Abstract

ABSTRACTw Film discusses societal themes or phenomena and represents reality. It also speaks about the role of women in the media, who focuses on the struggle to withstand the gender equality for all of the women in the world. This contains ramework of liberal and socialist feminism in struggling for society problem which focuses on the equal opportunity and also right for every individual, particularly women that is being represented in movie entitled 7 Hati, 7 Cinta, 7 Wanita. It represents the phenomenon through the drama-genre movie. This research aimed to find out in-depth the values of feminism which represented in a movie entitled 7 Hati, 7 Cinta, 7 Wanita. This particular research was conducted using semiotic analysis method proposed by Charles Sanders Pierce through the Triangle Meaning concept by qualitative research and constructivist paradigm. The result of this study was 7 Hati, 7 Cinta, 7 Wanita is an Indonesian film that contains all the values of liberal and socialist feminism and being represented through 6 categories which contained in some scenes in this movie. .Keywords: feminism, movie, 7 Hati 7 Cinta 7 Wanita, semiotics

Abstract

ABSTRACT An image is very important for a politician to attain the attention from the society. Politician’s image need to be built and maintained in order to attain sympathy from the public. The process of building an image requires the media to share the informations. They have their own way to show the particular image, in order to attain more supports from the society. The using of social media of this purpose is such a requirement to reach the bigger range of society in order to influence them. Many politicians using Facebook to keep on communicating with their constituents. One of these politicians is I Ketut Sudikerta, who used to maintain this kind of social media to achieve the society’s empathy. He updates his Facebook timeline by uploading his daily activities photos. To observe the politician’s image on social media, we can use text analysis technic, to comprehend the intention of social media utilization on politic. The research aim at explaining text analysis of the image of I Ketut Sudikerta on Facebook on January until December 2017. This research using qualitative approach with Van Dijk analysis. The result of this research found that, there are 5 categories of image have been established: hardworking politician, down to earth, simple, local genius, young spirited, dynamic. Abstract

ABSTRACT Discrimination is the distinction between unfair and unbalanced treatment carried out to distinguish between individuals, or groups based on specific attributes such as race, ethnicity, religion, or social class membership. The Glory Road film tells of a team that changes everything in national basketball rules and black players have never been on the national players list, because they consider black players unable to lead, and moreover it's difficult to hold back emotions. This study includes qualitative research that focuses on the analysis of semiotics developed by Roland Barthes which consists of denotation, connotation and myth. The purposexof this study was toxfind out the representation of black racial discrimination inrthe film Glory Road. Based on the analysis of related scenes by using Roland Barthes' semiotics method in the film, addressing direct and indirect discrimination. The results were shown by the black race being underestimated by statements from the white race. Not only that, the black race while on the field was seen to be treated differently when on the field or harm the black race. This is displayed through various scenes in the film. Abstract

ABSTRACT The growth in communication technologies makes people can never abandoned it’s technologies that have been influenced their social behavior in the modern/ contemporary society can be seen in Tahilalats comic by Nurfadli Mursyid in digital comic LINE Webtoon application. \5The strip comics largely raised the story of humor full of satire, especially when people are began to be controlled by communication technology. The purpose of this research is to find the representation of technology dependence of the contemporary society in comic strop LINE Webtoon Tahilalats. The type of this research is qualitative, with constructivist paradigm. The primary data sources of this research are Tahilalats comic strips episode 465 (Trending), 215 (waras), and 224 (Berbagi), which are contained in the LINE Webtoon digital comic application. This research method is semiotic analysis of Charles Sander Peirce. The result of this research, found that from each of the drawing comic panels in the three episodes of Tahilalats comic, represents a modern society that cannot be separated from technology, which meets the three stages of indicator in Marshall McLuhan technology determinism theory. The three stages are; discovery in communication technology leads to a cultural change; changes in the types of communications ultimately shape human life; communication technology provides a message and shapes/ create our own behavior. Abstract

ABSTRACT The online media have many advantages in delivering news to audiences by directing public awareness to issues that are considered important through the agenda setting process. One aof the aissues that developed in the amass media was about the Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi in the second round of the DKI Jakarta Governor Election in 2017. One of the online media reporting on Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi was Sindonews.com online media. This research was aconducted to afind out the framing of the Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi at Sindonews.com by analyzing the news that was published from March 9 to April 21, 2017. This aresearch was a aqualitative research using the framing analysis amethod of Zhongdang aPan and Gerald aM.Kosicki . The results of this astudy indicate that Sindonews.com is very much in favor of the interests of the media owner, Hary Tanoesoedibjo, who is also the Chair of the aParty in the production and distribution activities of reporting the Partai Perindo support for the Anies-Sandi in the second round of the DKI Jakarta Governor Election in 2017. In framing the news there are four fractions that the author finds. It is also seen in the setting agenda process that Sindonews.com forces the public to pay attention to issues regarding the Partai Perindo support to the Anies-Sandi so that it influences people's thinking to participate in choosing Anies-Sandi through words or sentences that are presented repeatedly. Abstract

ABSTRACT Dance costume is a form of non-verbal communication in which there are symbols that have meaning in accordance with the purpose of the dance. This can be seen in one of the dance costumes in Bali, namely Jauk Manis Dance. In Jauk Manis Dance costume, there is a conclusion that there is non-verbal communication with the contents of cultural values ??conveyed through the symbols attached to it. This study aims to determine the meaning of communication contained in Jauk Manis Dance costume. Texts and costume symbols of Jauk Manis Dance were chosen as research objects because the symbols in Jauk Manis Dance costume contained meanings and values ??related to Balinese culture and beliefs. This research uses descriptive qualitative method and uses Roland Barthes Semiotics Theory. The results show that there are meanings and values ??behind the symbols attached to Jauk Manis Dance costume such as: cultural values, religious values ??and artistic values. Cultural value in which costume describes a particular group of people. Religious value in the choice of colors is a symbol of the strength of the Gods in the belief of Hinduism. Abstract

ABSTRACT The mass media directs the awareness of the audience to the issues that are considered important by making the process of setting the agenda. One of the issues that is currently developing in the mass media is the issue of reclamation of Benoa Bay. Various news on the reclamation of Teluk Benoa emerged in mainstream media and alternative media with various viewpoints. One of the alternative media that is consistently reporting the development of the issue of Benoa Bay reclamation is Balebengong.id. As an alternative media, Balebengong.id resembles the news of Benoa Bay reclamation in the form of citizen journalism that is not tied to the system as well as mainstream media, so that the published news is considered more neutral and democratic. This research was conducted to find out the framing of news of Benoa Bay reclamation in Balebengong.id by analyzing eight news published in August 2016. This research is a qualitative research using framing analysis method Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M.Kosicki. The results of this study indicated that Balebengong.id more highlight the news about the rejection that appears against the reclamation plan Benoa Bay. Abstract

ABSTRACT Indonesian Army has made various efforts and actions to create harmony with Indonesian citizens which is known as Territorial Development that is organized through Creative Social Communication activity. Current study aims to find out how the communication strategy carried out by 1611th/Badung Military District to socialize Creative Social Communication activities in 2017. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The result analysis using four elements of Anwar Arifin: 1). The audience is determined by Command in the form of directive which are Elementary and Junior High School Students in Denpasar and Badung. 2). The message is determined based on the theme and material that is issued directly. 3). Establishing Method, by means of its execution canalizing, the form of its contents: informative and persuasive. 4). Selection of Media Use, which are using directive based on command, face-to-face and technical meeting. Abstract

ABSTRACT Bali Media Grafika is a print media company in Bali with its newspaper product called Harian Pagi Tribun Bali. Tribun Bali Newspaper is a new newspaper that has been present in Bali since 2014. Tribun Bali is incorporated in the Tribun Network which is a group of newspapers owned by Kompas Gramedia. The purposel of this researcha is to find out the marketing communication strategy used by PT. Bali Media Graphic in increasing brand awareness of Bali Tribune newspaper among Balinese people. Thisr study usesa a descriptive qualitative approach. The technique of determining informants in this study uses purposive and snowball techniques (snowball techniques). Data is obtained through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The author uses interactive model data analysis techniques, Milles and Huberman through several stages, that is data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing and verification. The results of this study indicate the marketing communication strategy used by PT. Bali Media Graphic in increasing brand awareness Tribun Bali newspaper that is applying the concept of marketing mix (marketing mix) with 4P elements, that is: product, place, price, promotion, and using 8 elements of the promotion mix. The eight elements are: advertising (Advertising), direct marketing (direct marketing), interactivep marketing (interactive) / internet amarketing, sales promotion, publicity or public relations, personal selling (personal selling) , event (event), word of mouth marketing (Word of Mouth). Abstract

ABSTRACT Marketing communication is a driving factor for success within a company, to introduce companies and establish relationships with consumers. One effort that can be done by the company as a form of innovation from the development of communication technology to gain the trust of the community is to hold certain activities. PT Bank Maybank Indonesia as a bank that supports the lifestyle of people who like sports, especially running sports, makes an activity namely Maybank Bali Marathon (MBM). This research was conducted to find out how the integrated marketing communication strategy of the Maybank Bali Marathon Corporate Communication Division was in carrying out the Maybank Bali Marathon 2017. The research was a qualitative - descriptive study using data collection techniques in the form of interviews and document studies. The results of this study indicate that MBM uses an integrated marketing communication strategy (IMC) centrally. In addition, the marketing communication activities carried out by MBM focus more on social media (online) compared to offline activities.
