Abstract

Besides functioning as a place to study, schools are also at risk as a place for disease transmission if not managed properly. Primary school age children are vulnerable to infectious or non-communicable diseases such as accidents when playing. Therefore, the inculcation of values ​​of healthy and clean living behavior from an early age is very important to avoid various disease risks, one of which is through the School Health Efforts (UKS) approach. The partner in this service is the Trustee of UKS in SDN 5 Sumerta. So far the partners have never received any explanation regarding the implementation of the UKS. The method that will be used is focus group discussion (FGD), interactive dialogue, training methods and mentoring. FGD aims to find problems faced by partners. Training and mentoring are carried out on an ongoing basis accompanied by monitoring and evaluation which is carried out regularly every month to partners in accordance with the form that has been prepared and carried out by the service team. This program has been implemented well judged by the implementation of activities on time, good involvement and cooperation on the part of SDN 5 Sumerta.

Abstract

Day care centers are currently experiencing significant developments with the many needs of the community and demands of parents to work. So that many parents leave their children in child care centers (TPA). Puri Rare Day Care is one of the TPAs in the city of Denpasar. Several toddlers and children were sent there. Toddlers and children are vulnerable to infection in TPA, so the aim of this Service is to provide knowledge about infectious diseases and their prevention and training to use self-protection tools and screening for child development. Mita's participation reached 100% and there was an increase in partners' knowledge about child infectious diseases and how to prevent them as well as child growth and development from 53.33 to 86.67% and monitoring and evaluation every 2 weeks to see the ability of partners in screening growth and development and prevention of infection. After carrying out PKM activities, it can be concluded that there is an increase in partners' knowledge about infectious diseases and their prevention and how to screen children's growth and development.

Abstract

Latar belakang: Gagal ginjal kronik (GGK) merupakan salah satu penyakit dengan tingkat mortalitas yang tinggi. Pada pasien GGK, golongan obat statin digunakan untuk mengatasi kondisi dislipidemia dan mencegah kelainan kardiovaskular. Selama ini banyak penelitian lebih terfokus meneliti efek pemberian statin terhadap kondisi ginjal dibandingkan dengan kondisi hepar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek simvastatin terhadap perubahan pada degenerasi hidropis dan nekrosis sel hepatosit mencit model subtotal nefrektomi. Metode: Lima belas ekor mencit (Mus musculus L.) jantan, galur Swiss, umur 3 bulan, berat badan 30-40 gram digunakan pada penelitian ini. Mencit dibagi menjadi 3 kelompok perlakuan secara random yaitu kelompok subtotal nefrektomi (SN, n=5), kelompok simvastatin dosis 5,2 mg/kgBB (S5, n=5), dan kelompok simvastatin dosis 10,4 mg/kgBB (S10, n=5). Hasil: Hasil pemeriksaan histopatologi menunjukkan bahwa rerata degenerasi hidropis pada kelompok SN (1,240,19), kelompok S5 (0,640,11), dan kelompok S10 (0,920,41). Terdapat perbedaan signifikan pada penilaian degenersi hidropis pada kelompok SN dan kelompok S5 (p<0,05). Rerata degenerasi hidropis pada kelompok SN (1,240,19), kelompok S5 (0,640,11), dan kelompok S10 (0,920,41). Terdapat perbeda an signifikan antara kelompok hewan yang memperoleh simvastatin (S5 dan S10) dengan kelompok SN (p<0,05). Simpulan: Simvastatin memperbaiki degerasi hidropis dan nekrosis sel hepatosit mencit subtotal nefrektomi.

Abstract

“Statistics Kingdom” is a website that really helps the learning process of “statistics and research” for health students. When final year health students need statistical analysis tools for their research projects, then visiting the “Statistics Kingdom” website is a very good choice. Health students can very easily enter data and then analyze it directly on the website, also provided the opportunity to ask questions and discuss further with the consultant. Abstract

Gizi adalah salah satu aspek yang digunakan dalam mengukur tingkat kesehatan suatu negara. Pemantauan gizi pada balita sangat penting untuk mengetahui kondisi pertumbuhan Balita. Salah satu kegitan yang dilakukan oleh posyandu adalah pemantauan gizi. Kegiatan pemantauan gizi juga dilakukan oleh Mitra PKM kader posyandu banjar tengah, Blahbatuh Gianyar. Permsalahan yang dihadapi mitra adalah kurangnya pengetahuan mengenai gizi seimbang dan pemantauan gizi balita seta kekurang sarana dan prasarana posyandu. Sehingga fokus PKM meliputi pendampingan mengenai gizi meliputi pemahaman gizi, pengukuran pertumbuhan (Berat dan tinggi badan). Metode PKM meliputi dialog interaktif, pelatihan dan pendampingan pengukuran pertumbuhan serta evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan didapatkan peningkatan pengetahuan mitra mengenai gizi (pengertian, jenis, pegolahan) sebanyak 40% dan keterampilan menggunakan pengukuran pertumbuhan terjadi peningkatan sebanyak 50%. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan 1 kali dalam sebulan pada setiap akhir kegiatan posyadu.

Abstract

It is possible to use the global decline in the Covid-19 epidemic as a trigger for the revival of Bali's tourism sector. Bali tourism includes a significant portion of water sports like surfing, diving, rafting, and swimming on beaches, lakes, and rivers. Swimming pools and other activities are available at amusement parks. One of the most common events in water tourism is almost drowning. There were 9 fatalities and 300 drowning instances in the Kuta beach area alone, according to the 2018 data. Because it is essential for tourist actors, especially those associated with water leisure, to acquire Basic Life Support (BLS) training, especially in saving drowning victims, the success of the rescue of drowning victims greatly depends on the speed and precision of administering BLS. The administration of the Quest San Denpasar Hotel, where Partners work, wishes to offer first aid training for accidents, particularly for drowning victims, as none of the hotel staff have ever had first aid training. Ten hotel staff members attended the training on October 29, 2022, at the Quest San Denpasar Hotel. The training provided is in the form of theory and practice of identifying drowning victims, activating the emergency system, evacuating victims from the waters to land, providing BLS, and sending victims to the nearest health facility. Before the training, a pre-test was carried out and afterward, a post-test was carried out, from the results of these tests it could be concluded that there was an increase in the participants' knowledge of 32%, and from BLS practice all participants were able to assist properly.

Abstract

Abstrak. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan karyawan hotel dalam memberikan bantuan hidup dasar dan penggunaan alat AED dalam penanganan henti jantung. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan melalui Focus Group Discussion, penyuluhan dan dialog interaktif, simulasi penggunaan alat AED dan perawatan alat AED. Evaluasi kegiatan melalui observasi keterlibatan peserta selama pelatihan berlangsung, penilaian peningkatan pengetahuan berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test, dan observasi keterampilan peserta memberikan BHD dan menggunakan AED. Hasil pengabdian ini menunjukkan kegiatan berlangsung dengan baik, dengan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta yang terlibat. Telah terjadi peningkatan tingkat pengetahuan terkait pemberian bantuan hidup dasar dan penggunaan AED. Pada akhir kegiatan, peserta telah mampu memberikan pertolongan pertama RJP dan menggunakan AED. Peserta kegiatan diharapkan dapat menjadi peer educator bagi rekan kerjanya sehingga pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini berkesinambungan. Abstract. This community service’s objective is to improve the knowledge and skills of hotel employees in providing basic life support and using AEDs as first aid for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Focus group discussions, counseling, interactive dialogues, AEDs training, and AEDs service training were the methods applied. Evaluation of the program were assessing participant engagement, knowledge gained based on pre- and post-test results, and skills gained in providing basic life support and using AEDs. The outcomes demonstrate how successfully the training went and how highly motivated the participants were. Participants were able to provide first aid and use AEDs after the session. Participants are expected to become peer educators for their co-workers so that the knowledge and skills gained from this community service are sustainable.

Abstract

Pembatasan sosial menyebabkan individu terpaksa mengurangi interaksi sosial dan mencari aktivitas di rumah. Salah satu akibatnya adalah tingginya penggunaan internet dengan berbagai jenis motivasi penggunaan. Penggunaan internet yang berlebihan, khususnya penggunaan sosial media memberikan dampak negatif seperti problem mental dan perilaku berupa kecanduan atau adiksi. Anak yatim piatu berhak mendapatkan bimbingan tentang penggunaan internet ini untuk menghindari dampak yang kurang baik nantinya. Salah satu cara yang dilakukan adalah dengan kegiatan pengabdian dengan memberdayakan dan menyiapkan mereka agar mampu mandiri dalam mengelola penggunaan internet, bahkan mampu menjadi penyuluh sebaya (peer educator) bagi teman-temannya. Kegiatan PKM ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan mitra agar dapat cerdas menggunakan internet dan sosial media. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan edukasi tentang dampak penggunaan internet dan sosial media, serta melatih untuk melakukan dan memanfaatkan fasilitas filter dan screen time saat menggunakan smartphone maupun perangkat lainnya. Seluruh kegiatan mulai dari pemberian materi dan pelatihan terbukti meningkatkan pengetahuan anak di Bali Orphan mengenai dampak penggunaan internet yaitu sebanyak 95%, dan meningkatkan kemampuan menggunakan filter serta aplikasi untuk membatasi penggunaan internet. Peningkatan pengetahuan dilihat dari meningkatnya hasil post-test dan sudah bisa menggunakan aplikasi filter maupun screen time secara mandiri tanpa bantuan.

Abstract

Anemia is a condition characterized by low levels of hemoglobin or red blood cell counts in the bloodstream, resulting in a decreased ability of the blood to transport oxygen throughout the body. The prevalence of anemia is relatively high, especially in developing countries. In Indonesia, there has been an increase in the prevalence of anemia among adolescents aged 15-24 years, reaching 13.6%. In Bali, the recorded prevalence of anemia is 21.9%, with Bangli Regency ranking second. Kintamani is one of the sub-districts located in Bangli Regency, and SMP Negeri 1 Kintamani is one of the middle schools in the area. This study aims to identify the prevalence of anemia among female students of SMP Negeri 1 Kintamani. The method used is a cross-sectional study involving 147 respondents. Hemoglobin levels were measured using the Easy Touch GCHb device. The results indicate that the prevalence of anemia among female students at SMP Negeri 1 Kintamani is 18.37%, with mild anemia at 12.24% and moderate anemia at 6.12%. The majority of respondents are 12 years old.

Abstract

Occupational contact dermatitis is a skin disease that arises due to work, which is generally caused by a history of contact with specific allergens and irritants at work or profession. The duration of contact is one of the factors influencing the incidence of occupational contact dermatitis. The longer contact duration with the chemical, the irritation or inflammation of the skin more likely will occur that can result a skin irritation. This study aims to determine the relationship between duration of contact and the incidence of occupational contact dermatitis of salon employees in Denpasar City. This study used an analytical study design with a cross-sectional approach. Cluster sampling used for sampling technique. The sample of this study is the salon employees in Denpasar City with a total of 38 people. Mathias criteria and NOSQ-2002 were used as research instruments. The data analysis technique used univariate and bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that the majority of salon employees were aged 26-35 years (36.8%), female sex (86.6%), and have a contact duration < 5 hours (52.6%). The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was a correlation between duration of contact and the incidence of occupational contact dermatitis in salon employees in Denpasar City (p = 0.001). This study can be concluded that there is a correlation between duration of contact and the incidence of occupational contact dermatitis of salon employees in Denpasar City.
