3 (15%) dengan kontrol positif gentamisin sulfate 0,1% dan kontrol negatif berupa basis gel (blanko). Uji aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi cakram dengan melihat zona hambat yang terbentuk disekitar kertas cakram. Hasil penelitian uji aktivitas antibakteri menunjukkan ekstrak etanol daun binahong F1 (5%) memiliki diameter zona hambat rata-ratanya yaitu sebesar 7,27 mm, F2 (10%) berdiameter sebesar 8,62, dan F3 (15%) berdiameter sebesar 9,13 mm. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu sediaan gel ekstrak etanol daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) mempunyai aktivitas antibakteri terhadap bakteri Staphyloccoccus epidermidis.Disarankan kepada peneliti selanjutnya untuk memformulasikan daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis) ke dalam bentuk sediaan lain, seperti cream atau salep untuk pengobatan pada kulit yang terluka seperti luka bakar, luka terbuka.Kata kunci : Antibakteri, Daya hambat, Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) Staphylococcusepidermidis.Binahong leaf (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) is a medicinal plant that is often used by the community as traditional medicine, and has active compounds of alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and terpenoids that have antibacterial activity. This study aims to determine the antibacterial activity of the ethanol extract gel formulation of binahong leaves, and to determine differences in the effectiveness of the binahong leaf extract gel against the bacteria Staphyloccoccus epidermidis. This research is experimental. The extraction method used is maceration with 96% ethanol as solvent. The concentration of the ethanol extract of binahong leaves used was F1 (5)%, F2 (10%), and F3 (15%) with a positive control of 0.1% gentamicin sulfate and a negative control in the form of a gel base (blank). Antibacterial activity test using disc diffusion method by looking at the inhibition zone formed around the paper disc. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that the ethanol extract of binahong leaves F1 (5%) had an average diameter of the inhibition zone of 7.27 mm, F2 (10%) had a diameter of 8.62, and F3 (15%) had a diameter of 9. 13 mm. The conclusion of this study is that the gel preparation of the ethanol extract of the leaves of binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) has antibacterial activity against the bacterium Staphyloccoccus epidermidis. It is recommended that further researchers formulate the leaves of binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis) into other dosage forms, such as creams or ointments for the treatment of injured skin such as burns, open wounds.Keywords: Antibacterial, Inhibition, Binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten) Steenis), Staphylococcus epidermidis

Abstract

This study examines the effectiveness of an ethno-inquiry-based science module in enhancing the scientific process skills of prospective primary school teachers. Science education at the tertiary level often lacks cultural context, which limits student engagement and skill development. Employing a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest control group design, 50 students from the Islamic Primary Education program at UIN Ar-Raniry were randomly assigned to control and experimental groups. The module integrated local cultural practices with inquiry-based learning, targeting six core scientific process skills: observing, inferring, measuring, classifying, predicting, and communicating. Data were collected through validated assessments and student response questionnaires. The results revealed that the experimental group achieved a moderate n-Gain of 0.36, compared to 0.06 in the control group. Students rated the module highly, with 86% finding it particularly relevant and engaging. These findings suggest that incorporating local knowledge into science instruction significantly enhances both cognitive and cultural learning outcomes. The study underscores the potential of ethno-inquiry-based approaches in fostering scientific skills while preserving cultural identity in teacher education.

proses pelaksanaan pembelajaran IPA di Madrasah lebih banyak terkonsentarsi pada peningkatan aspek pengetahuan sedangkan pengembangan kreativitas siswa lebih sering terabaikan. Dengan demikian sangat pentingmengembalikan pembelajaran IPA sesuai hakekatnya agar pengembnagan kreativitas siswa ikut terkembangkan. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan memilih salah satu model dan media yang cocok untuk mengembangakan kreativitas siswa seperti model PBL dan media video animasi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa, hasil belajar dan peningkatan kreativitas siswa melalui penerapan model project based learning berbantuan video animasi pada proses pembelajaran IPA kelas IV di MIN 29 Aceh Besar. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui lembar observasi guru, lembar observasi siswa, lembar soal tes dan lembar observasi kreativitas siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) aktivitas guru pada siklus I dengan rata-rata 84% dan meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata 95%. (2) Aktivitas siswa pada siklus I dengan rata-rata 79% meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata 93%. (3) Hasil belajar siswa pada siklus I 52,17% meningkat pada siklus II 88,46%.  (4) Kreativitas siswa pada siklus I dengan rata-rata 56,52% dan meningkat pada siklus II dengan rata-rata 88,46%. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model project based learning berbantuan video animasi dapat meningkatkan kreativitas dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV di MIN 29 Aceh Besar.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the improvement of fifth-grade students’ learning outcomes at SDN Ujong Kuta, Aceh Besar, through the implementation of the Two Stay Two Stray learning model assisted by realia media. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) consisting of two cycles, each including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects were 25 fifth-grade students, comprising 14 boys and 11 girls. Teacher and student activities were observed using observation sheets, while learning outcomes were measured through test sheets. The results revealed an increase in teacher activity from 70.83% in cycle I to 90.62% in cycle II, and student activity from 66.66% to 89.58%. Students’ learning outcomes also improved from 65.00% in cycle I to 87.50% in cycle II. These findings indicate that the Two Stay Two Stray learning model assisted by realia media is effective in enhancing both student engagement and learning outcomes in fifth-grade students at SDN Ujong Kuta, Aceh Besar.
