Abstract

Beratan Lake is one of the lake in Bali which serves as place for agriculture, aquaculture, as well as tourism and recreational attractions. The growing number of facilities around the lake potentially increases the number of waste discharge to the lake as most of the industry do not equipped with necessary waste management plant. The aim of this study is to assess the water quality in Beratan Lake and later be used to improve the water management. Method: Five stations for water sampling were purposively chosen as representation of each side of the lake. The coordinate locations were recorded by Epicollect. Nine water quality parameters were measured for each water samples from each station: temperature, pH, total dissolved solids (TDS), dissolved oxygen (DO), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), phosphate, nitrate, turbidity, and fecal coliform. The water quality were calculated based on National Sanitation Foundation Water Quality Index (NSFWQI). Result: NSFWQI for water of Beratan Lake was 78 which indicates good quality. Although this result has been satisfying, fecal coliform and pH showed score lower than 55, thus, the two parameters need to be modified to improve water quality for further use.

Abstract

Stroke causes paralysis of one side of the body (hemiplegia). Powerlessness reduces the enthusiasm of life, causing emotional changes in the form of anxiety. Various interventions can be done to overcome this condition, including both pharmacological and non-pharmacological. Examples of the non-pharmacological interventions are the relaxation guided imagery and foot massage. This research design used an experimental study with non-equivalent control group design. The sample size of 60 respondents consisted of 3 groups and 1 control group with each group consisting of 15 respondents. This study used univariate data analysis with frequency distribution tables, bivariate analysis with paired t-test for paired groups and unpaired groups used independent t-test with significance level ≤ 0.05. The results showed that relaxation guided imagery or foot massage and the combination of both affected anxiety with p-value 0.01; there is a difference in the group before doing the treatment value ρ-value 0.812 Conclusion: stroke patients who are given an intervention for 30 minutes for 2 weeks along with standard treatment can reduce anxiety on a mild scale.

The general purpose of aerobic exercise isto train the body to exercise without stress and excessive psychological disturbances. Then, aerobic exercise is also done in stages such as stretching, strength, and balance of various types of muscle and joint flexibility exercises. This is very useful for the elderly to avoid injury during aerobic training and is able to reduce the psychological disorders that are often experienced by the elderly. In this review, we conclude that aerobic exercise can have a good impact especially on stress levels on quality of life in the elderly.

Abstract

Medical students beside they are as a member of the medical rescuer, the team is also to have good physical fitness due to consider that Indonesia involves a disaster drawn area. The study was conducted on a member of Tim Bantuan Medis (Medical Rescuer Team) of FKIK Warmadewa University. This simple random sampling was carried out to choose the sample. The data was analyzed using the Spearman correlation test to find out the correlation between body composition and physical fitness. The result from body composition showed that the highest percentage is in the average category (40.7%) and the smallest percentage is in the fair category (3.35%). Whereas the level of physical fitness that assessed through muscle endurance and cardio-respiratory endurance show a level in the poor as follow 38,5% and 85,7%. The conclusion is a significant correlation (relatively strong)between body composition and physical fitness (muscle endurance and cardio-respiratory endurance ) (r=0.30 dan r=0.18)
