Abstract

A short circuit is one of the most common types of disturbances in a power system, either short-circuit between wire to ground and short circuit between different phase wires. When the disturbance occurs, the current flowing in the transmission line leading to the center of the disturbance is very large, so it will affect the stability of the entire system, To avoid damage and large losses, the distance relay is used as the main protection in securing the transmission line. This study discusses the short-circuit currents of one ground phenomenon that occurs in the main substation of talise heads, and simulates short circuit one phase to ground using ETAP (Electric Transient and Analysis Program) 12.6.0 software. From the calculation of this research, the largest short circuit current flows occur in the type of short-circuit current disturbance of the ground phases with the disturbance distances at 25% distance of 827,84 A, disturbance distances at 50% distance of 792,97 A, disturbance distances at 75% distance of 760,29 A and short circuit current of one ground phases with distances distances at 100% distance of 729,71 A and the result of distance relay setting value for zone 1 of ZSetting-1 value is 2,672 Ω and ZSetting-0 value is 5,148 Ω, for zone 2 the value of ZSetting-1 is 4,809 Ω and ZSetting-0 value is 9,226 Ω , and for Zone 3 the ZSetting-1 value is 8.91 Ω ZSetting-0 value is 10.117 Ω.

Abstract

Hydroponics is a planting technology that utilizes water without using soil as a growing medium by emphasizing the fulfillment of nutritional needs for plants, the temperature of plant nutrients and watering techniques used. This research aims to design a system to control NFT (Nutrient Film Technique), DFT (Deep Flow Technique) and Ebb and Flow techniques and control the temperature of nutrients water and monitor nutritional water requirements. The result of the research shows that the design of hydroponic plant watering system has been developed. In the Ebb and Flow hydroponics system the process of administering the nutrient solution using a timer while the water temperature of the nutrients is kept optimum 18oC to 28oC using DS18B20 temperature sensor and chiller. While monitoring water level nutrition using water level sensors and GSM module. The GSM module sends a message when the water level of the nutrient reaches a certain level in the reservoir and the alarm will give notice of buzzer when the nutrient water is at low level.

Abstract

The study is devoted to forecast electrical energy demand from 2007 to 2020, so lack of energy can be anticipated. The study was conducted in Palu, province of Central Sulawesi. The data is analyzed using linear regression. The result showed that the increasing of load in 2007 is very significant with peak load reached 120,6 MW. In 2020 the peak load reached 196.2 MW.

Abstract

In studying the behaviour of a motor selected to drive industrial equipment, the main problem being faced is to determine whether the characteristic of the motor suits the requirements imposed by the driven unit. Different kinds of machines and mechanisms as well as electrical motor exhibit different characteristics. The aim of this research is to compare the characteristic of induction motor using loop winding and concentric winding. The parametersobserved are current, voltage, power factor, torque and speed. The experiment was conducted in the laboratory of Electrical Engineering Department of Tadulako University and the result of this study indicated that characteristic of the loop winding induction motor is better than that of theconsentric winding.

Abstract

This study design controls a robotic arm is a robotic transfer of goods which have five degrees of freedom by using a system of point-topoint programming, the robot is quite necessary in the industrial world today, because it can be programmed back so that makes the robot to be flexible in working out various things. The design of this arm robot control system using the computer as a data processor with PPI-8255 interface and parallel port (LPT1). Robot software system designed to control the robot to do a certain task is instructed via keybord. Control of motor rotation in the robot is done through software on personal computers and the robot is designed to be controlled manually or automatically using the program Delphi 7.0.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the level of energy use and savings opportunities that can be obtained from a room based on IKE value. The intensity of energy consumption (IKE) is a term that used to determine levels of energy consumption in a building. IKE value is calculated based on the number of electric power used by all existing electrical equipment in a room and then divided by the area of the room. To find out how much energy usage level of a room or a building IKE value calculations and compared with the standard IKE value. IKE value will determine the criteria of a room using electricity in this category can be wasteful or not in use electrical energy. When the results were equal to or less than the target IKE, the energy audit activities can be stopped or continued with the hope that IKE values obtained Lower again. The results showed that of the 708 rooms have been evaluated including 136 belonging to wasteful use of electricity, with the savings opportunities that can be done as much as Rp 17.686.222 per month

A good lighting system has to meet three criteria; quality and quantity of light and efficient powerconsumption. A good lighting room will help effective activities inside the laboratorium. To achieve an optimum lighting, natural light has to be considered in the installation design. To optimise lighting installation of the building Elecronics and Microprosessor Laboratorium, clusteringluminer with the switch has to proportionately adjust according tothe sun light incidence to the laboratorium.

Abstract

The problem in this study were: (1) how the intensity of pollution sector in the region polluted insulator, (2) how polluted insulator surface conductivity Parent substations in each region, (3) how to profile an appropriate insulators forsubstations with different levels of intensity of pollution sector in the region. To solve this problem pollutant samplingconducted on ceramic insulators on the channel milestone substation switchyard each region at two different points, namelyat the top of the insulator and the bottom fin insulators. The results showed the intensity of pollution for every region ofsubstation at a concentration of 0.50 g / l has a value of ESDD with dissolved heavy pollutant levels (> 0.1 mg/cm2), while thevalue of NSDD categorized insoluble lowlevel pollutants. Maximum leakage current value obtained by GI. Makale 4.73mA, GI. Sungguminasa 4.47 mA, GI. Tello 4.60 mA, GI. Long Tallo 4.67 mA and GI. Pangkep 4.87 mA.

Abstract

Harmonic is one of sinusoidal components, one wave period from which having multiple frequency of its fundamental frequency one, leading to electrical power quality problems. Harmonic distortion in term of voltage and current ones, generally is due to non linier impedance. Inverter is one of example of it. There are some items that will be measured. There are value ofharmonic at source and value of voltage and current harmonic when inverter does not have any load. IEEE Standard of 519-1992 as a reference in determining maximum limitation voltage and current harmonics. The result of the tests wereshowed that voltage harmonic distortion at inverter did not exceed the IEEE 519-1992 maximum limitation of 5%. Whilecurrent harmonic distortion had exceed the maximum limitation of the IEEE 519-1992. The highest results were exceeding56,55 % when inverter does not have any load.

Abstract

Failure of Insulators of ‘Line Post Insulator 70 kV type’ usually caused by many factors, such as the leakage current oncontaminated insulator surfaces. This leakage current will cause interference with the electrical energy distribution system. Thisstudy reported the results of testing the leakage current on insulator 70 kV Line Post Insulator type performed on high-voltagelaboratory Ujung Pandang State Polytecchnics. Based on testing, the maximum leakage current value obtained in wet conditions polluted with spraying of pollutants ESDD = 3.2 mg/cm2 and NSDD = 0.08 mg/cm2 with a value of leakage currentof 7.4 mA at an applied voltage of 22 kV, this can result in flashover.
