Abstract

Concrete mixture for structure of the building is expected to according to the quality and specifications desired. With the addition of admixtures materials used for concrete mix, it is necessary to know the type, properties and benefits of admixture produced by various companies. Concrete used In this study were added admixtureof Plastiment-VZ for characters investigated. In this study used two variations of concrete, ie normal concrete and concrete with the addition PlastimentVZ with usage percentage of 0.20%, 0.40% and 0.60% of the weight of the cement used in normal concrete. Cylindrical specimens used for compressive strength testing with a total of 3 pieces for each test. The test results obtained average compressive strength of normal concrete (f'cr) of 27.554 MPa, and for concrete with the addition of-VZ Plastiment of 0.20% obtained an average compressive strength, f'cr = 29.252 MPa, the concrete with the addition of Plastiment-VZ 0.40%, obtained f'cr = 30.951 MPa, whereas the addition of 0.60% for the compressive strength at 28 days obtained at 32.083 MPa.Keywords: Compressive strength, Plastiment-VZ

Abstract

Aceh earthquake in 26 of December 2004 was changing the disaster risk management in Indonesia, particularly if it happened cause of seismic activity dan its secondary hazards, for instance : tsunami, landslide, debris flood and liquifaction, and made The Ministry of Public Work to initiated for revition the Indonesian Earthquake Map 2002 by invite the experts in earthquake. The result was translated in the Indonesian Seismic Zone Map 2010 and change Palu city particularly and  Sulawesi region, generally in high seismicity area with maximum magnitude in 7,9 Richter Scale. This map should made us to have prepareness for the risk possibility in immediate time by mitigation planning, one of the mitigation planning is Workmen training to build resinstantsimple houses from earthquake forconsumers safety and comfortability. The training coducted in 4 (four) steps, firstly :introduction and workmen groups choosing; secondly :programme explanation and socialization; thirdly : training center programme and lastly : monitoring and evaluation due to the result of training by visit workmen project and they could understanding and implementing the training moduls as well as possible. Keywords: Earthquake, Indoneisan Seismic Zone Map 2010, Workmen Training, City of Palu

Abstract

Polypropylene fiber is the fiber type of plastic (polypropylene) which is a special production with high technology. It is a chemical compound with the formula C3H6 hydrocarbons in the form of a single filamentor thin fibrous tissue shaped nets with a length of 6 mm to 50 mm and has a diameter of 8-90 microns. Thesefibers can be used to improve the performance of concrete. This research aims to determine how much influence the addition of polypropylene fibers on mechanicalproperties of concrete (compressive strength. split tensile strength and flexural strength). polypropylenefibers used doses of 0; 0.40 kg/m³, 0.60 kg/m³, 0.80 kg/m³ of concrete, which is made on the type of concretef'c 20 MPa with the value of water cement factor (FAS) at 0.53. Calculation of mixed concrete plans usingguidelines DOE (Department of Environment). The research location at Concrete and Building MaterialsLaboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, University Tadulako Palu. Specimens made as many as 72 piecesof 60 cylinders (D15 x 30 cm ³) and a beam of 12 pieces (15 x 15 x 60 cm ³). Specimen testing performed at28 days.Test results obtained fiber concrete compressive strength, split tensile strength and flexural strength, higherthan normal concrete. Compressive strength testing of optimum values obtained at doses 0.60 kg/m³. with anincrease of 3.62% compared to normal concrete. From testing split tensile strength and flexural strengthoptimum values obtained of each at doses of 0.65 kg/m³ and 0.58 kg/m³. For the split tensile strengthincreased 20.44% and flexural strength increased 11.26% compared to normal concrete. Keywords: polypropylene fibers. mechanical properties of concrete.

Abstract

Several experiments have been conducted by using Fly Ash and some similar materials, such as lime, sand, gypsum, quarry dust, Fibre Glass for Bricks-making, which generally aims to get a high-strength brick, and safe for the environment. Fly Ash classified as a B-3 waste is a coal combustion residue generated from burning coal in Steam power plant. Because Fly Ash contains SiO2, Al2O3,P2O5 and Fe2O3, the levels are quite high; the nature of its cement characteristic (pozzolonic) is very good for the use of construction industry. In this paper Fal-G brick production process, uses of rap-trap bond in Fal-G brick masonry prism test study and from the economic point of view it turns out the use of hollow block Fal-G can saveconstruction costs 20 to 30 %. Observations, limitations and suggestions from the various regions have been described. Keywords: Fly ash, rattrap bond, prism test, environment, infrastructure, economy.

Abstract

Changes to the system activity around Palu Gulf Coast such as, the occupancy of hotel infrastructure, shopping centers and leisure facilities will impact on the Level of Service of Malonda street, in the present and the future. The aim of this study is to provide an alternative solutions that may be done to maintain level of services of Malonda street. The research data includes the data of traffic volume, travel time data of vehicle passing through the road segment is observed. Analysis and assessment level of services using Indonesian Highway Capacty Manual1997 and US-HCM 1994.The result found that the Level of Services of Malonda Street at this time is LOS C, while for the next 5 (five) years is LOS E. Solutions can be done to maintain the performance Malonda street is doing widening the carriageway width of 1.8 m.Keywords: Level of Services, Malonda Street, Palu city
