Abstract

In this globalization era, teacher plays an important role, because a teacher has a noble duty of producing qualified human resource. This has put teachers at the following roles: 1) agent of change. In this fast transformation era teacher can act as an effective agent of change; 2) Inspirer of tolerance and mutual understanding which is required of mankind through education process; and 3) professional educator. In the globalization era, schools are required to play the role as centre of learning. This means that the role of teacher is very important in preparing highly competitive learners. It is therefore imperative for teachers to improve their professionalism through upholding their educational qualification both in term of academic and professional competence. Abstract

Learning and teaching are inseparable but not identical. Learning is more descriptive, while teaching more prescriptive. From behavioristic point of view, a teacher should be able to create an atmosphere which enables students to build the expected competence. Abstract

The use of media in the learning process should be base on an objective criterion which includes the learning goal (basic and standard competence), the learning activities and evaluation. This research is class experience in solving the decreasing motivation and enthusiasm. As a medium in teaching civics, a film should be selected on the basis of its contens. The research was divided into two cycles, of which the result was analysed qualitatively with categorical and functional parameter through interactive model. The first cycle gave the expected results but needed to maximized. After film was used, 64 % of the students showed an improved motivation. This could be seen from their participation in the class discussion. In the second cycle, the learning process showed its maximum result, in which 96 % of the students gave their full participation in the lesson. Key words: film, learning, motivation.

Abstract

This instrument is aimed at improving studen’ts motivation and achievement of the students in class C of the PGSD Department of UMP. The 47 students was divided into 12 groups of 3-5 members. The development of the instrument was carried out through classroom action research consisting of 4 cycles. This research lasted for four months. Each cycles was done according to the obtained change, design and factor under investigation. To obtain data on students motivation, achievement, and response to the use of cooperative learning tipe TAI, questionaire and individual quizd as well as group assignment were used. The result showed that there was an improvement on those aspect due to the implementation of TAI using the quizes I through IV of the mid term test, individual quiz and group assignment. Key words : Type TAI of cooperative learning, motivation, learning achievement, assessment tool.

Abstract

This topic is important to discuss, at least as an effort to improve the quality of education. From this topic, we hopefully can get something practical which can be applied in the classroom. In the discussion of this matter, I will look back at the problem of education in Indonesia, then we try to find what problem globalization has caused, and finally we will discuss what technology is used in education and teaching. I also am going to discuss what policy has been or is being made by the government in relation with information and telecommunication technology. This discussion is closed with the one of the models which has been widely use in many developed and developing countries like Indonesia, the active learning model. Key words: innovative learning model, globalization era, active learning model.
