Abstract

Determination of the minimum spanning tree are widely used to solve optimization problems of finding solutions to problems that require minmum. In the electricity distribution network, minimum spanning tree (MST) is used to find the minimum length of cable for electricity network system becomes more optimal. Minimum weight of a MST primary distribution power network is strongly influenced by the geographical conditions of a region in the form of contour data. Contour data is spatial data that contains information of the earth surface elevation of an area. To determine the primary distribution grid MST needed an algorithm that can produce optimal solutions. In this research thealgorithm used is algorithm Prim. Prim's algorithm is an algorithm in graph theory to find the MST of a weighted graph withemphasis on the selection of minimum weight based on the node is taken. This research was done by designing a model of primary distribution power network graph in accordance with the data obtained. In finding the minimum weight for each side of the network graph should include parameters elevation, high point / node, and the distance between points / nodes. Furthermore, the graph is done by computer calculation and simulation to get the electricity distribution network primary MST using Prim's algorithm with the help of ArcView GIS 3.3 program through the avenue script Prim's algorithm included in the category of good or efficient algorithms, because the shape of polynomial time complexity in n, where n is a measure of the number of vertices or sides. Based on the test results have shown that the algorithm Prim MST ability to determine the primary distribution grid is much better if based on the geographical conditions of a region. In addition, Prim's algorithm graph computation time in generating the MST based on the data that is not based on the contourand contour data are quadratic.

Abstract

Energy Management Strategy (EMS) implemented in the fuel cell hybrid propulsion system aims to minimize the fuel consumption needed to provide the required power demand. Various EMS methods have been built to solve the optimization problem in minimizing the fuel consumption. This paper provides a modeling of new alternative approach of EMS method calLED analytical solution which is based on the minimization of the losses in the vehicle propulsion system. This method ensures that the minimization in the propulsion losses matches the minimization in the fuel consumption. Since the minimization is applied to the propulsion losses, this method has shifted the EMS objective to minimize the losses in the fuelcell hybrid propulsion system, still enabling to supply the demanded power for traction. The important advantage of this method is that it enables the real time implementation.

Abstract

Libraries as providers of information that is generally in the form of print media (books, reports, magazines, newspapers, journals, etc.) should gradually improve its services so that remain attractive to the visitors. One of the service improvements that can be done is to provide an information catalog that can be accessed by telecommunications media such as mobilephone and smart phone. This paper aims to create a prototype of the online book catalog system software using Java and XMLtechnology and use wireless networking technology from the hardware catalog of books that can be accessed by cellular telephone communication media in particular. By inspecting the testing results conducted in this study known that the catalog is accessible for cellular phones from various vendors.

Abstract

kWh-meter as an each hour electrical energy consumption measurer is still using conventional tools which only recordsthe amount of electrical energy used in each hour. By using AT89S52 microcontroller and optocoupler sensor, the conventional kWhmeter was modified to be a measurer which is not only display s the amount of the used electrical energy but also shows the value of money in rupiahs that should be paid by the customer. The principle of how this system works is PLN as a power source of kWh-meter moves the disc of kWh-meter when it is in the underload condition. When the disc spin and pass the optocoupler sensor, the sensor will turn on. Each time the disc cuts the beam of light, the sensor will instruct the microcontroller, the main controller, to process the execution instruction. This execution instruction results in the reading ofboth a number of rounds per kWh and an amount of rupiahs display ed in LCD.

Abstract

This research aims to build the academic systems information which is focused in table and inter table relation. Table design and decision of inter table relation are very important in term of creating an information system because those table and relation have influence in system performance and to avoid data redundancy. Method used in this study is interview with user who involved in the system and retrieve the hardcopy needed. Normalisation is done to the third stage. The conclusion foundin this research is that the amount of table used in this system are six and there is no data redundancy.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to develop the software using both Delphi 7 and ArcView GIS 3.3 programming languagewhich is able to apply Prim's algorithm in obtaining the time complexity used to calculate the cability of computer inexecuting the command. This study not only compares two pieces of software built by the authors but also compares the cability of two computers that each have different specifications. It has been proven that the software generated in this study can be utilized to get the complexity of time by using Prim’salgorithm which is used to calculate the ability of computer in executing the command. The software can also accuratelydisplay the minimum spanning tree as a result of applying the Prim's algorithm. The capability of computer is examined in terms of the accuracy and speed in executing the commands. The examination result shows that the capability of the first computer specifications is higher than the capability of the second computer specifications in applying the Prim's algorithm. The other result found in this study shows that the computation time software built in Delphi 7 is faster than the computation time software built in ArcView GIS 3.3. This result indicates that in terms of applying the Prim's algorithm, the software built in Delphi 7 is more efficient than the software built in ArcView GIS 3.3.

Abstract

Solar energy is one of the alternative energy sources which can be used as electrical energy. As the effect of earth rotation and revolution, it had not been optimized maximally yet. The rotation of earth causes the sun moves from east to west every day, and the revolution of earth causes the sun move from north to south every year. These phenomenons cause the differentintensity of sun light in every earth surface. To optimize the sun light, the design and realization of solar tracker is very important. The solar tracker has to be able to track the position of the sun and move the solar cell to face the sun light. The solar tracker can move in two axis with moving type of rotate and tilt, so it works optimally every time. This solar tracker is designed by using photo diode as light sensor and servo motor as actuator. The system uses ATMega8535 as control unit which able to process signal from the sensor and resulted Pulse Width Modulation to control servo motor moving. The testing showed this solar tracker capable to raise the average power to 0.676 watt and the eficiency to 36,216%. The error of tracking is 90at heavy cloud.

Abstract

The introduction of distributed generation (DG) onto distribution networks has a significant effect on power system. This effect cannot be characterized as detrimental or beneficial but is dependent on the allocation of DG on each distribution network section. Here the impact of DG on losses has been modeLED, facilitating a unique approach to the allocation of DG. This approach has been implemented and tested on sample sections of distribution network and results are presented showing the optimal allocation of DG which improves the efficiency of energy delivery on the distribution network. This paper aims to investigate the impact of distributed generation on distribution system losses. The main objective is to reduce the power losses based on location of DG and size of injection. Minimizing losses in the system is a delicate balance; one of the key areas is a balance between transmission losses andstorage losses. Distributed generation can save on transmission losses and must be carefully designed to ensure that storage and the losses associated are minimized. Distributed generation can be used in niche applications to assist distributed generation and help manage the variability of the transmission grid. Using application program ETAP 6.0 and the Manokwari electricity distribution system as case study, the results shows thatat certain location, the power injection of DG has decrease losses from 240,15 kW to 99,39 kW and more economic than without DG installation. The best location of interconnection is bus 77 from power grid and injection of 85% DG capacity.
