Abstract

This paper studies the importance of revitalizing the nationalism based education in Indonesia. The study starts with finding the relationship between education and nationalism during the Dutch occupation. It is then followed by the relevance between education and nationalism as the root of the Indonesian national movement. The writer gives examples of education which is developed by Muhammadiyah and Taman Siswa as an effort of revitalizing nationalism based education. At the end of this paper there will discussion on the importance of history subject in building the spirit of nationalism and patriotism. Key words: educational revitalization, nationalism, Indonesia

Abstract

This research is aimed at finding out whether students’ active learning with discovery approach could improve the students’ understanding of basic science subject. The research used survey method. The population of this research was students who took the subject of Konsep Dasar IPA (the Basic Concept of Science) out of which one class was taken as sample. The data was then analyzed with descriptive technique with the help of graph. The result showed that 72% did not have sufficient understanding about the topic of energy and its transformation which was delivered without the help of learning aid and discussion. After learning aid was and discussion was facilitated by the lecturer, all the subjects of this research expressed their better improved understanding. Discovery method with experiment and discussion is crucial in helping students understand the basic concept of science. Key words: understanding, basic concept of science learning, students’ active learning, discovery technique.

This paper tries to give a closer look at the relationship between nationalism and education during the Dutch colonization which had born the national leaders. Abstract

This development was aimed at creating learning device for low level mathematics to increase the students’ participation and achievement through discussion learning model in Class A of the second semester of the Elementary School Teacher Education Department of Muhammadiyah University of Purwokerto of the academic year 2008/2009. The 49 subject takers was divided into 15 groups of 3 to 4 people. The procedure of developing the device used classroom action research. The action consisted of two cycles and took three months. Each cycle was done depending on the obtained improvement, design and the factor to be developed. The instrument which was used to get the data of participation and students’ response towards the lecture and the learning device was questioner, while he instrument to get data on students learning achievement were essay quiz, mid term test, and the end term test. The result was the device for learning low level mathematics, early-class learning material, students work, and increased learning participation. The learning achievement was still low which was due to their low ability in solving mathematical problem. Key words: Discussion learning model, participation, and mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

The education degree was found related to motivation worked at the other peasant in village, because the peasant generally don’t react to new ideas with a positive attitude. To say that peasants are tradition oriented is to state a truism. The peasants to follow those ways be known will produce positive, even though small scale, results rather than to try a new idea that might end in failure and thereby endanger his existence. The lack of peasant innovativeness is a funtion of scarce economic resources or of technology inappropriate for village settings. Peasants are poor, and a lack of ready capital undoubteddly serves to discourage the adoption of those new ideas which require cash outlay. Peasants are poor in technological resources and human resources. Peasants a relatively low capital income and comparatively low productivity per person, little commerce and high self sufficiency, a high rate of illiteracy, limited mass media facilities, inadequate nutrition and high death rates and shorts life expactancy, So that the education degree was found to be related other became peasant. Product Moment score are negatively related : - 0,289. This research in Karangnanas village, Sokaraja subdistrict. Banyumas regency, Jawa Tengah Province. Key words : Peasant. Education. Motivation.

Abstract

Pengawasan telah menjadi isu utama dalam studi di sekolah pascasarjana. Pengawasan dapat didefinisikan sebagai hubungan orang per orang secara intensif dan interpersonal. Pengawas dirancang untuk dapat memfasilitasi perkembangan akademik mahasiswa baik terkait dengan tugas maupun penelitian mereka. Paper ini menunjukkan betapa kompleksnya bidang pengawasan terhadap mahasiswa, yang dipengaruhi oleh banyak faktor, di antaranya latar belakang sosial, kepribadian pengawas dan mahasiswa, hubungan yang berkembang di antara mereka, keahlian pengawas, dan masalah-masalah yang dihadapi oleh para mahasiswa. Paper ini mendiskusikan pentingnya input-input kepengawasan dalam proses pengawasan, dan juga meneropong hakikat interaksi sosial antara pengawas dengan mahasiswa. Sasaran yang dituju dalam paper ini adalah untuk mengembangkan pengawasan yang efektif terhadap mahasiswa sekolah pascasarjana guna menghasilkan modal sumber daya manusia yang unggul. Kata kunci : pengawasan, mahasiswa pascasarjana, input kepengawasan, dan pengawasan efektif
