Abstract

Islamic boarding school is a community-based institution, so that the culture and community culture give color to the values, spirit, and the school’s own philosophy. Beside, Islamic boarding school is obligated to be independent in every aspect, including in economic. Therefore, Islamic boarding school should establish the cooperation of Islamic boarding School (koppontren). The object of this research is Gontor Islamic boarding school, Ponorogo, who have koppontren business units since 1970. Data analysis was performed by reduction data, display data, and verification data. This research resulted in two conclusions. First, koppontren development model that includes koppontren management conducted independently by Kyai, teachers and the family of boarding school, business development patterns based on the needs of students and the public key, and the values of the broader education as the good of managing economic resources. The second, financial management system at the koppontren of Gontor boarding school be transparent, open, and is known throughout the family of boarding school, used only for the interests of the institution, and separate between individual rights and the right of the institution is clear.

Abstract

The Muslim population is expected to increase by 26% to 2030 to approximately 2.2 billion, and currently have a 7.7% share of global GDP which is expected to grow to 8.7% by end 2016. Therefore, the need of wealth management from Islamic way is growing rapidly. Hajj is one of Islamic pillars that Muslim people should concern on it. This hajj is performed depending on the ability of person in term of health and wealth. Moreover, the government plays a major role in management and service of hajj in many Muslim countries. The hajj fund can contribute significantly to economic development of the country. One of the possible mechanisms can be used for managing the hajj fund is by using wealth management as the instrument in managing the fund. Moreover, this study will employs qualitative research that refers to the meanings, concepts, definitions, characteristics, metaphors, symbols and descriptions of the matter understudy by using content and descriptive analysis to get finding of the study. The finding of the study is that the concept of Islamic wealth management differs from Conventional one. It is very comprehensive that cover all philosophical foundation; ontology, epistemology and axiology. Semantically, it is different from the Conventional, because Islamic wealth management has its own paradigm and philosophical underpinning, derived from Qur’an and Sunnah, and secondary source can traced through Islamic literatures such fiqh, tasawwuf, kalam. In practice level, it can be implemented in Indonesian Islamic banking especially in managing the hajj fund to contribute to economic development of ummah.

Abstract

This research tries to offer a solution to face the challenges of Islamic banks nowadays. It is known that Islamic banking in Indonesia was reached twentieth age, but has only 5 % from total market share in Indonesia. This is a contradiction to the fact that Indonesia is a largest muslim country in the world. This problem is related to some factors. First, muslim’s rationality in economic, which doesn’t consider halal or haram to pursue the material wealth. Second, their lack of understanding of Islamic bank. Third, there is no support from Islamic institution. Fourth, Islamic banks in Indonesia operate in mix economic system which has lack of regulation, because system of control is mixed with the conventional banks. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate the strategy of Islamic banks development to face the competition with the conventional. It is directed to the development of business competency comprehensively referring to the strength and weaknesses analysis of Islamic banks in Indonesia, such as new imaging program, expansion of market share program, development product program, service enhancement program and open and universal communication program.

Abstract

Makalah ini berusaha memodelkan permintaan uang individu Muslim dengan menderivasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi individu Muslim dalam memegang uang. Faktor-faktor ini kemudian digabungkan dengan norma-norma Islam terkait harta dan uang yang mana akan mempengaruhi faktor-faktor tersebut. Ada empat faktor utama yang diderivasi pada paper ini, pertama adalah pendapatan. Faktor ini dihasilkan dari fungsi uang sebagai media pertukaran dan penyimpanan nilai. Faktor kedua adalah tingkat suku keuntungan aset selain uang yang mana merupakan konsekuensi dari fungsi uang sebagai alat penyimpanan nilai. Faktor selanjutnya adalah inflsi yang menjadi faktor dominan tatkala uang berfungsi sebagai alat penyimpanan nilai dan sebagai standar dari pembayaran yang ditunda. Terakhir adalah Zakat, yang menjadi faktor penting akibat fungsi uang sebagai alat penyimpanan nilai. Adapun norma-norma Islam dalam mengatur prilaku individu Muslim terhadap harta dan uang, dikelompokkan menjadi tiga. Pertama, adalah norma-norma Islam terkait cara mendapatkan harta, kedua terkait dengan batasan penggunaan harta, dan terakhir terkait dengan pendistribusian harta kepada individu lain. Norma-norma Islam ini akhirnya akan menjadikan faktor-faktor permintaan uang individu Muslim menjadi lebih moderat, produktif, dan stabil.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect on income tenants muzara’ah through case study in modern Islamic Boarding School Gontor Mantingan Ngawi. The tool of analysis used to determine the factors affecting farmers’ income is multiple linear regression. From the analysis of the factors that affect rice production is obtained that the area of land, seed, fertilizer, pesticides and HOK jointly have a significant effect on rice production. The use of production factors such as land, fertilizer and pesticides showed positive and significant effect on rice production, while the use of production factors such as seed and HOK showed no significant effect. These factors together showed a significant effect on rice production. Average land to expand production at one time the plant is 6123 kg/ha. From the analysis of data, known to the average revenue yield of the rice paddies are 18.369.000/ha reduced total cost of planting one of 7.801.716,63/ha, we got the result of 10.567.283,37. Because it uses the system muzara’ah the results are shared with the foundation so that the two net income of farmers amounted to Rp. 5.283.641,685/ha. The results of data analysis influence of the productivity of smallholder farmers net income showed a positive and significant impact on net income of farmers.

Abstract

Empowerment of SMEs is a strategic step to improve and strength the basis of economic life for most of Indonesian people. During its development, SMEs are still having problems, especially in a capital. To overcome this finance obstacle, it is necessary to improve and develop some access-financing sources. One of them is to activate a cooperative enterprise. ICE of Mitra Amanah Sejahtera is an Islamic financial institution that given a financing provision based on mudharabah system. In this research, the researcher discusses about the mechanism of mudharabah financing conducted by ICE of Mitra Amanah Sejahtera for SMEs. In addition, the researcher continues her research on respondent perceptions toward mudharabah financing. Furthermore, this research was continuing by compare their prior revenue and after engaging into mudharabah financing. This research includes a case study, which used a phenomenological approach. The population in this research was all of SMEs that obtained the mudharabah financing at ICE of Mitra Amanah Sejahtera, amounting to 1500 customers and by slovin formula there are 94 data as a sample. The research comes with a result that the mechanism of mudharabah financing from ICE of Mitra Amanah Sejahtera used the principle to provide a maximum funding on Rp. 1 million, with no collateral and based on trusty principles. In general, mudharabah system that has been undertaken by this cooperative can provide some benefits for its members. Their perceptions toward mudharabah financing at ICE of Mitra Amanah Sejahtera were as follow: these are some benefits that perceived the borrowers (82.98%), there is a significant influence on business development (83.30%), respondent satisfied toward mudharabah mechanism (79.79%), an easy administration (77.66%) and respondent satisfied toward mudharabah contract (81.92%). From paired test result, there is significant difference between the prior revenue and after engaging into financing. Thus, can be seen from small and medium enterprises’ prior revenues and after engaging into mudharabah financing with average revenue of Rp. 261.968. Based on this research, the researcher prefers to suggest the ICE of Mitra Amanah Sejahtera to maintain the mechanism of mudharabah financing, especially in order to develop a micro-economic life from it capital difficulties.

Abstract

This paper discusses the development of Islamic banking into an alternatives to interest-based financial institutions. In many European countries, uforia about Islamic banking already familiar. even become its own trend for the population of Europe. In economics and finance, Islamic banks generate enough decent profit. The choice to take advantage Islamic banks in the current modern economy more open to the people. However keep in mind that Islamic banks still continue to be investigated although it has been considered as an alternative. The continuity will be highly dependent on management professionalism, and support the feasibility of their business full of government and Muslims. Bank Islam has ideological advantages that allow it to offering a solution to the problem-an issue faced by Muslims and all mankind. For that we need the political will separately apply its teachings at once his willingness to carry out its renewal.

Abstract

Advertising is the huge weapon of manufacturers located in frontier to campaign their product. Capitalist has been—for a very long time—spending a great amount of money in advertising. They believe that advertising can not be separated from their economic activities. Capitalists, therefore, use all means to make attractive advertisement. They raced to produce a unique and interested advertisement. Soon, advertising has lost its real function to give information of product to consumer. Further, there are so many advertising activities which break the norms. They show part of body that should not be visible. Some other use rude words and jokes. Others are provocation to use dangerous items. Frequently, some advertising insult other product, or other race. Those are all harmful for people, especially for Muslim.

Abstract

Indonesia, the largest archipelago in the world, has its own challenges to the welfare of its inhabitants which scattered in no less than 17 thousand islands. Various kinds of economic systems have been studied by economists in the country. In the end, they found populist economic system. Democratic economic system has five basic platforms, namely religious moral, social equity, economic nationalism, democracy of economic and harmonious balance. In addition, the status of Indonesia as the largest Muslim country in the world, the Islamic economic system is emerging as an offer solution to the economic problems that arise. Islamic economics, among others, stand on the principle of individual freedom, the right to property, economic differences within reasonable limits, social equality, prohibition of accumulating wealth, widespread distribution of wealth, social security, the prohibition against anti-social organizations, individuals and the public welfare. This study intends to unravel more details will be economically populist and Islamic economics, to then find spesific in between. From here, it can be concluded that the economic populist and Islamic economics have a lot of spesific, so it can open the way to find the most appropriate economic system for Indonesia.

Abstract

Muslim clothes have become the prime need (dharuriyyat) in muslim society. It is as ordered by Allah SWT in Al-Qur’an and As-Sunnah. However, there are still many muslims who buy the muslim clothes not for trend rather than practicing their religious teachings. In order to answer that doubt, the researcher initiates to do a research in the decision to buy at Baitul Muslim As-Sidiq store at Yogyakarta. This research aims to analyze demographic, benefit (maslahah) and psychographic market shareand its influence to the decision to buy at Baitul Muslim As-Sidiq 2012. Furthermore, this research aims to analyze and know the difference of the proportion of bought-product types based on psychographic and benefit (maslahah) market share. This research uses field research method with the determination of research object by descriptive analysis method which gives the description of research object through data sample that represent needed population. The result from this research indicates that at psychographic and decision-to-buy market share, majority of respondents agree that to wear muslim clothes is part of their lifestyle and they also agree that the models of clothes sold at Baitul Muslim As-Sidiq is suitable with modern lifestyle. It is reinforced by their willingness to allocate a few of their budget for buying muslim clothes. All respondents, whether males or females, agree that wearing muslim clothes is part of da’wah Islamiyyah. They also agree that wearing muslim clothes takes a part in maintaining the honor of themselves, their religion and their family. Furthermore, this research indicates that there is no significant difference in shopping muslim clothes and equipment between males and females according to psychographic market share. In the same time, there is no significant difference also in shopping muslim clothes and equipment between both categories according to benefit market share.
