Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ukuran kuming terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman ubi jalar. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuming kecil dengan diameter 25 cm (P1), Kuming sedang dengan diameter 50 cm (P2), dan Kuming besar dengan diameter 100 cm (P3). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Ukuran kuming (kecil, sedang, dan besar) mempengaruhi pertumbuhan vegetatif (panjang sulur, jumlah sulur, dan berat brangkasan daun) dan generatif (berat brangkasan akar, berat akar pensil, berat akar serabut, jumlah akar pensil, dan panjang akar pensil) pada tanaman ubi jalar. Pada variable pengamatan panjang sulur kuming yang memberikan hasil tertinggi adalah kuming sedang (P2), sedangkan hasil tertinggi untuk jumlah sulur dan berat brangkasan daun terdapat pada perlakuan kuming kecil (P1). Pada penelitian ini tidak menghasilkan umbi (umbi kecil, umbi sedang, umbi besar), tetapi yang dihasilkan adalah umbi-umbi pensil dan terdapat banyak akar serabut. Kekurangan unsur hara dalam tanah terutama unsur kalium dan juga kemampuan adaptasi varietas yang rendah diduga merupakan faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil pertumbuhan vegetatif maupun pertumbuhan generatif tanaman ubi jalar. Abstract

This study aims to look at the role of agricultural extension workers in the development of rice farming. The study was conducted in Sugihen Village, Juhar District, Karo District, North Sumatra Province. Samples were 40 members of the Sageng farmer group. The data analysis method used is a simple method of determining scores. The results and discussion show that farmer's assessment of instructors as educators is 107 and a score of 94-120, it can be concluded that the assessment of farmers to instructors as educators has a positive role. Farmer assessment of the instructor as a leader as much as 107 and a score of 94-120, it can be concluded that it can be concluded that the assessment of the farmer to the instructor has a positive role. Abstract

Abstract The potential of sago in Merauke Regency is very large when compared to other regions in Papua. Sago is a plant with high socio-cultural and economic values ​​in the Papuan community in general and for the Marind ethnic group in particular. Tambat processing centers in Merauke Regency only exist in Kampung Tambat, where almost all of these sago starch products are sold to meet market needs. However, due to limited production, it has not fulfilled market needs, this can be seen from the sago starch produced is always sold out. The purpose of this study was to obtain a picture of the sago processing business. Data collection techniques were carried out by field observations and interviews. The results of the study showed that there were two farmer groups namely the Marind and Mandobo groups who carried out sago plant development and sago starch processing activities. Sago processing technology is still traditionally carried out in stages: felling, stripping the skin, grating and extraction processes. The average income of a sago processor in a one-time processing that takes 3-4 days for the Marind group is Rp. 730,000 and the Mandobo group Rp. 680,000. Sago starch marketing is still limited to meet the needs of the local market. Keywords : processing sago starch; Tambat village

Abstract

Heterosis indication for high yield in F1 offspring has a very important meaning in the formation of hybrid varieties of corn (Zea mays L.). Through artificial hybrid between the parents, it can be found out the potential of a hybrid combination result, the value of heterosis, and the combined power. Hybrids between a few lines or corn varieties are to obtain a new hybrid with superior character compared to its parents which are expected to have high heterosis value. This research aims to find out heterosis value of some quantitative characters of F1 and F1R; a hybrid of two species of corn. It is conducted at Doyo Lama Village, Waibu Sub-district, Jayapura District, from October 2018 to August 2019. The research method is an experimental method in which the research consists of two stages; (1) experiment 1: hybrid between parents using single cross of hybrid method towards 2 genotypes of corn parents (J-Doyo 1 and J-Arso 1)to produce 2 genotypes of hybrid: F1 and F1R. (2) experiment 2: genetic evaluation to presume heterosis value from the character being studied. The findings reveal that F1 hybrid of JH-Arsol male x Doyol female has superiority for all characters compared to both parents, such as cobs length is 18,07 cm, cobs diameter is 5,10 cm, the number of rows of seeds per cob is 13,67 rows of seeds. Meanwhile, F1R JH hybrid of JH-Arsol female x Doyol male has superiority for all characters compared to both parents, such as cobs length is 22,93 cm, cobs diameter is 4,73 cm, the number of rows of seeds per cob is 13,00 rows of seeds. The offspring of F1 and F1R hybrid has more superiority than the parents, which is shown by positive heterosis value for all characters being studied.

Abstract

This study aims to look at the application of acetoin-producing rizobacteria as biofertilizers for boosting the growth of rice plants in dissolving phosphates and fixing nitrogen. The experimental design used was a randomized block design (RBD), consisting of 6 (six) treatments, 4 (four) treatments with rizobacteria isolates (Rg21 isolates, Pd13 isolates, Pd7 isolates, and Bb7 isolates), one treatment with synthetic acetoin, and one control. Each treatment was repeated 4 (four) times so that there were 24 experimental units consisting of 10 pots of rice plants. The size of the pot used is a surface diameter of 30 cm, filled with growth media in the form of a layer of paddy soil (taken to a depth of 20 cm from the soil surface) and compost with a ratio of 3: 1. The results showed that the treatment of rhizobacteria producing acetoin was able to spur the growth of rice plants by dissolving phosphates that were still bound by colloidal soil so that it was not available for plants to become available P. Likewise, rhizobacterial treatment is able to fix Nitrogen by changing enzymatically organic N compounds into ammonium

Abstract

This study was to examine the effect of changes in digestive tract that is seen from the length of the small intestine size of broiler chickens given kefir. The study used 200 MB of broiler DOC as many as 200 animals which were kept randomly in a cage plot. The study was conducted for 5 weeks with 4 treatments and repeated 5 times so that the number of experimental units was 20 units. The treatments to be tested were: T0 = basal ration (control), T1 = basal ration + 1.5% probiotic, T2 = basal ration + 3% probiotic, T3 = basal ration + 4.5%. Kefir used was derived from goat milk which was given 10% kefir grain fermented for 48 hours. The data obtained were analyzed for variance based on a completely randomized design and continued using duncan test. The results showed that the final body weight was significantly different (P <0.05), while the feed efficiency, relative length of duodenum, jejunum, ileum, overall small intestine and cecum had no significant effect (P> 0.05). The conclusion that the administration of probiotics in the form of kefir has no significant effect on the relative length of the small intestine and cecum, but has a significant effect on final body weight. The use of kefir needs to be considered in terms of cost because it uses milk as a fermentation media.

Abstract

Abstrak Potensi sagu di Kabupaten Merauke sangat besar apabila dibandingkan dengan daerah-daerah lain di Papua. Sagu adalah tanaman dengan nilai sosial budaya dan ekonomi yang tinggi pada masyarakat Papua umumnya dan untuk kelompok etnis Marind pada khususnya. Sentra pengolahan Tambat di Kabupaten Merauke hanya ada di Kampung Tambat, dimana hasil pengolahan pati sagu ini hampir semuanya di jual untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar. Namun karena keterbatasan produksi maka belum memenuhi kebutuhan pasar, hal ini terlihat dari pati sagu yang dihasilkan selalu terjual habis. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran tentang usaha pengolahan sagu. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi lapangan dan wawancara.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada dua kelompok tani yaitu kelompok Marind dan Mandobo yang melakukan kegiatan pengembangan tanaman sagu dan pengolahan pati sagu. Teknologi pengolahan sagu masih dilakukan secara tradisional dengan tahapan : penebangan, pengupasan kulit, pemarutan dan proses ekstraksi. Pendapatan rata-rata pengolah sagu dalam satu kali proses pengolahan yang memerlukan waktu 3-4 hari untuk kelompok Marind Rp. 730.000 dan kelompok Mandobo Rp. 680.000. Pemasaran pati sagu masih terbatas untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pasar lokal. Kata kunci : pengolahan pati sagu; kampung Tambat
